Very rude staff and heavy pressure to tip. The receptionist was so rude to me when I was trying to book a massage from Groupon. It's like they treated me worse because I bought a Groupon. HARASSED AT END OF SERVICE FOR ADDITIONAL TIP. So bewildered by our experience this evening. I have been coming since grand opening and came tonight with a friend for much needed massages. There have been quirks about this place in previous visits but I loved the idea of supporting a local business and looked past them. We pre-booked massages and were looking forward to a relaxing evening. Unfortunately we had a mixed experience that we tried to look past. (Example: Not getting services from the providers we specifically booked for, owner walking in during the massage to have a conversation with employees that were giving us massages, more employee switches for the foot massage portion). We tried to enjoy it the best we could. Happily paid the service fee and tipped our respective therapists. For full transparency I tipped 20$ and my friend who really didn't enjoy her massage tipped 15$. We were about to leave. The owner confronted my friend and told her to tip more. My friend sent more money because she was so uncomfortable. I've never seen anyone be harassed for more tip, let alone physically cornered. I stepped in and spoke to Nana (the owner) about her conduct being wildly unprofessional. I have worked in the beauty service industry and was appalled by this unethical business practice. Listen, I've gotten a ton of massages, & if I give them 4 stars, that is BIG! I tend to compare them to the best massage of my life, & unfortunately, that place is no where close to Sacramento. But this place is very very close. I only been here once, and I saw Kevin. He was great! Patient with me, attentive, he would ask questions about the pressure and if I was okay. He was able to provide a lot of pressure and it wasn't one of those "rub me down" type of massages I hear a lot of people have. This is an updated review of Iconiq Day Spa. My initial visit wasn't pleasant. But, somehow, a manager was able to get in touch via my husband (who initially scheduled my first visit). The manager (I'm sorry, I forgot the name) was very kind and apologetic. They offered to give me another massage with a different therapist. Initially, I did not want to. But, I was still so sore from my first visit that I said yes. This time I got a name. I saw Emily. She was great. Very attentive to my needs and made sure I was very comfortable. This place is fantastic! I chose to try out this massage place a few weeks back off some great reviews I saw. Right off the bat I was impressed with their online booking services, I was able to book a 2 our foot/swedish massage for $99 same day!! My first experience was with Nancy and she was incredibly sweet and strong! It was Swedish so not too much deep tissue but I felt so refreshed and renewed after! My second visit was with my husband and we booked a couples acupressure massage and wow oh wow! Nana did my acupressure and it was phenomenal. I have so many knots and have had range issues with my shoulder and the next day I had so much range back... it was incredible! I will caution this; if you're not familiar with acupressure or that type of deep tissue be aware that some bruising can come to follow. I had quite a bit but I'm okay with the pain for the gain in longer term relief. Hope this review helps someone that is needing a massage therapist with a variety of services, quality customer service and exceptional massages..this place will not disappoint! I had my massage with Jerry and oh my god, his hands .... So good! It was like a warm blanket on your body. I feel asleep and didn't even realized that I was out. The only con that I would said is that the wall is paper thin and I can hear the host trying to talk to the massage therapist while he is massaging me. That, I didn't like as I am trying to relax and enjoy my massage without the sidebar conversation. I had been in there a previous time as well and it seems consistent. If they can NOT come in the room, that will be great and any other conversation that they need to have with the massage therapist can wait until the session is over. I came in here with gnarly back pain that I've been dealing with for years and I didn't know what was wrong...until I had my session with Eileen.
