First impressions were not good. Jesus, the manager, sent out my medical information without my permission and claimed that I had to take that up with someone else. His response was inappropriate. I asked for the dentist and was denied to talk to anyone else but him. Update: The office is trying to charge me for a transaction that was cleared. Apparently, they forgot to charge plenty of people with procedures. The thing is that asked them multiple times if I had anything owed each time. Not once did this come up. The dentist itself it's pretty sweet and will Make sure to take care of your pain , I came with an emergency being pregnant and with a bad infection , he said I need a root canal which was done the pain immediately went away a few hours later , I came back a few days later for a crown and was told I was good to go , a few months later I started feeling pain again , I called the office they took me back , soon as he checked me he found out they never put the permanent crown on me , so I had to wait until I got pain for them to find out they never finish the work ? After paying over a 1,000 I expected better , it's very irresponsible specially knowing am pregnant and things could of gone bad . Also they are very pushy to offer treatments that you probably don't need and that the insurance do not cover . This is an update from a previous review, and this time not positive. I was trying to find an email address to message the business directly, but was unable to do so. I need a detailed record of treatments I received, charges and how much money was transferred from another office. I keep getting messages about monies owed, and this has been going on for month. Every time I call, I get reassured that this is just a routine procedure and everything would be taken care of. I now have received a bill and there is nothing indicating what the bill is for, nothing itemized, no record of monies already received and transferred from another location which botched my treatments and charged me for services I never received, and they were not able to provide. It is highly unusual to send people messages via text as to how much money they supposedly owe, without a detailed account of what they owe the money for. Now I received a bill via mail without any detailed itemization, nor explanation. I already had paid the other location for all the treatments and the money I paid them was supposed to be transferred to this office. TERRIBLE BUSINESS PRACTICES with total lack of transparency. STAY AWAY! They added a whole bunch of extra services/xrays without telling me that these are not covered by insurance during my visit. Now that the insurance has declined their charges, they are sending my bill to collections. Throughout the whole period they did not even inform me that insurance declined their dispute. Very underhanded and just want to extract money from clients by dubious means. And when I called them, they have NO willingness to help . Only thing they said they will do is hold off on sending to collections for 2 weeks - which does not really help. I went for a teeth cleaning on my Medicare/Medicaid dental card and asked for the cleaning that I was allowed within my plan. Upon leaving I went to settle my account and was told that I owed nothing. A month later they sent a bill, so I contacted my insurance and they said there was an overage due to them not adhering to my plan. I told them I am 78 y.o. and unable to work to pay a dental bill that they could have avoided by sticking to the plan. Now they are sending invoice after invoice for costs they should not have made. Todays visit feedback The most condescending and disregarding of a parent practice I've ever experienced from a health care facility The hygienist was cold rude and extremely disrespectful. She walks into the waiting room and begins to ask me if wisdom teeth were pulled elsewhere regarding my child. Doesn't explain why she asked or elaborate after I asked are we suppose to have gotten her teeth pulled ? She cuts my questioning off and says you'll need to ask the dentist those questions. Next she started my child's X-ray and begins to ask my minor child questions about her seeing an orthopedic doctor there when if she reviews her chart she could've seen we have not. Next I feel a parent should be present with a minor child for any questioning. All other health care professionals do. Next she tried to take 3D images of my child and explain the images to her after the X-ray without including me the parent ! And asked my child to plug in her email ! Again my minor child shouldn't be asked to input anything unless I'm present so my child told her don't you mean you want my mothers but the hygienist kept pushing her to add hers then I was told I can enter the room after 30m of X-ray taking ! I walked in she explained nothing and only said if you want you can add your email it's whatever y'all want ! Like excuse me. And she walked off. The office manager was advised of her demeanor and tone he just laughed it off talked extremely loudly to me and was no help. Unapologetic in no way. No name badges are worn so you have no idea who's who. He too was a staff who wasn't taking the feedback at all and completely disregarded everything. I stopped the appointment I'm not going to allow us to be treated in a way they think is appropriate when it's highly unacceptable. The manager even laughed as I was asking him what charges would be done today he also didn't provide a receipt of any kind. After we walked out you could see the hygienist and the office manager laughing about our