Vegan friendly fresh roll (like salad wrapped inside)
    Dawn V.

My husband enjoyed the pad Thai, not greasy at all, dry but flavorful and the Tom yum soup. The good news on the apple salad is that you get a lot of chicken in it for the price, the bad news is that we ordered it vegan-friendly, (see pics). The fresh roll did turn out vegan friendly- would've preferred to order it with tofu but the online ordering was not allowing tofu selection for some reason. (Might be out)

I ordered the Fried Rice with Chicken and asked for added Broccoli. What came was basically a container of rice , a couple pieces of under cooked broccoli, a little bit of chicken and no texture and looks like it was never even stir fried. I can say the spring roll was fantastic. in short, I paid extra for chicken and for brocolli but got very little and the fried rice was not fried , flavorless and very unappealing.

Yum! I ordered catering through ezcater for work, and the food was hot, fresh, and delivered on time. Everything we ordered was yummy - drunken noodles, chicken lettuce wraps, chicken satay, and veggie curry. The spice levels are accurate - I ordered a 6 level for the curry, and it was decently spicy but not too spicy for a group. The sauces were also really yummy and the order comes with extra spice powder on the side as well. The dishes were perfectly seasoned and the satay was tender and moist, not dry at all. The veggie curry was so flavorful and full of fresh veggies. Perfect! We are definitely looking forward to ordering from them often, and I would for sure go back myself the next time I am in Royal Oak.

Due to a last minute change of plans we decided to meet one of our friends here for lunch. I wasn't familiar with Bangkok Cuisine although I had driven by here many times but hadn't eaten here before. It has a small dining area with two 4-tops and two 2-tops as well as a couple of stools at the counter. I think there are a lot of carry out orders but we were early and it wasn't busy yet and we ate in. We stepped up to the counter and reviewed the menu to decide what to order. My wife chose a Vegetable Curry Mild with Shrimp added and I ordered my standard first-time dish Red Curry Shrimp Medium. Our friend got the Pad Prik with Pork also Medium and an order of Egg Rolls to share. The Egg Rolls came out first and fast so I tried one. Being allergic to peanuts I asked for some Hoisin Sauce instead. They were hot, crispy, loaded, and delicious without being overly greasy. Then the main dishes came out. They all had plentiful portions and the medium was medium and the mild was mild! So many places can't seem to get this right. The chef actually brought the orders out to us himself and everyone was friendly and made us feel welcome. The taste of my Red Curry was exactly what I was looking for. My wife was impressed with the variety of vegetables that were in her dish. I might normally passed over this place as I look for higher ratings and lots of them. But I'm so glad we were able to try them and we will probably be back.

Eating at a lot of Thai restaurant, I know good Thai food. My son is even a Thai cook. Bangkok at this location is top notch. Good food. Perfectly cooked. Good recipe. Very busy! And from what I know, owned by authentic Thai people. FYI, Thai owned restaurant for Thai food is the best! The place is small, but the food is exceptionally good. There are plenty of Thai restaurant in the area. This is the first Thai place you should try. You will not be disappointed. In fact, lots of doctors and nurses come here for take out. Highly recommended!

I liked the question "what Spicy level do you want ... (mild/medium/spicy)" for each dish. Decent sized portions and tasty food. The many and varied Pad Thai plates beckoned and we tried the omlette Pad Thai which was delicious and piping hot. Chicken Tom Yum soup and shrimp fried rice also were pleasurable. The atmosphere is really casual - the layout is more of a cafe than a formal dining room. I would definitely return and with friends.

