I was told if it still overheated, we could replace the screen (not likely a root cause but the next step if needed) and it was would discounted as I already paid for the other cleaning and gasket replacement. Also there were lots of boxes and broken computers just kind of laying around everywhere, but we were desperate and needed a quick fix. It's been a few days since getting the screen replaced and we've noticed that when next to a normal iPhone looking at the exact same images, the colors are a lot different and not as detailed. Also it's been flashing and went black for a few seconds. Really disappointed but not confident we could get a refund, or would even want further repairs from this establishment.

Now the place is trashed, stuff everywhere on the floor and empty cases. Phone had 76% battery capacity when I took it in. He had it done within a few hours. I noticed the power level seemed to be the same and thought the phone needed to reset so I did the calibration twice and nothing different. Restated the phone and still no change. Went to go back to the shop and the place is closed. Called and his phone is disconnected. Been this way for weeks. Today I noticed it open. Stopped in and told him the issue. He refused to give a refund. Said he wanted me to leave it with him again. I don't trust this guy to be open tomorrow and didn't feel I should leave my phone or anything with him. Still refusing to issue a refund. He only accepts Venmo. Venmo will not help you as a customer paying for a service. Once the payment is made you have no protection like you would with a credit card. I think he knows this and uses Venmo to his advantage unfortunately it's not your you a customer's advantage I would highly recommend going anywhere else other than here. Don't make the same mistake I did. By the look of this place this guy clearly doesn't care about this business and his customer service skills show the same. The only way this guy stays open is by ripping off the people that trust his service. Do not give any business to this guy.

I was originally going to go the RMA route with Costco where I got the PC bundle from originally, as it was still under warranty. But Costco insisted they reserve the right to unilaterally delete all the data on my PC during the free fix. And backing up the data myself at that point would mean voiding my warranty with Costco Daniel was really helpful with explaining the list of options I could go down -- whether it was just for him to backup my data in a way to retain my Costco warranty and then have Costco fix the motherboard for free -- or have Daniel do a semi-rebuild of my PC, replacing the motherboard with something that isn't just going to crap out in another year or two like the first one. I went with the latter, and I'm glad I did. And Daniel was way quicker with the turnaround than I expected, got me my PC back in a week, just before they closed for the weekend. I also got a free month of their tech support service with the purchase. Great shop, would recommend! (assuming my PC holds up for years to come, which I feel very confident it will)

The fix turned out to be very complex and was a lot longer than anticipated. Daniel , who helped me,stuck with the job until it was done. They charged $129.99+tax for replacing it with a non-Apple battery while (i found out later) Apple only charged $99.99 Apple also provides 1 year warranty vs the shop's 30 days. The 'new' battery while performs better than my old one, it's not quite up to my expectations as one charge is good for around 12 hours (on energy saving mode). One more thing, when checked out, they solicited tips for their work which I turned down but nonetheless left a bad taste in my mouth.
