How did we live here 2 years and not stop in here? The place is big and bright. Not a ton of food but it's all good, I mean really good. The key to success in a place like this is not having the same flavor on everything and not setting the heat on the buffet steamer so high it over cooks everything. They got both right. The flavors are unique for each item so you know they have a spice rack and not just old oil. The spices are not stingy either, my hot and sour soup was like a punch in the face which I loved, but be warned if you are a woos. Found black specks in all the lemonade we ordered and when pointed out to our server she kept trying to bring us new lemonade, which we let her do once and still the same issue with black specks. Have us a hard time taking the drinks off our check even though they had not been drunk because of the black specks. Server expected a tip after giving us a hard time because we didn't want to possibly drink mold and when she saw there wasn't a tip on our checks she snatched them and stormed off with an attitude. Ichiban has been my regular Chinese/Japanese buffet for over 10 years and as of summer 2025 had returned to the full service buffet of pre-COVID. I always come here for plentiful sushi rolls, nigiri and salads, as well as classic Chinese entrees like bbq pork, chicken and broccoli, Orange chicken and more. At dinner, the buffet expands with sashimi and premium fish, as well as hot specialities like soft shell crab, seafood boil and ribs. Offerings on this buffet include: - Sushi bar with a wide assortment of raw and cooked sushi options, including tempura-battered rolls - Hot bars with Asian classics, as well as kid-friendly items like fries, pizza and chicken skewers - Back since 2025 is custom made-to-order hibachi, with steak, chicken, shrimp, pork and krab proteins - tons of pastries and fruit for dessert, as well as ice cream coolers My one recommendation to the team at Ichiban would be to look into updating or at least fixing some of the decor and dining room - I often found deep grooves in the wall where chairs had struck and scraped, and while maintained, the decor has not changed since I first visited in 2013. Took my family of five to Ichiban Buffet with moderate expectations -- unfortunately, it landed squarely in the "just okay" category. The pricing is reasonable, especially for a family outing, but the overall experience left a lot to be desired. The biggest letdown? The staff. Nearly every employee we encountered looked genuinely unhappy to be there. Service was brisk, cold, and far from welcoming -- don't come expecting smiles or hospitality. I'll admit, the name "Ichiban" drew me in because of a great steakhouse I love in Japan. This, however, isn't that. The food was fine, not bad by buffet standards, but the variety was lacking. There's a little bit of everything, but not a lot of anything. Japanese options were minimal -- mostly limited to a basic sushi selection. There is a hibachi station, which seemed to be made to order, but the line stayed long and we opted to skip it. Protein options leaned heavily on chicken and shrimp, with very little beef in sight. A few seafood items were available, but not enough to elevate the spread. The dessert section was probably the most disappointing. Yes, there were lots of ice cream flavors (about 12), but the pastry offerings felt like an afterthought. A few cupcakes still in supermarket plastic containers and a couple of tossed-together items on a table -- it just didn't feel curated or fresh. Bottom line: Ichiban Buffet offers decent value for the price, but if you're looking for a truly satisfying buffet experience -- especially one with standout Japanese fare -- this likely won't hit the mark. The sushi bar was amazing it had every kind of role you could think of in the fish in the crab the nigiri the sashimi everything was so delicious and fresh I ate three complete plates full of sushi no lie. Lol. I also tried the black pepper chicken which was delicious they were constantly stirring things and putting out fresh portions. There was lots of clean plates lots of saving and lots of parking. They had two dessert bars as well as ice cream. They also have a hibachi grill so you can make your own plate and have it cooked on the hibachi. It's definitely a great place for lunch. read more

Good food. However, the waitress unbridled propensity for tips is very worrisome. We had a situation where we offered a tip and was rejected. The waitress was wailing along the restaurant as if payment for the food was the side hustle. We reported this awful display of rudeness to the supervisor who seem to have no control over the staff. The food is fairly good, your standard asian buffet. At the very least, it's good enough to warrant an extra star. Sadly, it's hard to judge how good it really is when the inside of your mouth turns sour thanks to the atrocious service! While the food being okay because of the typical standard of a buffet. Me & 2 other parties were ready to receive the check then continue on with our day. But then, the lady that was servicing us was aggressively trying to make us tip her. We eventually say no solely based on her attitude. In a heat of rage, she gets angry then tell us to clean up our own dishes and leave. Every waitress here forces the diner to tip. To my horror, an employee had a bug wand that zapped flies, nats, and other airborne insects going over the fruit and desert areas allowing the dead to fall into the food. My girlfriend and I were walking down the Kissimmee strip and came across this buffet. It's kind of hard for an Asian food lover to see this place and not check it out. We were seated at a booth and then a waitress got our drink order. I, of course, ordered a Diet Soda. After that, it's self-serve, so we were able to hop right up and get the party started. They had quite a selection of items on different buffet-style tables. To name some of their items, I got the White Rice, Fried Rice, Lo Mein, an Egg Roll, a Spring Roll, General Tso's Chicken, Pepper Chicken, Mongolian Beef, a Chicken Dumpling, Sweet and Sour Chicken, and a big cup of Sweet and Sour Sauce! I pretty much enjoyed everything, except for the Pepper Chicken, Chicken Dumpling, and General Tso's Chicken. It seemed as if everything had great quality for a buffet, except these items. I also tried my girlfriend's Caesar Salad that she concocted and it was pretty dang good! For dessert, I tried the coconut macaroon-type cookies, a round chocolate-dipped pastry, and the lemon cake-type items. They didn't label exactly what they were. The cookies were really good. I didn't care for the chocolate pastry. The lemon cakes were okay. They were really soft. They did also have ice cream available, but I didn't try any of that. The service was prompt and friendly. She got me refills and got us more forks when we needed them. They do use plastic forks here, which I would say is more on the plus side. Overall, this buffet is a good stop if you're vacationing in the area. With so much to do on the Kissimmee strip, I'd try to end your day with this buffet. It's sure to fill your stomach, so plan on heading to the hotel right after for much needed rest. It worked out well for me, so I'll probably come back in the future. read more