To start, we got moo krob (deep fried pork belly) which is the Thai version of Chinese siu yook. I have to say, I like siu yook so much more - it's a lot more flavorful having been marinated with five spice and served with delicious sweet hoisin sauce for dipping. The pork here was bland and the sauce (fish sauce based) was pretty one note. For my entree, I got rad na (rice noodles with gravy, Chinese broccoli, carrots, and choice of meat - I got pork) which was one of the best I've ever had! They used fresh rice noodles and sautéed it properly to give it the "wok hei" (wok-seared flavor). The gravy was deep and flavorful and the portion size was very good. If everything else was as good as my entree, I'd give this restaurant 5 stars. Unfortunately, my mom's Kao mun gai (steamed chicken with rice and "special sauce") was awful. She asked if the dish had any spice because she can't do spicy, and the server said no, so she decided she'd try it. The chicken was way overcooked and dry, with no flavor at all. The sauce, the only thing providing flavor and moisture, was spicy so that she couldn't eat it. We asked if there was any sauce she could get instead that wasn't spicy, and they said no, but they can give us a bottle of soy sauce. So my mom used some of that, and also took some of my rad na gravy. But because the chicken was so dry and bland, it was beyond saving. My dad got the Thai basil fried rice, mild spice. It was definitely hotter than other Thai restaurants' mild, and my dad said the spice overwhelmed the other flavors. I tried some of it and it was not bad, but nothing remarkable. They told us that traditionally, it's served with the rice on the side, which was strange to me because then it's not fried rice - it's sautéed meat and veggies with rice on the side. I am curious about how some of the other dishes taste here, but it's a shame that 3/4 of the things we ordered were mediocre to downright bad. While I enjoyed my entree, I felt bad my parents didn't enjoy their food.

I love this place, the staff is always so friendly and have often popped out with my take out to my car. I've come too early before and they've offered to let me sit in my car and they'd bring it out to me when I'm ready. That's service! The food is always fresh and flavorful. We love the pad Thai with tofu for the kids and we go back and forth with curries and noodle dishes ourselves. Spice level here is standard and you can get it on the side if you're so inclined which is nice to amp it up on your own terms. Crab rangoons are still the best here with the green onion really perking up the cream cheese inside. Can't go wrong with any of the dishes. The community know about this place now so wait times are a little closer to 25-30 min during peak dinner times so plan accordingly for take out. They do have a small indoor seating area with a couple tables and bar seating but this is mostly a take out restaurant. Enjoy!

Ordered appetizer sampler, and tom yum soup, pad Thai, chicken and steamed tofu and veggies, extra hot, Thai basil with chicken and added mushrooms, medium spicy. $58.10 The chicken dumpling and the crab wonton are all cold, what in the world! The second try of the chicken dumplings were warmer and not bad. The crab cheese wonton is so-so, the cheese is not cream cheesy as expected, not sure if there is something else in there. Hardly any crab at all. The plum sauce is like a syrup, runny and super sticky and oh so messy. The Thai sauce and the basil sauce are both quite sweet too. The pad basil is good, good heat, lots of green peppers and carrots. The chicken is overcooked, it's a good thing it's swimming in sauce then. The tom yum soup was good, quite spicy for medium spice. Service is very good here, super warm, friendly and really want to give you a good experience.

I ordered the Pad See Yu, and it was stupid good. The sauce had a hint of sweetness to it, and a healthy portion of beef, shrimp, chicken and pork. I didn't feel "cheated out" on anything like many other restaurants leave you feeling on combo dishes like this (see the photo). The dumplings come in 6, and we ordered both the steamed and pan fried. I failed to procure a photo of them, but these are the old school pot stickers - thicker dough and well made. Depending upon your mood, I could suggest either the steamed or the fried, but steamed is probably my fav. The egg rolls were crunchy and were not overly oiled, which means this restaurant cares enough to change their fry oil, ensuring that the guest has a better meal, rather than trying to stretch every last drop of an oil batch. I don't remember what everyone else got, but there were no complaints from the varied dishes I DO remember - Beef & Broccoli, Shrimp Egg Foo Young, Kung Pau and more. I'll most certainly be coming to this establishment again in the near future, and couldn't recommend to you more ordering here yourself.
