WHY ON EARTH DOES THIS PLACE ONLY HAVE 3 STARS?!?!? When rating a place on Yelp, obviously the food is the number one consideration. I also factor in the price. This is a $14/per person buffet (Dinner price and that includes tax). Where can you even get a meal for $14 anymore?? We came here the other night. When you walk in, you are instructed to use hand sanitizer and take a pair of gloves. Masks are required. It's a really big restaurant so I would imagine they can seat 100+ people even with only 50% capacity. The food was really great (for $14 all you can eat). They have a whole section of sushi rolls, sashimi, and nigiri. The sushi wasn't the best quality but it was good (again, refer to my rant about the pricing). The hot food was actually very good. Probably some of the better Chinese buffet offerings I've had. The Mongolian Beef was probably my favorite as it had a nice spicy kick to it. They also had a wide variety of chicken dishes, a whole section with fried food (wings, egg rolls, crab Rangoon, etc), seafood, soups, a salad bar and a dessert bar. Don't skip out on the ice cream! Very middle of the road Chinese buffet. No complaints but can't give any raving compliments. Sushi options were plentiful and appeared/tasted fresh. Nice soup selection. All of the seafood I had (chilled shrimp, boiled crawfish, fried crab, cooked mussels) were all very good. Typical buffet selections which were all hot and seemed replenished often but found some of them with sauce like the orange chicken to be overly sweet compared to what I'm used too. I think the lo mein may have actually just been spaghetti noodles but they were still fine. Waitress brought me two drinks to start with since it was a hot day which was nice as the first one was gone quickly and she refilled it as I was about halfway through the second but after that she kinda disappeared and I had to flag someone down for the bill. Ichiban is like seeing a very cute person but finding out they have an ugly personality...because you see the food steaming but it doesn't even taste good. On the way home from the amusement parks, we saw all these billboards and signs with crab legs and this buffet... but everything was just a bite of disappointment. Nothing was fresh whatsoever. Never have I ever bit into something and was scared of the taste of freshness This is like any ordinary Chinese buffet. It does have some things that most buffets I've been to don't have but still.... the stuffed oysters didn't even have oysters in them, the shrimp tempura wasn't even shrimp but it was imitation crab... The best thing about this restaurant is that the oysters are plentiful. Some taste too slimy, but most taste decent. The service is good but the food does not over compensate. One of my favorite Chinese buffets, Ichiban has a nice selection for everyone. I tend to visit when I'm having a sushi craving, but everything there is great. Sure, most of it is your standard generic Chinese buffet food lacking and significant spices or deep flavor, but it's hot, fresh and done well. What more can you ask for from a Chinese buffet?! For the price point it's a great experience and value. If you're looking for fancy sit down, look elsewhere. This will feed your family affordably and you don't worry about everyone getting sick like so many other sketchier places. I just miss their old hibachi setup. Awesome! For the price you pay, you definitely get your monies worth. They had a crawfish boil on the line. All you can eat! It was delicious! We got what we expected. The buffet offered a wide assortment of Asian style and American cuisine that was passable- not great but not bad. The sushi seemed clean enough and tasted mediocre but the assortment was minimal. 4-5 krab options and 1-2 tuna-passing options, though they state that the rolls change every hour. As for the non-sushi options, anything that was fried (ie General Sao's, sweet and sour chix, sesame balls, etc) was very doughy, and you could taste the fry oil. The food was palatable and nothing more. In addition, there was a gentleman refilling the seaweed salad who wore their mask as a chin diaper, NOT as an actual mask, which leads me to wonder what their kitchen looks like. Ichiban is a typical Chinese buffet. The first thing I noticed when I walked in was not the food, but, the dirty slippery floors. You can slide along the floor to whatever food you want to retrieve. I almost wiped out walking to the restroom. Dirty, slippery floors brings back memories of the Chinese restaurants that my parents used to take me to. The best ones always had the dirtiest, most disgusting floors. Fortunately, I don't rate restaurants by the floors. They have sushi, all kinds of cooked Chnese food, and a limited selection of American food. Eating sushi, or anything raw in a Chinese restaurant is always something that is scary to me. I did try some of the sushi. I didn't get sick, so it must've been okay. They even have a teppanyaki section where they will cook chicken, beef, fish, and other stuff for you. The food was okay here, if you have low expectations like I did. Service was interesting. They cleared our plates whenever necessary, and they did keep our cups filled with water. However, the waitresses did give us attitude because we did not speak Chinese to them. When we asked them in Chinese how they figured out the bill, they told us that they were Chinese and that they wouldn't cheat us. We had a coupon for 10% off. What they did was they added the tax into our meals first, then they deducted the 10%. Most places deduct the 10% then add the tax. If you are not Chinese, I guess they won't give you an attitude. Ichiban Buffet! Make sure you wear shoes that are non slipping, or non skidding. Come with low expectations and you will be pleasantly surprised. Normally, buffets are not my cup of tea -- I always feel like I have to eat my money's worth, and that results in me hating myself at the end of the meal. But I don't really ever feel like that here. So I think this has to be my favorite buffet. I've been to Ichiban Buffet a few times now with my family and I feel like it's a great value for the price. They have a good selection of foods: typical Chinese restaurant dishes, sushi, seafood, some American foods (steak, stuffed mushrooms, pizza, etc). My favorites: the raw oyster bar, fresh sushi (they have nigiri and sashimi, almost unheard of in a buffet), crawfish, clams, and crab legs. Their fruit and dessert bar aren't too shabby either: fresh fruit, canned fruit, cakes, cookies, pudding, jello, and ice cream w/ toppings. I also love their servers. There was one time where I went two days in a row (my dad, on the other hand, LOVES buffets), and our waitress from the day before actually recognized us. She even dropped by our table to check up on us, even though we weren't in her section. They also clear up empty plates super quick (a blessing, since I usually eat my weight in raw oysters and crawfish) and refill drinks before they're even empty. This restaurant is in a super-touristy part of Kissimmee, so it might get crowded sometimes; but even so, I've never waited longer than 10 minutes (even with a large group -- 7 or more). Fun Fact: If you listen to the music, it's a mix of soothing piano pieces by Yiruma, piano covers of pop songs (Taylor Swift's Love Story), and some anime soundtracks as well. read more

The food was typical Chinese buffet food, nothing to rave about. However I made sure to check in so I could review the customer service. When we went to check out, the waiter stood by my date as he wrote in the tip amount, looked up at him with a sneer of disgust and huffed away. She then went and showed another waitress the check, pointed at us and shook her head. What she didn't know was that he was planning to leave her a nice trip in cash but her attitude definitely changed that. Man oh man the reviews here are roughhhh. I know everyone has different experiences at any restaurant but damn! That said, I've really never had a "truly bad" experience here. I can tell you I've been to FAR WORSE buffets. To be honest this place for me would be 4/5 because I personally think the food is good (for what it is). Also the lunch buffet is like $12 per person. Very reasonable. Not to mention they have sushi included in that price. Is it the best sushi?? Absolutely not, but I mean...you should know what you're getting yourself into ahead of time....or you should. The choice for 3/5?....inconsistencies. Food rotation needs to be a priority at a buffet and sometimes they lack in this department. You may have a time where everything is fresh and is firing on all cylinders....or....you may have room temp food all night. Also the wait staff drives me CRAZYYYY when they just linger around my table for my money. Give me space!! Overall, I like it here.
