This is an update to my review on September 16, 2024. I received a nice phone call from Mr. Buchanan, Executive Director of Operations on September 17. He apologized for all the inconvenience we had been put through. He explained that it was the manufacturer's claim denial which wasn't explained to me in the email I received. He said they had every intention of doing the right thing and they would in fact file be filing a claim with the manufacturer to recovery their loss. He asked if we would be willing to come in and pick out new carpet to replace what I have. I did go in on the 19th and picked a much darker color. I am very thankful and happy for that opportunity! Ideal Floors has always been a good company, their service is great! The installers do a perfect job and a good clean up. I am ecstatic that my issue was resolved. I would give them a 5 star review if it hadn't taken over 3 months getting a resolution. I will use them again if a need should arise and I have in the past and will continue to recommend Ideal Floors to friends! read more

I was in the area and stopped by to look at their showroom. I made an appointment for them to come to my house for an estimate for flooring, countertops, and cabinets, but it iced that day, so I called to reschedule. I spoke with Sean, and he was supposed to call me back on Monday to reschedule. He didn't call, so I called him. I left a message and he never returned my call, so I called again. Again, he said he'd make an appointment, and I haven't heard from them since. I'm not going to beg a company to do business with me. I was really disappointed. I had heard good things about this company, but if they can't even return a call, then I doubt I would trust them with my house. I'll find another company. read more

I had my original tile pulled out and replaced along with carpeting replaced. I was told up to a week to get done, well 3 weeks later. The quality of work is horrible. I addressed the tile lines day two as there was no pattern. The answer I get, its laid like that to represent natural wood which is cut uneven. What kind of answer is that, BS answer. Their tile guys are mediocre and obviously day laborers and not actual tile layers. Now 5 months later the grout is coming out when we use the vacuum to pick up the dog hair. I also replaced my baseboards. Well let's just say, they have no idea how to cut a 45* angle. Their fix, use putty to fill the gaps. The only good work was done by the last guy to complete the front room with carpet and baseboard. He was solid. read more

I'm actually a bit blown away by them.. I bought wood-look vinyl laminate from them at a really affordable price point. I paid a friend about $1,000 labor to install it. It looked MARVELOUS... then my kids somehow left 10-12 LARGE scuff marks on it over the course of the 1st month by simply playing... dragging each other around the house in cardboard boxes. I was very upset the floor's durability was so poor! The cost to replace the damaged boards was not the issue... it's only like $36 a box of 15 boards... The issue is the labor. When you spend $1,400 total on a brand new floor, you don't expect it to be ruined in the first month... not with 1-2, but with 12 large scuff marks. I was about to sell the house and needed this corrected by the following Monday. I was highly disappointed and felt I threw my money away. I called them, not expecting them to care, but I figured maybe I would try to be the "squeaky wheel" and see if I couldn't get it corrected. I was shocked when my first phone call led to a transfer to their repair department. I was transferred to Wendell, a customer service manager. His first response was "I'm so sorry that happened, let me assure you we will make this right". They sent a tech out, who agreed it looked as if something was "dragged across the floor" and said they probably won't be able to cover it, but he would talk to the owner. 24 hours later, Wendell called me and told me the manufacturer won't cover damage caused by purchaser, but offered me a compromise to pay their cost of labor and they would fix. It was less than $100. He would try to make it out by the Monday. I expressed how important it was that this was done by my time frame. He told me he'd call me back as he was having trouble finding an available contractor. Like many home sales, things moved fast, and I ended up moving out of the house BEFORE Monday, and the buyers moved in. Before I could even call Wendell Monday morning, he SHOWED UP AT MY HOUSE FIRST THING IN THE AM to do the job HIMSELF - because he's a man of his word. That's integrity. I was desperate for 2 boxes of discontinued Pergo Hardwood flooring as an area of flooring in my home had been damaged by a rain leak and the flooring had been discontinued by the manufacturer. After much looking in California and Indiana with no luck, I found this great company. I called them on a Saturday afternoon (California time) and spoke to Shawn. He was very helpful and friendly and took my information and confirmed that they did have this product in stock. On Monday morning, I received an email confirming our conversation. I called them and spoke with Cindy from their Duncanville, Texas store who confirmed that they had the amount I needed and emailed a cost including FedEx shipping to me. The price was very fair and their service was exceptional. Living in Los Angeles where this kind of friendly service has become rare, it was indeed a wonderful transaction. Ideal floors installed luxury vinyl flooring directly on top of a recently flooded concrete slab. They did not follow the manufacture recommendations for measuring water vapor coming up from concrete. In less than 18 months the entire flooring is buckling, totally ruined. Ideal floors thinks they 1 year warranty saves them from having to do anything. Don't do business with this company if you want flooring to last. read more

