    Oysters

Had a reservation here and only waited a couple minutes for the table. Nice location right on the beach and open feel. Service once it got going was great but there was definitely some confusion on who's section was who's. Ordered a variety of items, calamari wasn't anything. Special, but oysters were fresh and delicious. I had the special of the day which was a pork tenderloin which was decently priced and a good amount of food. Others has pasta, and lobster rolls. Both of which were a little underwhelming. You do pay for the location here, but the food could be a little better. Still some great items on the menu but for a party of 6 dropping $300 for just okay food I don't think I'll come back here for a full meal.

Been here many times through the years. Always good. Had lunch with elderly Aunt here on Sunday afternoon. Dined outside, very nice. No parking on wharf or nearby so hubby parked at boardwalk parking, $35. We had fish & chips, basic burger ( no condiments), fish tacos, that's it, just 2 tacos, oysters, 1 beer. With tip it was $150 for 3 people. A bit steep for lunch. We had to ask for everything, ketchup, mayo, more water, salt & pepper, hot sauce, malt vinegar. We were feeling embarrassed asking for so many things that should have been brought or offered to begin with. Overall a good experience since the location and weather are perfect. Just be ready to open your wallet very wide.

Easy online order and ready to pick up in 20 minutes! A perfect lunch on the beach and portions are HUGE!! We enjoyed a very delish clam chowder full of tender clams in thick broth. The grilled fish tacos were a HUGE portion of fish with cilantro crema. They did fall apart but were so good. The breakfast burrito made with egg whites was packed full of eggs, cheese, potatoes, black beans, corn, and spinach! The BLATT was huge- served on whole grain poppy seed bread it was full of ripe tomatoes, greens, fresh turkey, avocado and bacon served with crisp fries. The chicken tenders were ok. Great spot

We ordered the clam chowder, seafood platter, and Caesar salad. Everything was okay--nothing particularly memorable. We did wish the seafood platter had more calamari, and it would have been even better if it came with fries. On the positive side, we were seated right away, and the restaurant is quite spacious, offering outdoor seating, a bar area, and indoor dining. Our waitress checked in with us and made sure everything was going well, which we appreciated.

A great spot for local brews with an amazing view! I stopped by to quench my thirst after exploring the boardwalk and pier area, and I'm so glad I did. It's just a very short walk from the Boardwalk, but the beer prices are way better (beers on the Boardwalk can be really expensive). I felt like I found a total gem! The view is excellent, the service was very friendly and helpful. It's the perfect place to relax and grab a drink away from the main crowds!

Pros: - Great atmosphere with a scenic beach view. Tons of space and can accommodate big parties - Have a kids meal and daily drink specials which is convenient - Service was decent. Host and wait staff was very attentive and quick with food + drinks Cons: - Pricey. Especially $5 for soda (no refills) and most of the seafood options are $25-30 - Food was very basic and some weird choices. The seabass was the special when they already have another seabass on the menu. I ordered the island sea bass (as pictured), which came w/ a weird "island rice" that was super sweet. - Only paid or meter parking. They do not validate so be prepared to spend $25 for the lot or get lucky with a meter nearby Overall - I wouldn't say this is the worst place, but definitely would hesitate i recommending to others. I would only return if it is convenient and out of other options for a sit down in the area + want to maximize my parking.

We can here later on Saturday night 9pm. The bartenders seemed very busy cleaning up. I ordered clam chowder in a bread now. The chowder was good. Could have used a little more flavor but I just added a little tobacco. The bread bowl was delicious! The poke bowl got 2 stars from my husband saying the noodles were hard and the ahi wasn't fresh. Our friend said the fish and chip were good but the Maitai wasn't drinkable. He left half of it sitting there. The restaurant is beautiful and clean. Maybe coming later in the night was a bad idea due to everyone re setting and doing closing duties. I get it! We will try again earlier next time.

Came here for some quick dinner and was not disappointed! Our waiter said the Clam Chowder was award winning and I can see why!! The sourdough bread was so fresh and flavorful. The clam chowder was the perfect thickness and didn't need any extra salt or pepper. Usually I go for a little Tabasco in mine to add some heat but honestly I didn't even wanna ask for any because I was so content! This came out in maybe 5-6 minutes I'm not even kidding! I ordered an orange cream dream mock tail (which was super yummy) and my soup came out BEFORE it! I would definitely reccomend this place for their clam chowder, the rest of the food was kinda pricey for a cheap meal but what can you expect! Great spot at the start of the boardwalk, and the inside is a sweet middle between fancy and comfortable

Restaurant is fine but do not waste your money at the coffee shop. This was supposed to be an iced latte...clearly forgot one of the main ingredients.

