Cozy environment! Love supporting a local mom and pop shop! Service was wonderful and food came out quickly. Got some interesting fusions of sushi. Overall, i enjoyed the sushi and atmosphere!

I really wanted to love this place, but there were little drawbacks that just didn't work out. First off they put Spicy Mayo on pretty much everything which just overwhelms any other flavors. The Takoyaki tasted like it was frozen. The only Maki I enjoyed was the Autumn Maki, but to be honest it's pretty hard to mess up something with shrimp tempura in it. The Winter Maki was super weird, if they didn't tell you it had scallop you would've had no idea what you were tasting (it definitely didn't taste like scallop). And the salmon nigiri was meh, not terrible but not the greatest quality salmon you will have. The service was amazingggg tho, our lady was so nice and the food came out fast.

2 orders of salmon sashimi and 1 order of uni

Hidden gem in Milton. Their maki rolls are unique and most importantly, fresh. The Taki Maki is perfect for fried oyster lovers like myself. Highly recommend the Owl and Four Seasons Maki!! Salmon sashimi came in thick cuts that were extremely satisfying. And last but not least, the uni nigiri was 10/10.

A rare find in Milton! Salmon sashimi came in thick, fresh pieces. Totally worth the price. Uni for $4/piece was creamy and sweet. Loved all of the rolls we ordered..especially the Four Season Maki, Owl Maki, and Taki Maki!!! Would recommend ordering take out, yum.

Christmas Maki with mushy salmon on top

I have not learned my lesson, I tried them again today and it was disgusting. The sushi rice was mushy and not holding up when you picked it up to eat. The salmon on the top was not fresh and tasted like paste and the shrimp had a fish odor. I promise I will not return, I deserve to receive edible food for the amount they charge for sushi. This 1 roll the Christmas maki was $16.95. And not worth the time to go pick it up. Yuck

    Spicy tuna

The wife really wanted to try it. I was hesitant since I was going to have to refinance my mortgage to get a few maki rolls. Anyway I gave into my wife like I always do and we refinanced. $97 for 3 rolls, edamame and chicken teriyaki. Didn't need the arm and leg it cost me since I'd be sitting down to eat and only needed one arm to use the chopsticks so it ended up being fine. Really tho, the spicy tuna roll had the smallest piece of tuna in it. Don't know how you can mess up a sweet potato roll but it was awful. The chicken teriyaki was inedible and came with uncooked vegetables. In all the sushi places I've ever ordered I've never gotten raw vegetables with a hot meal. The last roll (lobster with raw pieces of tuna and salmon on top) was actually pretty good. The presentation was nice but the food did not come close to the price or presentation. Would not recommend

Best sushi spot in Milton! Perfect for lunch. My boyfriend and I came for lunch before our hike at blue hills. Parking may be a challenge we were lucky to find street parking. The restaurant was empty and quiet on a Saturday but don't let that deter you. My boyfriend and I got a booth by the window and we ordered a Sake Ikura Don (Japanese rice bowl with salmon sashimi and salmon roe) and a chirashi don. The meal came with a salad and miso soup. They served us water with lemon. Overall we would rate it a 4.5/5.

    Great green tea!
    Cyndy K.

Cyndy's Bottom Line: authentic high quality Japanese food. We stopped in for a quick bite to eat before a wedding reception. This is what we ate: Green tea - savory and delicious. Gyoza - delicious and excellently cooked. The best gyoza I've had outside of Tokyo! Sake sashimi - well cut Scottish salmon sashimi. A generous and unctuous slice. Salmon avocado roll - nicely rolled, perfect ratio of fish to rice. Good quality rice. Delicious! I will definitely be back on my next visit! Arigato & Mahalo!

    Lunch Special

$8.00 lunch special. What a deal! The miso soup was excellent. Salad was decent. The selection of sushi in the special ranged from tuna, salmon, yellow tail and crab stick. Then a tuna maki on the side. For an additional item we got a unagi eel roll that was the biggest and best we ever had. The sushi was good quality. I was very pleased with everything Service was attentive. There were two sushi chefs behind the counter that were pleasant, even offering to change the tv channel for us. Food was brought out quickly then cleared quickly. The inside of the sushi area was impeccable. The prices were great. The location was very convenient with easy parking on the street. This will definitely be a go to place when in the area.

The food quality is above average, the execution is high, and the service is attentive. The space is clean and efficient, but lacks warmth. We visited the day after a large 1-2 foot snowstorm, and Ochi was one of the only restaurants open in town. I've eaten at Ochi 4x since it opened in 2023, although there's a lot more to explore on its expansive and prolific menu. On this visit, we tried a Tuna Poke Bowl, a Salmon Pome Bowl, a Katsu Ramen, a Mango Salad, and a Mochi desert. Regarding the Tuna Poke Bowl, Ochi took the liberty of substituting more expensive fatty tuna (Toro), for regular tuna (Maguro), a generous and appreciated gift as a thanks for dining on a very slow night due to the storm. Hence, I would recommend everything we tried: the Mango Salad, any of the Sushi, Sashimi and Maki choices, the Poke bowls and Ramen (especially the Spicy Miso Ramen, the chicken Katsu Ramen, and any of the traditional pork or beef Ramen choices). In addition, the deserts are especially worth trying, and are all well orchestrated. You can't really go wrong at Ochi.

