So bummed they have removed their lifetime warranty for socks just this May. Their clothing is great but very expensive. At least I knew if the socks failed I would get a new pair. And one of my pairs got a random hole at the end of the toe, nothing I could have done on my own so a flaw in the sock for sure. The staff was nice and I didn't give them a hard time since it isn't up to them. They were actually very nice. Let me bring my bike inside while I shopped so it would be safe. Answered some questions about the new tech material that isn't wool. Understood that I don't like to buy anything full price so I wait for the sales. But still left with a sock with a hole in it. I guess at this price I will learn how to darn a sock from my Mom. Nice staff and I really do love their clothing. I only wear their socks and their underwear. I also love traveling with the shirts as they really don't get stinky even after 35 hours of travel to and from India. read more

When I did go to the desk to ask for assistance finding something I was met with zero personality and a monotone voice. Bit bummed since it's such good products. Great products and terrible customer service at this location. We walked in to look at something we had seen online and the three employees standing and talking at the register station didn't look up or engage until we asked for help at which point we were met with stunned silence. Eventually one employee followed up and helped us answer some questions but then went back to their group chat at the register. Great looking products and we may purchase online but don't go to this location if you need help or have questions. They just didn't seem to care. read more

People are always nice there. And it's a pretty ethical business. Not a huge company but does high high high quality wool based clothing. Ever since I discovered them almost a decade ago, I have been buying half of my clothes there. The ticket price may be higher because it's real high quality wool, but I always try to catch a sale to save some hard earned dollars. Also last time I went, I asked an employee does the company treat them well. She said yes, she loves it there. During COVID, she worked other jobs that couldn't wait to get sick people back in office without a care for how others would get infected, but when she quit and started working at Icebreaker, when people got sick, the office is actually paying for sick times and plenty of time for employees to rest and recover and not infect more people. That was def the kind of employer behavior I'd like to support. read more

You can buy on shirt here and it will last year Years to come because wool products made by quality Brenda are made to last. We got lucky stumbling upon this store because typically we only find their stuff if we are lucky in an REI sometimes. Also they started their summer sale early because this specific store is getting remodeled. The people who work here are very helpful and nice as well! Honestly this place has some nice stuff. I just have a hard time paying $79 for one t shirt. On the flip side they have some pieces that can be worn different ways and would be great to have along when traveling. The trick here is to get items that you are going to get a lot of use out of. The quality and utility of the designs and fabrics are what will keep people coming back. read more

It's nice going to a store where they have almost all of their stock in one place, all the color options too. I was here when they had their sale going on, was able to grab a few good finds. However, when they do have their sale, grab whatever you can otherwise they'll be gone the next time you check in! Just arrived from seattle and was checkout the all the outdoor gear stores..Columbia, Mountain Hardwear,etc. This was alittle bit farther then the other stores from my hotel but definitely worth the walk. The sale items were 50% off. Can't beat that with online purchases. Wish there was one in Seattle. I will definitely stop by again the next time I'm in Portland. My only problem is how to pack the items into my carry on. read more

For more than 20 years I worked in implementing and monitoring quality for various designers in the garment industry. I know first hand about everything that goes into making a quality garments. Unlike dry cleaning methods which have nasty chemicals, wool can be washed. Wool is naturally antibacterial and has natural moisture wicking capabilities. (I cut out their wool fabric to make mask liners. My masks will never stink.) Lastly, wool can be highly constructed to be extremely functional for strenuous activities. Drove down to Portland for a family day trip and stopped by Icebreaker for the first time. I've had great experiences online with their customer service and love their clothing. The Portland store has a nice selection of their signature items, in a wide range of sizes. And I can't say enough nice things about David at the Portland store. He was extremely polite, helpful, and great with my young kids while my wife and I shopped. Icebreaker clothing speaks for itself, but their excellent customer service continually raises the bar! read more

I love this brand but had a very disappointing experience in this store. The new manager Caitlin was quite rude and unprofessional. I know this Icebreaker store has had some turnover recently - not all too surprising given my impression of this manager's leadership and customer service acumen.
