We went to this restaurant a few times and really enjoyed the service and the great tasting food. The hibachi plates at the restaurant are all great but we mostly enjoyed the sushi rolls. As far as the Hibachi Grill side, our kids loved it and the staff were very friendly. It is a great place to unwind and enjoy dinner with friends or the family.

I have only eaten here once - but from what I remember, I liked it. Traveling to Ft Leavenworth quarterly, you find yourself often driving to KCMO for dinner. There just is not a lot going on (dinner wise) in Lansing-Leavenworth. Fortunately, I found this little sushi spot. It is a pretty common "westernized" sushi place. But that's ok, because I'm a western fella. The service was fine; no issues there and nothing to report (negative or positive). The ambiance was decent. Again, a very typical westernized weapon of a Japanese sushi place with very heavy Korean influences, and I think I even saw some Thai options? The menu looks like the establishment-just everything Asian lol. But again, I don't mind. As long as it's all clean and sanitized and it was. I enjoyed the food. I always like a good old Philly Role, Spicy Tuna and all that. Add cheese wonton on the side? I'm sold. For a landlocked location like Lansing Kansas, I felt like the sashimi was as surprisingly fresh. I mean, it wasn't sitting on the rocks in Osaka kinda fresh... but it was surprisingly fresh and good for being in Kansas. Good for them! That's a whole star right there! I have to travel to the Army Post here frequently, and I think I'll be back next time I go. It's decent sushi, and 1 mile from the hotel, as opposed to 30 minutes to anything in KCMO.

Excellent, fun experience. They were very good to work with food allergies. We had younger children and the chef really played and "toned down" the parts where they may be scared by. A great experience. Prices were very reasonable for the amount of food served.

Very busy on a Friday night and a fun experience. We hadn't been here in years - it is loud. We brought our international officer as this is always a fun experience. The hibachi chefs are always engaging! Dinner & a show with the freshest food prepared right in front of you

Did the hibachi the other night to celebrate our family visitors. We had a great time. Food as always was great. The guy who did the hibachi had a great personality. The server was amazing and handled everything very well.

Not one to go out of my way to review but my take out was repulsive. I'm fat and I still would rather go hungry than eat this. Hibachi chicken tastes like they boiled the chicken and then took watered down sauce and put it in the box. Veggies with this tasted raw and flavorless. Fried rice is a flavor combination of pepper, soy sauce, and MORE pepper. My soup tasted like a 4:1 ratio of water to soy sauce with slivers of mushroom. My husband said the sushi at the grocery store tastes better and is presented better than what we received If you just moved here, don't bother. The food was so bad, I'm now curious if the store has other businesses in the back keeping it open

Came from out of town for work and needed a place to eat lunch. Made 4 take out orders. 3 of 4 were wrong and had very small portions. One order was so covered in pepper it could not be eaten. Another received the order incorrectly and had to return the food for corrections. Another 20 mins there and back! For the price paid, this was not worth the time or money. Quality and taste below average....Go elsewhere!

Great food. Great service. Very showy atmosphere. Not too far from KCK. Easy to find.

Filthy and unclean. Rude and slow service. The sushi tasted like cleaning chemicals. I ate one piece and gagged because of it. They still tried to charge me for the roll. This place is truly awful.

Japanese steakhouse with hibachi grills, entertaining chefs, and great food. Feel free to sit around the hibachi grills or in the regular dining area and enjoy everything from freshly prepared steak to sushi. The service is generally excellent and the prices are more than fair based on porrtion size. Make sure to take a second at the front to review their daily specials, personal favorite is the Volcano roll, and sit back and enjoy a sake.

Move the couch from the lobby that appears to be someone's bed after hours. It was very off-putting.

Ichiban? How about ichiWRONG! Much better sushi options in Lansing. However, the hibachi guy seemed cool.

Meh. The food itself was good. But I always associate a Japanese Steak House with yum yum sauce, theirs was mediocre.

Every menu item feels very intentional and well executed. The offerings on the cocktail menu are fabulous. Both the ube and lychee cocktails are delicious. My partner and his mom both had a sake flight, each offering was delicious and different in offering. If you like sake you will definitely find one you like with this flight! They both ended up liking a yuzu sake and split a bottle, the finish was sweet, crisp and perfect for the Kansas City heat. I started with an espresso martini, the coffee flavor was strong and sweet and I was a fan! During our meal I opted for a martini corner dirty vodka martini and as a dirty martini enthusiast I was very pleased and will continue to recommend! I finished off with a matcha martini that was sweet, creamy and smooth and paired perfectly with our tempura banana! Speaking of food, the star of the show, we genuinely had only good bites here as usual. We sat at the bar on the corner, it was a nice seat that captured the energy of the restaurant, busy but somehow tranquil. Our bartender was great as well as all the staff behind the bar and host stand! I especially appreciate the patience of our bartender, we came and ordered many rounds of small plates, (you should do the same!) and he was nothing but enthusiastic and helpful. To start we had some furikake fries and shishito peppers. There are a lot of exciting and multilayed dishes on the menu, I think these two humble sides though really pack a punch and show that everything on the menu brings it's A game. From there the food ordering escalated as everyone in my group was over the top excited. The stand outs for me were, the dry aged salmon nigiri, the toro hand roll, the crab apple roll and my group was especially blown away by the scallops and are still talking about them a week later! Noka is in my opinion, really bringing a new level of dining to Kansas City. I'm not over stating it to say it is one of a kind in this city and everyone should try to get in.

Every detail feels intentional, from the plating and presentation to the atmosphere itself. As someone who appreciates design, Noka absolutely delivers. Food-wise, there were two undeniable stars of the night: * Wagyu Nigiri (100/10) - One of the best bites I've ever had. Rich, buttery, perfectly balanced, and worth ordering every single time. * Crab Campanelli (11/10) - Absolutely incredible. Comfort food elevated to fine dining quality. If I came back tomorrow, I'd order this again without hesitation. Other highlights: * Filet (10/10) - Beautifully cooked, incredibly flavorful, and paired with perfectly prepared bok choy. Everything on the plate felt intentional. * Night Market Wings (8.5/10) - The quality was excellent. The sweet heat profile just wasn't exactly my personal preference, but that's purely subjective. If you enjoy spicy food with a lingering, slightly numbing heat, you'll probably love these. * Shrimp Tempura Roll (8/10) - Very good and executed well. * Tuna Roll (7/10) - Good, but it was the least memorable item compared to some of the standout dishes we ordered. Noka excels at creating a complete dining experience. Beautiful atmosphere, thoughtful presentation, excellent service, and several dishes that genuinely surprised us. For a special occasion, date night, or anyone looking for an elevated dining experience in Kansas City, it's absolutely worth a visit.