visit blatantly. They also had on a document we were there in 2021 but we only were there once in 2022 he too brushed that off. I'd definitely recommend not going to this location with these two and their disrespect. BEWARE DO NOT USE this dentist office. Unsavory Business Practices/Unethical Dentist Office. This dentist office should be reported to Texas State Board of Dental Examiners. The staff is rude and Dental Hygienist always try to sell you on treatments that you do not need and are not covered by the insurance company just to make money off the patient. It's unethical. This Dental office will try to do X-rays every 6months when it's not required. (Just because insurance covers it) They will say you have inflamed gums to try to get you to do a deep cleaning or $80 treatment when it's not really needed. (Again to get extra money). I go for a regular cleaning every 6months and never had this issue until I moved to Houston. When I refused all the unnecessary treatments they offered, the Dental Hygienist got mad. She stated she don't feel comfortable doing my regular teeth cleaning because I did not want to let them do extra procedures. (I worked in claims so I know the dentist office don't get paid by the insurance company for regular teeth cleanings; this is why they consistently try to get you to do treatments you don't need) They tried to sell me on an $80 treatment that I did not need, a deep cleaning that I did not need, and a fluoride treatment that I did not need. Just to make some extra money. Make sure to check all claims submitted to your insurance company by this dental office. Do not pay for procedures you do not need. I do not recommend this dental office. The dentist is wonderful. The office staff is H-O-R-R-I-B-L-E!!!!!! The office sends multiple texts and emails prior to the appointment requesting that you arrive 10 minutes before your appointment. The sign posted on the window near the entrance asks patients to call before you enter. When I arrived at 12:50 PM for my 1:00 PM appointment, I called the office as instructed and informed them that I arrived. The woman told me to enter. When I entered seconds after the call, the receptionist rudely told me to go back to my car and come back at my appointment time. I retreated to my car. At 1:00 PM, I received two calls back to back from the office. I did not answer as I was walking in the door. I was taken back to a room and met with a different staff member. While she was setting up, I was scrolling through my phone. She intrusively asked me if I was checking work emails. When I said no, she asked me what I was doing on my phone? That was none of her business. She left the room. A gentleman entered and discussed the fees for fillings. He was kind and straightforward. He explained that the "co-payment" for the fillings would be 10% of the entire cost due to my insurance. He offered to reduce the out of pocket expense by 50% because he "overheard the trouble" I had when I arrived. He told me I would have to schedule a future appointment for the fillings due to the amount of time it would take to complete. My only concern was that the price that was quoted 6 months ago was about $700 more than the price quoted today. But I did not ask about it. I was just concerned because I did not want a surprise bill in the future. He exited the room and the intrusive hygienist reentered. She eventually started taking scans of my teeth and started talking a lot. Although she was wearing a flimsy surgical mask and not a N95 mask, I did not feel comfortable engaging in a conversation with her. She kept asking me where I was from and where I was born. When I declined to answer unnecessary, unrelated questions, she rudely screamed like a petulant child, "WELL, I AM A TALKER. I LIKE TO TALK. I AM FROM SAN ANTONIO!!!" She finished the rest of the exam in silence, except when she said that she would explain why I would be in pain during the exam. She roughly cleaned my teeth with the sharp object and then barely flossed each tooth. At the end, she barely added fluoride to my teeth and told me to go to the front. I went to the front and the rude receptionist's attitude and demeanor had changed from before. She was quite pleasant. She reviewed my file and told me that although I did not have a co-pay, I had to pay about $23 for the fluoride. As I handed her my card, I asked her why I had to pay for fluoride. She explained that the fluoride treatment only covers people under the age of 19 years old. I am WAY older than 19. I told her that I am concerned because we had visited this office several times before and never had to pay for anything. She checked the file and confirmed my statement to be true. She said, "Well, I don't know why they didn't charge you in the past. We are charging you now." With my card in her hand, I told her to swipe the payment and declined to schedule any future appointments ever again. She asked what was wrong and whether I wanted to speak to a manager. I briefly explained and told her that I did not want to speak to a manager. She handed me my card back and told me that she is not going to charge me for the fluoride. I left. This office is very inconsistent. I was already apprehensive about receiving "surprise fees," and that is why I did not want to pursue additional services with this office. The receptionist and the dental hygienist were very unprofessional, and I will NEVER return. I hope they turn this office into a Taco Bell. Good riddance. read more

