Lifesavers. I know I speak for many people when I point out that our phones, for better or for worse, are pretty much our lives. When my phone smashes into a metal table shattering the screen and rendering it unusable (the day before a major work event, at that), my life is suddenly at a standstill. I panic. I definitely didn't expect someone to lie to my face with as much composure as the person who "fixed" my phone yesterday. I had an iPhone X with the famous green line on the screen. Was told they would replace it with an OLED screen for $120 and then $130 for some reason. I accepted this, and came back with my phone to get it done (yesterday, 9/20). Was told it would cost $140, and when I mentioned the other price I was told $130 was ok. That should have been my queue to go elsewhere. She replaced my screen with a screen that was SCRATCHED all over. Had the nerve to tell me she had put a screen protector over it as a courtesy, when it was because she was trying to hide the lie. Awful experience. Today I went back to return this awful screen and get my old screen back since it wasn't broken and it worked - they had thrown it out and this is what I left with (see pics). Here is the deal: you don't come here for an apple screen, you come here for a discount repair. They replaced my iPhone 7 cracked screen for $40 less than apple would have. The new screen they installed is slightly noticeably different quality than whatever apple uses. It isn't as vibrant in color, and some areas aren't as lightening fast in responsiveness... that's ok because I knew this going in, and saved money. I've had my iphone 6 screen replaced twice here and I couldn't be more satisfied. Im careless with my phone so having a reliable repair place is a necessity! The service here is fast and friendly and I have had zero issues with the screens. Its an aftermarket screen, so not exactly the same as the original but a great value for the price (I used a groupon for one of them). They do other repairs besides screens so when its time for a new iphone battery, I will definitely be returning. This unassuming middle of the aisle kiosk changed out my iphone 5s battery in 5 minutes, and then gave it basic charge in 20 min more. Bit more than my original estimate of $45, ($53 total) but they were courteous and helpful, so I didn't argue over it. The screen cover had a small chip in it, but not really noticeable. The owner was able to take my Samsung Galaxy S8 phone, which I'd dropped the night before and showed the Black Screen of Death, and fix it with a working screen that seems even better than my original one, for a fair price given what had to be done. Was having problems with my iPad charging and connecting to the internet. Dropped off my cell on a Saturday. The tech was able to clearly articulate the problem and the fix. Called Sunday evening to inform me the repair was completed and ready for pickup. My iPad now changes and connects to the my WiFi with no issues. I've noted two issues since getting my iPad, that is a degradation of m screen appearance (looks like a smudge on the screen) and loss in responsiveness in the touch screen; but it is not my everyday iPad. I had a horrible experience with these people. Horrible. Horrible. They ruined my iPhone 6s. I had it 2-3years without any problems. Then I changed the battery this January. They sell Chinese made cheap battery and they will say it is as good as apple battery. Don't believe them. I started having battery issues for the last week. It was charging fast and loosing its power faster. I went to the kiosk in pentagon city mall. She opened it up and showed me how bad the battery was. And she claimed that I used the phone too much. I was speechless. H I tried to explain to her that I have been using my phone the same way I have always used it for since I bought it 2-3yrs ago. She then said maybe you used a charger not compatible with iPhone. I said I always used original apple chargers. And cables. Then she said you have a portable charger. I said that portable charger has been my life saver since I started having issues with your bad battery. She called her boss and she said you have to pay full price otherwise we won't be able to change it. I said that's fine. I will not make the same mistake second time. She then tried to close my phone and she couldn't. She said battery is bad and expanded in the phone and she said she cannot close the phone completely. Oh my god. I got home and my phone was totally dead. The side of my iPhone has a gap which I didn't have it before she opened it up. My iPhone 6s is dead. Do not let them touch your phone. You will regret it. I had a horrible experience ANd I hope this would help some one out there. Go someplace else that have better ratings and better warranty. FYI it is not easy to talk to these people. They will say anything to win the argument and they will not help you at all. Stay away from this place. My iphone is totally dead as a result of bad battery. Now I have to go and buy a new iPhone. There's really nothing to complain about here. I basically %&#@ed my phone up and she fixed that mofo correctly. Period. She was patient and explained different things to me about my phone and about the parts she used as well as having a soft and warm attitude the entire time. When I came back later to pick my phone up and the fingerprint reader didn't work, she patiently told me to delete my stored fingerprints and reinstall them because the "operation" reset a bunch of settings. Once I did that...all was well. Fingerprint, retina, swipe, camera, charging port, headphone jack...it all works. The aftermarket part that was used isn't QUITE as good as the original factory screen, but you need to understand that going in. The colors aren't as vibrant and it's not as crisp, but...that's going to happen anywhere you go if it's aftermarket replacement parts. Either go and mail your phone in for an insurance claim and wait for it to come back a few days later or go to a kiosk and get it back in under an hour. The differences aren't a dealbreaker and the very minor tradeoff is worth it. However, like I said...that's the parts...NOT the service. The service is recommended, so it gets 5 stars from me. I expect this 3 year old Samsung S8+ to give me another couple of years of use (as long as I keep the %&#@# thing in a case and stop playing hockey with it in the street). read more