I am in the process of building a house and was looking for tile on a budget. My original budget was around $2.00 per foot on the tile. I saw some porcelain tile online and contacted Shawn. He pointed me to theFt Worth store. Where I met Gerardo. While there I saw another tile that was perfect and I purchased it and picked it up the next day. While unloading I found 12 boxes broken through all the tiles. They replaced them no questions asked. I will go back when it's time to do the shower in the spare room. I can't thank this company enough for taking a failed project and transforming it to what it is now. Precious company was hired to redo all of my flooring. Wood and tile. Tile was installed improperly and grout was pushing up and out. Wood flooring was installed improperly and had air pockets under and some parts were rising. Charity and her team took this, re did everything and amazed me. I'm beyond impressed and recommend to everyone. Charity is amazing and treats every project like if it was her own home. Review of Ideal Floors, Part II. The Duncanville store. A few things I did not mention in my original review. 1. The dust. Although they did cover the kitchen cabinets, dust still got through and of course, unprotected walls were covered in the concrete dust. Which they did not clean up. 2. Because of this dust, relatives and friends with asthma and other breathing difficulties could not come to our house. Remember, this went on for 4 1/2 months. The first time. 3. They scratched up dining room wallpaper beyond repair, with no offer to replace it. Paper that is no longer available. During this time there were 3 different project managers. Because this started due to a water leak, which was covered by homeowners insurance, a company specializing in dehumidifying, Dry Force, came first. They did their job nicely and we were happy with their work. The times I contacted Ideal Floors via email, their answer was to the effect of "that's Dry Force's fault". In my opinion, the attitude of management and office staff at Ideal Floors has been "it's not our fault". Their mantra seems to be "Pass the buck". Shame. read more

We had some major mold damage at our house and we basically had to do a full house remodel. I selected ideal floors in Duncanville because they were a one stop shop for most everything I needed to get done and I could walk in the door at any time. They did all of my floors which included tiles, wood floors, carpet and baseboards. They did my new kitchen cabinets too. They offer granite counter tops, sinks and faucets. They built a completely new master shower and bathtub with matching tiles around it for us. Everything was excellent and the work crews were great. My sales rep was Sean Alexander. He has been there over 11 years and he helped us through the process and gave us a great price. Casey Lankford the manager was also great. Everyone was friendly every time I went in there. I was extremely disappointed with iDeal Floors. They initially quoted me 4 days with a possibility of a 5th day and it ended up taking nearly 3 weeks to get completed. The communication was extremely poor to the extent that I had to get the Owner involved. Even after getting him involved, the communication was still sub-par. The only reason I am giving them 2-stars is they did end up coming back out to finish the project. I am still not completely satisfied with the work that was done, but do not have any intention of having them come back out to mess up more items. I do not recommend Big Bob's. Although we got an OK price on the flooring, the installation crew did very sloppy work, especially with the quarter round trim and miter joints. At the end of the project, Big Bob's asks its customers to fill out a "satisfaction survey." While I was completing the survey, the installer stood a few inches from my right elbow the entire time, so close that I felt uncomfortable saying what I thought. They also charged us for supplies that they didn't use and a month later our credit card still has not been credited. I wish we had used a different company. read more

When I purchased my home, the carpets were filthy! I had to replace them and was told about Big Bob s by a friend who is a maintenance man. I got estimates from other places (like Empire). I got the best quality carpet for less than half of what the other guys wanted to charge me for the lowest quality carpet. The guys who came out to install the carpet were great! Beware!!!! We contracted Ideal Floors to do a carpet job for a new room that was recently built as well as a closet. When the contractor showed up, he asked to see where he needed to lay the carpet. Immediately after he looked at the job, he instantly had an attitude and said he wasn't told that he would have to do all of the work we pointed out to him. From that point on, he was a nightmare. He was slinging things around, slamming doors and made a complete mess. Once he finished the job, my newly painted walls were all scratched up, especially by the trim at the bottom. The contractor was very very unprofessional and rude. From beginning to end a lot happened, so to make a long story short, do not use or recommend to company to anyone. read more

I would not recommend. We purchased a laminate product to do our formal dining room, but the products locking mechanism is terrible. I have put several angle to angle floor in, but this product would not lock. After shopping around there is better products at other flooring stores and the higher end have a patent on there locking mechanism and have a seal on the box proving this. Lesson learned check out the locking mechanism before falling in love with the flooring. read more

The carpet crew did a great job seeming the carpet. Only reason they get 2 stars. The tile crew installed tiles in an upstairs bath that had previously had a subfloor installed. Instead of removing the prior subfloor as requested, they installed theirs over it. This made an inch and a half difference in floor height where the carpet met the tile in the doorway. They built up a ramp of tack strips to build an incline for the carpet. When the tack strips were removed to install a professional transition, the edges of the exposed tiles were found to uneven and not even cut in a straight line. They also let the residual water from the toilet seep through the floor and ruin the ceiling below. A brand new door also had a small hole in it. The repair department was not much better. They sprayed Killz on the ceiling but did not paint to match. The hole in the door was patched and painted. The patch was sunken instead of having a second coat of filler to cover the hole and the paint did not match the rest of the door. Instead of straightening the tiles, the granite transition was set in place and extra grout was pored in to fill the space. When trying to remove the transition to fix the tiles correctly, the transition was broken getting it out. I also noticed that a couple of tiles were cut too short to reach the wall so caulk was used in an attempt to cover the mistake instead of correcting it. I will not let these people back in my house. read more