Location is great, there were able 2 employees working the front. Not really sociable with us but very chatty with each other. Pricing is a bit on the higher end for the quality for sure, out of 7 dishes between a group of 4 and 2 were for sure pre-made items only 2 dishes were ok. As for the food itself, I can say it's more on a "cleaner" side vs the extra flavor and oily texture you'd get from a fast food chain. The ramen broth was subtle, the noodle perfect, but the flavor wasn't there. The Chef special roll was way over priced for what you get, especially only having 1 piece being the best out of the "assorted" fish. The hibachi wasn't good in my opinion, good portion though. Would not order that again. The chicken teriyaki flavor was great, chicken texture was more like grilled on a pan vs over flame. Loved the veggies though. The gyoza and takoyaki were good as well as the strawberry mochi icecream. Wish they were more friendly though, making us feel like we were inconvenient for them was a major turn off.

Came here for dinner the other day with a friend & we did walk-in. We were able to get seated at the bar immediately. Though the restaurant was essentially empty at the time & there looked like many tables available, I guess they block them off for reservations only? Ended up being a full house by the time we finished our meal! There were so many unique options to choose from but we ended up getting the following: -tuna tacos -6 nigiris (2 otoro, 2 yellowtail, & 2 black bass) -phoenix roll -southside roll -lychee martini -"I trust the nanny" drink Take out order (after our meal): -nor'easter roll -spicy tiger roll -chutoro tuna w/ chives roll -4 otoro nigiris The fish tasted super fresh! Rolls were all very flavorful too! All of the rolls we ordered all had hints of spice & microgreens, which normally I wouldn't care for in my rolls but they managed to make it work well! My favorites from the dinner were the otoro nigiri & the phoenix roll! I love otoro & I love a torched salmon moment hehe, so though I enjoyed everything we ordered, those two were my personal favorites. I wish I had known about SushiCo sooner but I'm happy I was able to visit! Will definitely be back again for more sushi... much better than many of the "high-end" sushi restaurants in Boston (i.e. O ya, Oishii, Zuma, etc) in my opinion! It's $50 for the regular AYCE or $80 for the Premium AYCE. We opted for the former, and it was plenty great. We have done lots of AYCE sushi and I will say this is the BEST of them - I think it's because it's the same grade sushi as they would normally do Ala carte on other nights. The $50 menu had plenty of sashimi and regular nigiri (sushi with rice) options and some Thai too. We had mostly the sashimi Salmon, Tuna, Yellowtail, Octopus, a few rolls, some edamame, gyoza, shumai. My favorites were the salmon, as the cuts were large, thick and amazing silky, and the gyoza, as it was perfectly crispy. The Pad Thai was bit way too sweet for my taste - a skip for me next time. The decor is very nice - reminded me of a dive Tokyo bar. Service was quick and very attentive. We will be back!

With what…read moreseems to be a recent price increase, now $50++ allows access to a good variety of sushi/sashimi, on top of apps, ramen, poke bowls, and cooked rice/noodle dishes. Whereas $80++ offers diners a set of amount of uni, plus unlimited amount of everything else, wagyu included. Sounds like a good deal, especially when one can eat a lot. Even as we are no longer Team Eat Till You Burst, we went for the premium, mainly for the nicer cuts such as toro and wagyu, and because uni!! Jumping in shortly after 5pm, we were promptly seated, marked a bunch of stuff on paper, and soon after submission, we got food brought to our table. It was a decent meal overall, so why 3 stars? Let's recap. Menu variety is fantastic, though of course we didn't get "one of everything", coz that's simply impossible. While the premium did cover a lot of grounds, it would have been nice if they also included anago (sea eel) which is currently only available on the a la cart menu, and maybe even offer couple lesser-known items such as monk fish liver app, sea grapes, off-the-beaten-path fish cuts, what have you. Would be happy even if we only get an allotment of those like we do with the uni. Now, service - great overall. Servers circulated around and were alert of customers' needs. Approached at appropriate times to take our order sheets, refill water, provide new order sheets, and ask if we wanted more food. So kudos on that. Their denotation of serving "regular portion" of cooked food had us hesitant in ordering, since we didn't want to be wasteful (or use our limited stomach space for dishes we can easily get elsewhere). But from other tables' orders as well as the one noodle dish that we ended up getting, it seems that the portion size was what I would like to see at AYCE places -- about 50-60% of regular Asian dish size, where 3-4 people can each have a couple bites "just to try". However, to think if that is what they call "regular portion", then it is definitely "Brookline pricing" on a la carte, which I would not recommend one to do such things on these items. Food is fantastic in general; we got a variety of stuff, and everything was really of top quality and taste. The meal would have been a "highly recommended" if they didn't serve the uni that we got. Out of the 12 pcs of uni sushi, all of them were... while not "foul" to a point where one cannot safely consume, they were definitely more sub-par than "ok but not great". Colors aside (which I understand there can be a range depending on origins and such), the uni was a "splat" of yellow stuff on rice, without distinct shape of the flesh. On top of the fishy smell (I'm talking about slightly ammonia-ish), the presentation and taste-texture upon them hitting our tongues... really left the ENTIRE room to be desired. In retrospect, we should have sent them back even if they weren't going to replace them. But instead, we stupidly forced ourselves to shove them all down in cowardly silence, then ordered another round of wagyu just to make us feel a little better about it. Yes, we weren't smart as customers. But if the restaurant is going to charge $100++ per person (after tax and tip), someone from the kitchen should have known better than pushing this thing out for customers to deal with. In their defense, yes, the uni itself was still "edible" in a sense that it didn't make us sick, but I'd maintain that better judgment should have been made. Once the shell was cracked open and you see this pale-gray yellow mush, it should have been decided that it is better repurposed, than be served straight to your customers as your star/featured product. As seen in other diners' experiences, it could just have been a one-off mishap, so I'm not knocking them entirely. But I do hope the restaurant would improve on their QC accordingly. It was such a disappointing low point in an otherwise wonderful meal.