I stayed in Santa Cruz for a week, right across from the main beach and I think this is one of the best places available to eat. It was usually crowded, but never had to wait for a table. I also can only speak to two menu items bc they were so good, I had to go back and have a repeat meal. The clam chowder here is good, better than stagnaro bros on the pier. The Buddha Salad is SOOOO freaking good!! So fresh filled with different flavors and textures, and a really big portion too. My mom and I asked to split it, and they plated it sooo nicely (the first time) and made individual salads , whereas the second time it was plated differently. Just annoying with the inconsistency. I like the outside seating better than the inside. The outside is right on the beach and has a nice beach feel, exactly why people go to Santa Cruz. I also got a double vodka cranberry which was standard and good.

Stopped in for drinks on the patio and was told we had to order an appetizer. We went with the $9 chips & salsa - they were fine, but we weren't really hungry. Ended up passing them along to a nearby unhoused individual on our way out. Service was friendly and attentive

    Ideal Cheesy Noodles (kids menu)

We stopped here after the boardwalk since it was close by and didn't want to drive anywhere. The hostess was super friendly and sat us right away outside. The menu prices shocked us, definitely up there like a fine dining spot so our expectations were high. Unfortunately, service was slow at first and when our server arrived, while energetic, he wasn't very sanitary. I saw him grab straws by the tip with bare hands after cleaning tables and handling payment books, which really grossed me out. For a place that charges this much, they should be using individually wrapped straws at the very least. Food portions were generous, but the flavors fell flat. The ceviche was okay but not super fresh, the Caesar was basic, calamari was good, and the kids "ideal cheesy noodles" was literally penne with melted cheese and Goldfish crackers tossed on top with no flavor at all. For two salads, two apps, a kids' meal, and a couple sodas, the bill came to $128, which felt ridiculous for what we got. Honestly, you're better off saving your money and finding another spot.

Kind of weak they promote happy hour on the menu Monday-Friday from 3:30-5:30 but then they don't honor it because the manager said so.

    Is it dog friendly?

Yes thought it may be depending on if there's space. They seem to save the tables near the outside of the seating area/fence for people with dogs.

3% fee for credit cards…read more I highly recommend the distillery tour. Book it in advance. It's super informative and fun. Afterward, there is a tasting of each spirit; however, the pours are very small; about 1/4 ounce of each spirit. It's such a small taste that it's not much more than "smelling" the gin. Which is fine. They make a total of 21 spirits, including 7 whiskeys. Highlights: For their gin, they use Lambic potstills; they have no column stills with baskets. Since they only use potstills, they macerate all the botanicals; it's a "wet" gin. Gin 01 is the flagship, and loaded with lavender. They sell 10000 cases per year. It's available at Whole Foods state-wide, and at the Santa Cruz Costco. Costo sells Gin 01 for $28, a significant discount from the $34 price at the distillery. Gin 01 works best with floral and citrusy cocktails like a corpse reviver #2. Gin 02 is a lightly barrel aged gin. It's aged for 2 months, and each barrel gets used twice. The gin is infused with bay leaf, sage, and fennel: it's more savory. They use bay leaf foraged at Delaveaga park, and they get sage and fennel from a farm nearby. I detected a cedar flavor. It's better with heavier cocktails, like a Paper Plane. They do seasonal gins: One for each season. For gin and tonics served at the distillery, they make their own tonic: it has a lavender note. It also uses chinchona, bitter orange, grapefruit, and elderflower. They have blue agave spirits. They get agave from farms in Yolo county. The farms do the pit roasting for them. The blanco tequila uses champagne yeast. The reposado spirit is aged for 11 months. Their mezcal is more peppery, less smokey. For whiskey: - They have a Port barrel finished whiskey that is really tasty. - I thought the rye was very sweet. - For their peated whiskey, they use malted barley imported from Scotland. Their single malt uses a crystal malt. Overall, it was a very fun visit.
