Such is the case here - over the phone I was told to come by and show them my busted up iPad and was assured that whatever the issue was, they could fix it. Fast forward an hour later, (it literally took me 15 minutes of driving and walking back and forth on the street to find this place as it's basically a rented room at the top of a staircase of a commercial building), I was informed that my iPad is dead and that it should be used as a coaster or paperweight. Look, I understand a car mechanic cannot accurately diagnose a vehicle electronically or telephonically as accurately as they can if they can see the car in person and of course when it comes to an iPad with a cracked screen and water damage that won't power on, it would be ideal for a repair person to physically inspect it before diagnosing the issue so please don't tell me over the phone that you can fix something and then smugly state that it's beyond repair. Also, I appreciate that you want to keep your overhead low but FFS don't do business out of what is basically a bedroom with shit everywhere and a dog sitting around begging to be anywhere but there. This place is super inconvenient to get to with a super unprofessional "store" and super creepy vibes. All said, I disagreed with Sheldon's diagnosis so decided to call A to Z Wireless (which coincidentally enough is right down the street in an easy to see and enter store) and while no promises were made over the phone or in person, the owner fixed my iPad and is now working just as it did before I dropped it in a jacuzzi. So yeah...don't recommend this dude at all but highly recommend A to Z. Enjoy.

He found (luckily) no water damage, and he took the time to further investigate, test out some options, to find potential causes. Cleaned out my charger port, and offered several things to try at home before trying something else. I was told if it still overheated, we could replace the screen (not likely a root cause but the next step if needed) and it was would discounted as I already paid for the other cleaning and gasket replacement. Luckily the issue is fixed and I'm happy he didn't push for the screen replacement if he truly didn't think it was needed!

Also there were lots of boxes and broken computers just kind of laying around everywhere, but we were desperate and needed a quick fix. It's been a few days since getting the screen replaced and we've noticed that when next to a normal iPhone looking at the exact same images, the colors are a lot different and not as detailed. Also it's been flashing and went black for a few seconds. Really disappointed but not confident we could get a refund, or would even want further repairs from this establishment.

Fast forward to about a month ago where I closed my laptop lid and CRACK - something happens where basically the bezel, back over, and hinge gets damaged to the point where it looks like I ripped it apart when I open my laptop back up. Tried to fix it and somehow made it worse by messing up the screen and man, I've done my fair share of taking computers apart before but I wasn't going to mess with my laptop after this series of unfortunate events. Cue Eric! I reached out to a couple of repair guys for a quote and Eric gave me the best one AND the hope that my laptop could be saved (I had a couple others tell me it wasn't worth the fix; mind you, my computer itself worked fine still - I just had to plug in an external monitor to get anything productive done). He was timely with messages, and even let me know that some parts were missing for repair and ordered it for me. His quote was reasonable in comparison to the cost of a brand new laptop and now that I've had it back for a couple weeks; I can honestly say it feels brand new. Appreciate his quickness and his expertise, would definitely come back for any silliness I encounter with computers down the road. Thanks, Eric!

Instead they tried to tell me I need much more expensive repairs. I order the JB weld for $6 and fixed it myself. Now the owner is out $100 and get a bad review for being dishonest. Edit 2: oh so you didn't lie about talking to me you just so overwhelmed you couldn't remember all the people that you spoke to which is why you said you didn't speak to me. And you're not dishonest you are incompetent because you had to quote a much more expensive repair instead of doing quick repair. Makes sense considering you are so overwhelmed with business that you would immediately try and push a longer more expensive repair instead of a quick JB weld job. People if you do business with this man you deserve what you get.

Big shoutout to Norman over at uBreakiFix! I came in thinking my phone was done for after water damage, but Norman went above and beyond to get it back to life. He didn't just stop at fixing the screen he opened up the phone, cleared out the water, replaced both the front and back glass, and made sure everything inside was working perfectly. It turns out all I really needed was a proper screen repair, and Norman handled it like a true professional. Thanks to the partnership between AT&T and uBreakiFix, I was able to get the whole repair done with $0 out of pocket, and now my phone feels brand new. Norman is the real deal super knowledgeable, detail-oriented, and clearly passionate about his work. i am a real customer who hates yelp, but was forced to write this review because the service i received today was so out of common awesome, i couldn't remain silent. long story short, bring all your electronics & iphones to these guys. they literally undercharged me for a charge port cleaning when i went in for a full replacement, expecting to pay a few $100. in less than 5 mins, the young guy revived a "paperweight" iphone 12 pro for less than 2 meals at carls jr. one of the few times i was sad not to see a tip jar. well done sirs! read more

I took my Samsung S23 Phone in to get the cracked screen fixed. Both Mike and Isabelle helped me file the insurance form for the covered claim. I explained to them that I was traveling and needed it fixed right away. They were outstanding, getting the phone repaired to Samsung quality stardards as quickly as possible. Somehow a car (my car) drove over my phone. Since I was near a Verizon office I walked in and asked who they recommend for repairs. They said uBreakiFix. As I drove to the Carlsbad location I had some anxiety regarding this company I had never heard of. But when Mike told me my options he was so friendly and sincere that all anxiety fled. Great experience. Phone went blank couldn't see the icons on screen. Thought we needed a new display backlight and it would be fixed in a few hours. Well it was fixed no charge. The settings were all wacky but we couldn't see to check it out. Very honest. Could have charged us and we wouldn't have know nothing needed replacing. read more

The repair person (I do not know his name) didn't make me any promises. He simply said that he'll try to see if it starts and go from there. I agreed to pay some $$ for a diagnosis even though it wasn't requested when I dropped the phone. I told the repair man to charge me for a broken screen anyways if the phone was still useable. 2 hours after dropping the phone, I received a text saying that my old phone was ready, it has full access and charges well. I paid $55 for the (super fast) service. Competent, efficient and friendly staff.