I went here for the first time in July of last year because my insurance changed and they were in network and 5 minutes from my house. I've never been told I need to have DEEP cleanings before. The dentist I used to go always said my teeth look good. They said I will need biannual deep cleanings. I left there needing a crown plus a lot more in cavity work done. It was very expensive but I have never been one to question the professionals. Now the crowns were for aesthetic purposes. Someone had bonded my teeth a while back and the bonding had turned brown on the front of the tooth in the front of my mouth. I never had any pain in that tooth before. I have had NOTHING but constant pain with these crowns since I got them. Initially they had not closed on the gaps on my temporary crown which caused a lot of pain, that they partially fixed when I went back in. I have had severe sensitivity since the actual crowns were installed and they knew this and said they would prescribe me more prescription ibuprofen, never did. I then called them back to remind them.. still never called it in. And now, less than a year later, I am in excruciating pain around one of the crowns. I will be going to another dentist to fix whatever went wrong here tomorrow. But, to reiterate the crowns were done for aesthetic reasons. I NEVER HAD PROBLEMS OR PAIN BEFORE I WENT TO THIS PLACE. Update: new dentist said my pain is due to the crowns and I am getting new ones. My insurance will not cover this as it only covers replacement every 5 years so I am having to pay out of pocket (which actually ended up being half of the cost that I paid at ideal dental) I also may need a root canal now. Ideal dental said I need to have Deep cleanings a few times per year. This new dentist said this is not the case. Ideal dental also listed 8 cavities that I need filled. New dentist said this was not true as well. RUN FROM THIS PLACE. They just want your money and the work will be awful for the crazy amount they charge. read more

I was very impressed with the office and the staff. The office was clean and inviting. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I've been here twice and my wait time was no more than 5 minutes. Making an appointment is crucial to your wait time. I went in for a periodontal deep cleaning and Dr. Rob was gentle and patient. He made me feel comfortable and because of his "bedside manner," I was able to relax. This office is located in a strip center, at the corner of Eldridge and Briar Forest, with various restaurants and businesses such as an optometrist, Smash Burger, Bullritos, Jersey Mikes Subs and Nom Nom Noodles. There's a private parking lot with plenty of parking, so no need to worry about not having a parking place. Overall, this dental office serves its purpose very well. In the past two years they got a new doctor on board and he is the best. I've had to frequently visit the office at least once a month for Invisalign and every time the admin staff was very organized and courteous and the dental assistants were friendly and attentive. The new doctor is very knowledgeable and friendly and I can trust him to do the job well. He also has a specialties in Invisalign which made me confident in the process. I love Dr. O. However, the office staff ruined my experience here and I won't be going back. I've gone here for a year and had thousands of dollars of work done. I went in May 30th for pain in the left side of my jaw. I had a tooth that needed a root canal on my plan that was causing the problem. I left and planned on making an appointment for the procedure. On June 3rd the tooth broke more. I called to schedule a root canal that will likely turn into an extraction. It was set up for the 7th at 1pm. This was the first mistake. A broken tooth causing pain seems like it should be a priority. On Friday I called to confirm my appointment at 9, it was confirmed. At 12, an hour before my appointment I received a message that they would have to reschedule because earlier in the week a neighboring building had a leak and they couldn't conduct appointments. I rescheduled for Monday at 1. Friday at 5pm they left a voicemail saying they'd need to reschedule again. It's been a week and I still haven't had them make an appointment for me. The front office staff has also been asked MORE THAN FIVE TIMES for the past MONTH to bill my insurance company so my dental provider will pay for a procedure done. They still haven't. The situation with them is past ridiculous. As soon as the other building space had issues they should have called, instead of informing me the day off after they were supposed to be opened for THREE HOURS, that they couldn't make my appointment. They have sister offices all over Houston they could have made an appointment at for me. My advice go to one of them instead. read more

My first visit to Ideal Dental was back in March 2016 as a new patient for a cleaning and exam. I went to the office this past Saturday on July 30,2016 after a receptionist called me and informed ideal dental was running a special for 50% off, for all out of pocket expenses for procedures. Upon my arrival, the staff greeted me and was very nice, I did not wait for long. The hygienist came in and told me I would need new X-rays because more cavities were discovered, I had to say" wait a minute, I was just here a few months ago, is that necessary?"The hygienist went and checked records and confirmed I did not need new X-rays (not sure why my file was not reviewed prior to my visit). I was told There was a new dentist and this person was way more thorough and the previous dentist was no longer there (high turnover). Upon meeting the new dentist, Dr. Hunter, whom