I ordered takeout and went with the triple steak, shrimp and chicken combo. In addition it came with fried rice, noodles, carrots, broccoli, onions, mushrooms, zucchini, & Yum Yum sauce. It's for sure not as good as going to get hibachi at a typical restaurant where you see your food being cooked in front of a chef, but it still tasted pretty good! This spot will scratch that hibachi itch without going through the full fledge experience

I had high hopes for IchibanGO since it's close by, the photos looked great, and the reviews were generally positive. Unfortunately, my experience didn't live up to expectations. I ordered the hibachi bowl with chicken and steak, and both proteins were extremely overcooked--well beyond well done. The steak was tough, and the chicken was dry, which really took away from the dish. The chicken fried rice were just okay, nothing memorable. The yum yum sauce was also disappointing; it tasted like a knock‑off version and lacked the flavor you'd expect. To make matters worse, I had a slight stomach ache for most of the afternoon after eating. The atmosphere was another drawback. It was very loud inside, likely due to the high ceilings, and the music was blasting to the point where it was uncomfortable. That said, I'm not writing this place off completely. I love hibachi, and the concept is right up my alley, so I'm willing to come back and give it another chance. Hopefully next time the food and overall experience are better.

Make my own bowl with shrimp fried rice, steak and lots of sauces lol

Great food for the price the customer service was a 10. The over appearance was clear for a dine in or take out.

You won't find the Americanized dishes like General Cao's chicken, but you will find one of the best presented but also deliciously tasted Peking duck - one of the most recognizable and celebrated Chinese dishes. I also love that they serve many dishes in porcelain chafing dishes to keep food warm, as foods taste better when they are kept warm. My personal favorites: lobster steamed with egg, eggplant and string bean stir fry and happy family soup. The desserts are great too. Check out photos for more. Ambiance: This is the standout among Chinese restaurants in Michigan. Many Chinese restaurants are out-dated. It is like you step into restaurants in China in 1990s. This gives you a more current fine-dining experience atmosphere. The large video screen in the main dining room also allows you to customize the image or video for your occasion, should you choose to celebrate a special event there. Service: It is not top notch, but it is get job done. The servers are friendly. Noteworthy: There are two floors. Their sign is easy to see as you drive by, but my friend did give me a heads up that their door was not obvious. You need to walk through a fence and then open a non deacript door. The artwork outside is awesome! When we walked in we received a friendly greeting and were quickly shown to our seats. We had made a reservation ahead of time and there was no delay to seat us upon our arrival. Our server was friendly and took our drink orders right away. I appreciated that they had multiple non alcoholic drinks and at a fair price. I started with the Thai Iced tea which was delicious, but I would have loved a glass 2x the size! We ordered multiple dishes to share amongst us. I did ask the server how many dishes they recommended that we order as I wasn't sure of the size. The items are brought out as they are made, so we had food being dropped off to is at random intervals. The only slight issue we experienced was when someone else tried to bring a plate of squid to our table. We let them know that we had not ordered it. They then went and talked to our server, who brought the squid back to our table. We also let them know that we had not ordered that dish. Our server did bring back our order slip and looked it over, and I believe at that point they realized that we really had not ordered that dish and just weren't rejecting it. I am not sure if it had been written wrong, communicated to the kitchen wrong, or what but we did have to state multiple times that we had not ordered it. The rest of our dishes arrived correctly. The crispy chive cakes were great, and the sticky spare ribs were AMAZING. The caramel glaze on the outside of the ribs was so good, and they were tender as well. The outside was super crispy. I would absolutely ordered these again. I would say that both of those dishes were only for 2 people. The sticky rice and jasmine rice were as to be expected, and I personally felt that the papaya salad was not as good as others I have had. The chilli noodles had an amazing broth and I would also recommend. Overall, I did enjoy our dinner but I am not sure that I would go out of my way to return. I am rounding up to 4 stars based on the sticly ribs alone, otherwise a 3.5 would be more fair. I have been hearing about Takoi for years, so maybe my epxections were too high but I was expecting a bit more.

We had reservations and when we walked in it was quite empty but it is a very inviting environment, the music was soft and smooth and the people were nice. The menu is small but it does have some interesting menu items. It was very quiet inside, kind of awkwardly quiet and we sat next to people but the tables are quite close together, we could literally hear everything they were saying and they could hear us and we were talking in whispers. For a cocktail, I ordered the Enamorah Old Fashioned, if you are a bourbon lover then you will love this, it is a Woodford Reserve with the cherry cask taste, it was amazing! Definitely worth it. Then I ordered the Short Rib Bao Buns and Teriyaki Bourbon Chicken (got to keep the bourbon flowing). Now before I mention the food I have to say first that it isn't too often, maybe literally once every couple years that food shocks me because I have eaten every food type you can think of so there isn't too much that can intrigue me to want to try it, ok so now let's carry on with the review. So the Short Rib Bao Buns were nothing short of perfection. The pineapples gave it a phenomenal tropical taste and the bun itself was soft, chewy and buttery, the rib meat was tender, flavorful and easy to chew. I can't describe the taste you just have to try it yourself. Now let's get to this Teriyaki Bourbon Chicken. Mannnnnn, let me tell ya, there isn't foods that give me goosebumps much but this did it. It came with Collard Greens, the chicken and Mashed Potatoes and then had a an extra dribble of teriyaki sauce to mix with it. The Chicken & the Collard Greens went well together, the mashed potatoes & the Chicken went well together, the mashed potatoes & the collard greens went well together, I mean everything was top tier as you could want it. Now they do have gratuity already added but it is definitely worth the meal. This is a place you have to come and try and then wonder what you're gonna have next time when you come because it is THAT good. If I could give this 7 stars I would.

However, what really ruined the occasion was how the restaurant handled the birthday cake. When it was time to bring out the cake that we had brought with us, our table was still covered with dirty and empty plates from dinner. Instead of clearing the table and preparing for the celebration, the staff simply placed the cake on the table and walked away. We then had to flag someone down to ask for a knife so we could cut the cake. We also needed clean plates and forks, but instead of providing them, the staff brought us small plastic takeout containers and suggested that we serve the cake in those boxes. At that point, I was genuinely upset. We asked them to repackage the cake, took it with us, and ended up celebrating elsewhere. For a restaurant that regularly hosts birthday celebrations, this level of service was surprising and unacceptable. In most restaurants, staff help make the occasion special by clearing the table, providing plates and utensils, and assisting with serving the cake. None of that happened here. We've celebrated several birthdays at Nara over the years because it was our son's favorite restaurant, but after this experience, we won't be returning.
