I encountered misleading advertising, pressure tactics, and a complete lack of professionalism from the salesman (Grant), the manager, and the finance department manager. The vehicle was advertised on Cars.com at a low price, but once I arrived, I was told that price only applied if you had a trade-in and financed through them. They claimed Cars.com is a third-party provider and that they "couldn't include the fine print." That alone felt deceptive. On top of that, they added $1,700 in mandatory upgrades that were not disclosed in the advertised price. These upgrades were not optional--you had to pay them, which significantly changed the real cost of the car. During my first visit, they pressured me to sign a deal based solely on a monthly payment. I was very clear that I wanted to negotiate based on the advertised price, not a payment. After a lot of back-and-forth, we finally reached numbers I was comfortable with. When I returned for the second visit, they demanded a deposit before providing full, detailed paperwork. I have never purchased a car where I was asked for a deposit before reviewing the complete deal--this was a huge red flag. They also required signing an "as-is" agreement. I asked reasonable questions: * What happens if I drive off the lot and the car turns out to be a lemon? * Is there an inspection report? * Is there any base warranty? The manager assured me yes and promised to email the inspection report and warranty details the next day. It has now been five days, and I've received nothing. I also texted the salesperson and got no response. I recently moved here from California, and I can confidently say this type of business practice would never fly there. I'm shocked this dealership is still operating the way it does. Buyers should be extremely cautious. Do yourself a favor and do not go to Auto House Tempe.

This is especially upsetting because we had been burned before and we specifically asked about car accidents and were told no! And shown a car fax on the office's computer screen... only to find out multiple accidents. We paid for the truck with cash and today we are selling it and for about 8k less than what we bought it for, because it's truly a piece of junk. When checking credit report and payment history, I noticed my balance only went down by $107 on a $342 payment. Called the lender to figure out wtf. The remaining $235 went to interest!?!?!? Because the down payment did not go to the lender. The dealership kept it and for a warranty package that doesn't even include what they promised It did. The list price for the vehicle I purchased was $16,111. I put down $4500. As of getting off the phone with the lender now she said the total price will be $28,775 to them. Add the down payment and that is $33,275. I am paying over 100% again the list price. TOTAL scam. We made very clear to Mr. Philippe that we are a low-income family. I couldn't possibly feel more screwed over. They know you can't spend hours at the dealership or calling a lawyer to read everything. I was working with another dealership, as I had been pre-approved, but let me tell you what made the difference.. the service at Goldie's ! Through text and email, John, my sales-friend, (I call him) was so relatable and communicative. Walking in I have to admit is pretty cool, in the show room they had a old school IMMACULATE Corvette, a skew ball machine, and arcade games it felt unlike any other dealership I had walked in. The owners son greeted me and asked if I needed anything and to let him know if I did! He was the sweetest teenager. When they say Goldie's is a family business they really mean it ! I was working with John and let me tell you he was so transparent and honest it was like a breath of fresh air. I had considered other vehicles they had but he talked me through the maintenance cost, resale value and common mechanical issues each of the cars I had considered. Once I settled on a vehicle he was able to check for me the maintenance records as well as reviewed the carfax report with me. When I took the car for a test drive he told me to take my time get to know the car and make sure it was right for me. I never felt pressured to purchase. I was having a horrible time in dealing with the insurance payout of my previous vehicle and John was very empathetic in understanding my situation. He had set expectations before I came that with the insurance payout being delayed I may not be able to take the vehicle the vehicle home. I was thrilled with the no pressure atmosphere, and just came to take a look at the vehicle in person, with zero expectation to buy. John and his manager worked magic. I did in fact decide to purchase my vehicle and was able to take it home, there is a small cosmetic issue that I requested to have repaired and he called immediately and got the approval to get it taken care of. I'll be returning later this week to have that completed. I'll keep you guys posted after the service appointment. I had a great experience and I feel I got a good deal on my vehicle and, I felt like my business was valued, my concerns were heard and they've made a lifelong customer out of me !
