So prices for food are different than what is listed on the menu IF you pay with a credit card and there is no warning. Listed price for a roll may say $9, but on the bill it was listed as $9.36. When I asked, I was told $9.36 is the price if you pay with a credit card. So the menu price is for cash transactions, but it's not specified anywhere on the menu. The staff working said she would ask the owner and we were eventually charged the menu price listed since this was not disclosed when we ordered or before getting our bill, but just beware. Also, just know that asking for sriracha is not like asking for soy sauce or salt. A tablespoon of Sriracha is considered a $2 side dish. I didn't realize it was a menu item when I asked for it. So just keep an eye out and ask what's included in your meal and what's considered a separate menu item.

Lovely! It was extremely busy when my boyfriend and I went here, but they still managed to get us seats promptly. We sat at the bar and got to watch the chefs make the sushi, actually, it was extremely interesting! Maybe not everyone's ideal but it was okay with me. Our server was very sweet, she checked in with us often enough that I never felt antsy or as if we lacked anything, but it also didn't feel like she was hovering over us constantly as we ate. We tried a variety, but my favorite roll was the love roll. The mango sounded somewhat unappetizing at first, but they made it work very well! It was subtle yet noticeable and brought out the sweetness in the crab. We wrapped up dinner with some green tea ice cream to share! I could've gone for less whipped cream, but the ice cream was so good that I wasn't too dissatisfied. Overall, great place, especially for the price. I go at least once a month with my family and I've never had a bad experience here. Truly one of the best sushi restaurants in Minnesota. Everything on the menu here is fantastic but I highly recommend the happy roll and the spicy crab salad. Service is great here and there's never too long of a wait. The atmosphere is very nice and relaxed. They also have all you can eat sushi! There's a lot to choose from on this menu, but it really depends on how hungry you are. For some people it could be too much. Sushi is my favorite food by far and I've traveled to many cities, states, and even countries that's sushi didn't compare to this. Out of all the restaurants in this town, I'd definitely suggest this one first. Really great quality, and it exceeds the standards of Rochester. read more

This is my favorite restaurant in Rochester and my favorite sushi restaurant in Rochester. The fish was really fresh and the sushi tasted great. The Beef hibachi was so good and I highly recommend ordering that. The sauce was excellent and the veggies were fresh. The meat was extremely tender. I love sushi and usually get mine from the Cities. I decided to try Ichi after some friends recommended it but I was a little disappointed. They do have a lot of different rolls and an all-you-can-eat sushi meal, but I felt the flavor was lacking. My husband and I ordered 5 rolls. They were beautifully prepared and presented but we really only felt one of them tasted good. The others were just okay. I plan to try them one more time before writing them off completely. read more

I LOVED the atmosphere of the place with dim lighting, yet you could see just fine, and the art work it had was beautiful! I also just love how they do their bento box's, way cute AND delicious! Ichi Tokyo has GREAT sushi rolls! We go there all the time for the rolls, my favorite is shrimp tempura and many of the other specialty rolls! Definitely have to get the fried rice with yum yum sauce on the side.... SO GOOD! The staff is always super friendly and helpful with the menu if needed!