I had my iPhone 6 Plus repaired here and it was a big mistake. The technicians working are not certified Apple repair people. The digitizer they used is cheap and off brand. It made my battery drain quick. The colors were off and the touch responsiveness was dull. When you have sunglasses on, you can't see the screen. I asked them to put my cracked digitizer back on and return the cheap digitizer they put on my phone. They refused and said all sales are final. I wasted $130 on their 'service'. It's $120 to do it at Apple. Go there and you will have a warranty as well as real replacement parts. Not to mention Apple certified technicians who know what they are doing. My response to the owner: Hi Calvin, You must have me confused with someone else. I was never 'advised' to change my battery. The phone was working except for the cracked screen so you saying iCell was 'unable to check the device' is not true. I dealt with two women (one who fixed my phone and one on the phone). You were not part of this and everything you are saying is second hand account from someone else. After dealing with you guys, I went to Cracked Mac Screen in DC. Cracked Mac Screen wouldn't fix it since I went to a non-certified Apple technician before them. They did agree to take off the crappy digitizer you put on, and they generously put on another cracked iPhone screen (which was OEM) on so I could bring it to the Apple Store to get it fixed properly. Guess what? The colors on the screen were accurate again, the battery STOPPED draining, the touch responsiveness was back to normal. All on the cracked screen (that was OEM) they put on. I took the iPhone to the Apple Store in the mall and after a couple of hours I had a brand new digitizer and everything was working fine again on my iPhone. I still have the inferior digitizer you put on my phone. It's collecting dust, but I paid 130 bucks for it so I'm not throwing it out. read more

DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE TO FIX YOUR PHONE!! They are complete crooks. I had my iPhone 6 Plus screen replaced here 2 weeks ago. After about a week of normal usage, no water damage, no drops, I started having issues with the replacement screen. I went back to request a new screen through warranty and they refused. They made a bunch of assumptions that there was "moisture damage" and were extremely rude. They essentially robbed me of $100 and now I have a damaged screen from their faulty parts. Do yourself a favor, go somewhere else. JJ Calvin, couple things: 1. Why would I go to another location and get their opinion, when your business was the one responsible for installing a screen that no longer works. You have my money, not someone else. Take ownership. 2. If you have ever dealt with electronics before, you would understand that it is possible for a product to fail after installation. Because the screen worked when you installed, doesn't mean there wasn't an issue from your suppliers manufacturing. Did you manufacture the part, do you have any proof as to why it is failing? NO!!! And that is the bottom line. 3. I NEVER WRITE REVIEWS ON YELP, but people need to know that you don't stand by what your warranty states. And you are willing to lose business and your reputation for $95. I wouldn't waste my time writing this review, if I didn't feel taken advantage of. I'll make sure you lose business because of this. I really wanted to give these guys 5 stars, but I just couldn't. Pros: 1) Competent: Fixed my screen and seem to have done a good job. Plus, they threw in a screen protector at no extra charge. 2) Cheap: less than Samsung charges for their mail-in service, and ~$100 less than UBreakIFix. 3) Friendly: Just about every time I interacted with them, they were helpful and friendly. They didn't even require a deposit to order the part, which was nice. Cons: 1) I was told the part would be there on Saturday and available for repair then. I called to confirm the part was there Saturday morning and headed down. The plan was to spend the two hours the repair would take in Pentagon City with my wife (brunch, mall, park, etc.). Just as I walk into the building, I got a call saying there was a misunderstanding and the part was actually *not* there and wouldn't be delivered that day. Very frustrating. 2) When I dropped the phone off (12:30), I was told that the repair would take three hours (I guess they were busier that day). I called at 5:00 and was told the phone wasn't ready, and likely wouldn't be ready when I said (at drop-off) I wanted to pick it up (6:00). I was told they'd call me when it was ready. I called again at 6:30 and was told it was ready. Again, pretty frustrating. 3) This one is minor, but at the time of drop-off, they asked for my password so that they could test the screen functionality after the repair. I declined, saying that I have too much sensitive info/files (both work and personal) on my phone. They were oddly insistent. "Oh, we never look at that stuff." I want to give them the benefit of the doubt that it was just because they didn't understand why I was saying no, but it still felt...off somehow.