was less than pleasant ,went over my X-rays with me and told me I had about six cavities and needed two crowns (first visit I was told I needed just one small surface filling). During my visit I was told I could get two filled and it would take one hour and the doctor offered to write me a prescription for a medicated toothpaste to slow the progression of any further damage until I could get all work completed. The doctor left the room and told me the receptionist would write a treatment plan for me... After waiting for too long, the receptionist comes back with a $2500 treatment plan and asked what could I do today, I advised just one filling and I would come back every month, I waited another 30 minutes to get word I did not have any dental insurance, mind you I had the same insurance and Job when I came back In March 2016 for a new patient exam. I mentioned I was still willing to pay for a filling but I could not do the $800 crown and the receptionist told me that would be fine and she would wait to see if she could call my insurance provider on Monday. I waited again for the receptionist to return, only to say the doctor could not see me and mentioned a prescription that was given to me by Dr. Hunter and told me to just go fill it. I was visibly upset by this time because it was obvious I was denied service because I did not want to spend $2000+ for dental work, the doctor did not even have the decency to come back and speak to me and I checked online and called my provider on Monday and they were appalled that I was told I did not have dental coverage. The receptionist felt bad and gave me a Starbucks gift card but I felt played and 90 minutes of my day was wasted due to an unorganized staff. I will never give this place any of my business and they were running some serious games , with their "special" and yes when Monday came, I never received a call from ideal dental stating my insurance had been verified and attempting to reschedule me for a future dental appointment. The entire staff was very personable, friendly, and looked happy to be at work.... Even on a Saturday. The office is very clean and modern. Destiny was my dental hygienist and wow! Fantastic job! Very patient and friendly! However, I will not be going back. I am very disappointed that they lied to me about taking my insurance. They don't. They did procedures that weren't covered by my insurance. Long story short... I had to fight with my insurance and every time I called the dentist office, they assured me everything had been paid and handled. This was not the case. They ended up sending me a bill! First appointment earlier this week got canceled because of "a delivery delay for a part for our X-ray machine" and the second time was due to the dentist having an emergency. I'll give them benefit of the doubt and assume that these reasons aren't fabrications, but it signals that there are administrative shortcomings at this office. This place is horrible when it comes to the comfort of their own patients. On multiple amounts of visits with different people assisting me, I've have them be horribly rough with my teeth. Twice I've had experiences where someone has made a questionable comments towards me. I had one lady say I had bad breath when it's not something that I could fix so easily since I have diabetes and it just happens. Plenty of times I've expressed that my teeth and gums are sensitive but again the staff seems to care more about time than the job being done. My son was diagnosed with an underbite and needed treatment "as soon as possible". Dr Mostafa recommended a face mask and presented us with a bill of $4856. We felt rushed and uncomfortable with the timing and the proposed treatment, the doctor was unable to take away our concerns, and so we went for a 2nd opinion at another orthodontist ( Dr Jennings ). He took his time and arrived at the same conclusion, but at a third(!) of the price. The girl suctioning my mouth was watching so much tv she kept missing my mouth and got my cheek. The dentist barely introduced herself before telling me it was extremely urgent to see an oral surgeon. She didn't even explain fully the reason. I ended up finding another dentist and asked for all my records to be transferred and they sent my X-rays and included someone else's films too. They give you a quote assuming insurance will pay for a large portion then find out later the quote was not even close. Not to mention the way they make you fill out forms... I'm basing this review off of the 2 visits I've had and 1 separate time my daughter went on her own. Going here requires A LOT of patience. I expect to have to wait when going to the doctor or dentist, but they have left my family waiting in their chairs for so long we think they've forgotten about us. I made an appointment for my son and myself for the same day. I called to confirm our appointments a week ahead of time and received a text to confirm my son's appointment only. When I showed up, I was told they may not be able to fit me in since my appointment was not confirmed. Whoever scheduled my appointment didn't put my phone number in to text me. How is that my fault? I'd just talked to someone a week ago about it. Didn't they notice I wasn't going to get the text that holds my appointment? Now I've just been told by my company that the fluoride and sealant I paid for at those visits should be covered 100% by my insurance. Honestly!!!! THE most customer service geared dentist. From the moment I walked i was greeted ... Made a cup of coffee(lol-I'm stopping soon) and 5-7 min called up !
