She was gentle, very, yet firm. When she asked if I was interested in longer (fake) nails I replied in the negative and that was the end of that convo, no cajoling nothing of the sort. Its the first time in my history of gel nails I was offered to try a GEL color to see if I liked before committing to it. You heard that right! If I didn't like she would change it! Ladies you know how much it takes to remove gels. She! This! I'm taken aback and completely blown away. I didn't understand her pricing though. I was quoted $40 to do the chrome WITH full set of tips. I don't and didn't use her tips so how come I still have to pay $40 huh? WhyCome? I've waited a full week before writing my report (REPORT lol) so as to give my 100% truth. I've started experiencing peeling. Not a lot but it sure won't last three weeks plus as my regular gel polish does. At the end of this week I'm quite sure I'll be soaking this polish off so chrome is a no for me. I've been on the fence for a few days about this review but I'm so disappointed i have no choice but to go ahead with it. I've been here off and on for years (15+), it's been my go to for fast & pretty decent service. Over the years I've learned which nail techs to avoid, on my most recent visit I was really on a time crunch and gave in and used someone I've always avoided (Helen). She's always rushing to get one customer done so she can have a fast turn around. I had a gel manicure done 2 weeks prior (at the same salon) and she thought it would be best to use the electric filing machine to remove the gel polish (fine with me) but she did not file smoothly nor did she buff the nails down to be smooth. My nails were left bumpy. When I brought it to her attention, she pretended to not hear me. I asked a third time why my nails were bumpy and she pretended to not understand what I was saying. I've been coming to this nail salon for years so I know she understands, the tech that should be in charge during the owners absence was not helpful either - she didn't even attempt to come over and look. Anyway I didn't want to make a scene, I had my son with me and I didn't want to upset him but this incident has left such a bad taste I doubt I'll ever go back and if I do I surely won't be using this nail tech any more. This is my neighborhood nail salon. Their service and prices are always consistent. They recently renovated so the salon is much bigger and I would say they're pretty sanitary as well. The pedicures are quick if all you have is a lunch break. Their gel manis last at a maximum of two weeks (there are places where a gel mani could potentially last more than that), it does start showing signs of chipping at the close of two weeks. My new regular is SNS powder just because it's better for your nails and prevents breakage. They have a wide variety of colors and it's fairly decently priced ($35). I was very nervous to come here because of the reviews at first, but once I went I had a better experience than I thought. Overall, I LOVE how my nails had turned out! I had never gotten acrylics before, but as this being my first time I had a lot of fun! The only main issues was that the cost to get these was expensive and that there were some small defects in my nails at the end. Let me tell you their standards price for acrylics is $25, which is a good price in my opinion. Secondly, I had told the lady that I wanted these pink ombre nails for prom, and she said the only way for doing that style is if i get gel nail polish, which according to her was an extra $25. Like what's up with that??? Later on, another one of the workers said to the girl they were doing nails for was that getting gel is an extra $10, not 25. I came in excited to get these nails done for cheap, but "because they were ombre" gel had to be done costing me to pay double the amount. (Mind you I'm only 16 and save up my money because I don't work) Finally, when she was done my thumb and pointer finger both had bubbles in the polish. About 2 days ago, I had just came from the grocery store on Sutphin Blvd and was rushing to catch my regular nail spot on Hillside Ave. Right before I got to see Popeye's chicken on hillside ave I was shocked to see a little nail salon open at 8pm even tho the sign said they closed at 8pm...I went to the first lady at the door ..told her tips and asked how much she said $19. She was extremely quick, a little rough with my hands but did a great job....for $19 it was well worth it. I normally go to one of 2 salons near me in LI, but today I decided to go here during my lunch break (so that I won't have to waste time after work). Big Mistake. I went for a gel manicure and a regular pedicure. First, their price point is slightly higher than the place I go to - yet the place itself looks gross. When the Hispanic lady was doing my pedicure, she hurt my toe as she cut my nail too close to the skin - more than once. Then, she took a long time cutting my cuticles. While all that was happening, I was given a load of gel shades to choose from. I chose one, but before I could tell anyone, the Asian lady grabbed it from me without asking if I was done, and gave it to another customer. Then, when my pedicure lady was ready to paint the color, she had to bring back the samples (I had remembered the number of the color but there were multiples of that number for some odd reason), and I had to go through them all over again. Of course they couldn't find an exact match nail polish to the gel shades, so they had to use another color for my toes. Next, my manicure. Same as the pedicure, my hands got cut from the cuticle cutting. I had remnants of my old gel polish, and the lady told me I had to pay $5 extra to take it off. I was taken aback, but agreed to pay, while telling her that I won't be returning. When she brought in the solution for me to soak my nails in, it was a Tupperware container with black stuff floating in it. Then, as it was over an hour, I was hoping to hurry it up, but she kept conversing with the other Hispanic lady at the salon (in Spanish). She filed my nails, I asked her to do it square, she did half of them slightly rounded. When I left, I noticed a couple of my nails are slanted, they're not even straight or round, just filed at an angle. Needless to say, I will never come here again. I may look for another salon in Jamaica, or just keep going to the one in Bellmore, but never ever coming back here. Attitudes suck - you're a service business, listen to your customers. read more

When they glue the tip on, they lightly glue it RIGHT where your real nails end-- it's only been about a week and I have two broken nails, this being the reason. The lady who did my nails did a very nice and clean job (I got acrylics, coffin with gel) however I got bubbles in the paint a day after. I would only go there again if my usual spot (crazy nails) is too busy or if I absolutely need my nails done. They do have a lot of options there too so I might go there if I want chrome or anything extra like that.
