We had a great time here! It was well organized & informative on how to "fly" before we entered the wind tunnel for our flights. Definitely pay the $ to "fly high", that was awesome! Wow, wow, wow! First off, this was so much fun and exciting! Took my wife, mother-in-law and sister-in-law for my wife's birthday. When we arrived, we were greeted, helped with our reservations and that went smoothly. They were great at the front desk. Chris was our instructor and he was awesome. He took the time to explain everything, interacted with us before, during, and after the flight. He was an awesome instructor. Ryan helped when we did the fly high portion and he was great too! Went with a group of 5 for my birthday and really enjoyed myself. Our instructor (emilio, I believe) was super nice and patient. My friends and I really enjoyed taking pictures in our suits. You only get 2 flights, 1 minute each, both with your instructor. But it's still an experience that is worthwhile. They will convince you to purchase the High flight and honestly it is so worth it. I bought my high flight before hand but my friends ended up getting it the day of. I wish the flights were a bit longer, but still a great experience over all. read more

I went here as a surprise post-Valentine's Day date. As we pulled into the parking lot, I just assumed that our date was at the indoor mini golf course across the way. When we walked in I was so ready to just go "I am NOT doing this," but I nervously put on my suit, goggles, helmet, ear plugs and sat through the safety class. When they told me we would only be flying for two minutes, I instantly thought it was a damn rip off, especially including the fact that it is an additional $10 for the High Fly experience, which honestly isn't all that high. I still say pay it to get the most out of this trip (especially if you drive an hour and a half as hail and snow makes the roads have a thick 'slushie' layer.) Our instructor, Josh, was a very positive and clear person. My only flaw with the instruction is that they do not discuss breathing, how its effected and how you can relax *raises peace sign* throughout the high speed air. Throughout the first thirty seconds of Round 1, I did good. After my chin drifted a little too low, I soon felt like I was drowning in air and couldn't wait for my time to be over. Overall, this is a very fun and fresh place to try with friends or as an interesting date. read more

I came in here today with 15 people from work. It is right next to Top Golf and is easy to find. The facility is very modern and looks like it is brand new. The staff is friendly and appears to be well trained. The facility is a vertical wind tunnel with a metal net serving as the floor. You wear a helmet, eye and ear protection, and a flight suit. The instructor pulls you into the wind tunnel and helps you move around. There is a safety orientation before you go into the wind tunnel. I only did one go around today. I felt disoriented (vertigo) when I got done, so i did not feel like doing it again. This was my first time. I would definitely do it again. I would suggest two 30-second segments for first-timers instead of one one-minute segment. read more

My husband has always wanted to go sky diving, but I can't stomach the idea of my main source of income jumping out of a plane (also there's the whole love of my life thing). So we compromised and decided on indoor skydiving. I am so glad we did. We paid for 2 flights and added on the high fly experience to the 2nd flight. This is a great package because the first flight you're really getting your form right. Then the second the instructor flies with you and you go a lot higher. Our instructor was Mickey, I would definitely recommend him, especially because the other instructors seemed a little frosty, but I didn't interact with them much, also it was early in the morning, so maybe they hadn't had coffee? Anyway, absolutely fantastic. If you're considering this, go for it! A few notes: (1) if you have longer hair, I would recommend braiding it. I had mine in a pony tail and I had to remind myself my features won't support a pixie cut for the 30 minutes it took to comb out the tangle. (2) They're going to tell you to relax. I highly recommend you listen. I tensed up and I feel a little sore. My husband was spa-level relaxed and he doesn't feel anything. (3) we both opened our mouths (I was screaming, he was smiling) and our throats were a little sore the next day. So practice your closed mouth smiles. Would go again, for sure. read more

I did this for my birthday, on a Thursdaymoo morning so it wasn't packed. Matter of fact, I believe there were only four of us. We had a few things to sign, consent forms and what not, a brief demonstration on what to do and what not to do. We actually got on a table and maneuvered our bodies into flying motions and he adjusted us accordingly. I don't recall the instructors name but he seemed very knowledgeable, nice guy. We suited up, a jump suit, goggles and a helmet. We got to keep our shoes on, took a few pictures and we were on our way. We entered the tunnel, there was a bench for us to sit as we could only fly one by one. I believe I went third. There is a clock in there to keep track of your time which is about a minute, maybe two, can't recall. They record you and take still shots that you can email to yourself, there might've been a fee associated. The instructor even let me stay a lil extra time and flew me up to the top. A good time but more of a warm up for the real thing! I wouldn't do it again for so little time in the tunnel. read more

After a slight snafu with reservations, it ended up being an amazing experience. For those using Costco vouchers, be warned can only use 6 vouchers per fight time. So if you are in a big group you will be asked to split into separate flight times. It took some effort but were able to book together(group of 9). Check in does take awhile if you have a large group. But they moved it along as quickly as possible. And I can't blame them that I have a big crew! LOL Didn't feel pressured at all to buy the add ons.But we did get the upgraded helmet for one of our sons. And we all added the High Fly option. Instruction time was quick and efficient. Then on to getting dressed and the actual flying. We went to celebrate my triplet sons birthday. One of the boys has Down syndrome and we were worried how the staff would be with him. But it was all good! Thomas was really good with him and helped him have an awesome experience!! Everyone had a great time and we even took advantage of the return trip package. My family and I had a great time at iFly this past Sunday. We all went up for a total of 2 minutes with the last minute doing the high fly for additional $10 per person. Our instructor was Mikey and I noticed that he seemed more experienced in instructing than the others. The reason I say this is I noticed we floated and flew in the air more versus other instructors had their team closer to the ground. He made everyone feel comfortable even with a young child who decided he no longer wanted to fly. I would definitely come back since the experience was fun and different. I will say the cost is high and we did have a wait 30 or so minutes past the reservation time but it's worth it to do at least once. Also, definitely do the high fly. We went here as a family outing and had a blast! Thomas was a phenomenal instructor and helped everyone have a great time and understand what to expect. Though the flight time was only a minute, it felt longer in the chamber. We each got to do two flights with the second one twirling up into the wind tunnel for the high flight. It was an experience we won't soon forget and we're already planning another visit! A few tips...If you're planning to go, make sure to complete your waiver online ahead of time. It will save you some time. Also, don't bring a bunch of stuff with you and empty your pockets. They've got small lockers onsite but you're better off leaving your coats, jackets, etc in the car. The lockers are good for your wallet and keys. Phones aren't allowed in the chamber so you'll have to put those away too. Luckily you'll have access to pictures and videos of your flights for up to two weeks on their website. The flight chamber is a complete fishbowl so folks on the outside will be watching your flights. They can certainly film you while you're inside but be forewarned that everyone outside can see what's happening in the flight chamber. Folks with long hair, pull it back and tuck it into your helmet. As for shoes, sneakers tied tight are best. read more

I love this place. It has become my new expensive hobby. My husband took me here for Valentine's Day and I was upset because I'm not one for extreme sports. I was very nervous and considered backing out a couple of times. Eventually, I got the courage to go through. We did the training. Then we got our flight suits. I wore boots, but thankfully they have shoes you can wear if you forget to wear tennis shoes. Also, my ponytail fell out so something else to consider. I upgraded to the closed helmet and I'm glad I did, my husband said the wind was a lot on his face. Anyway, I loved the feeling. It was so much fun. They have a deal to come back. So we bought it and brought our kids, they both loved it too. We bought return tickets again. read more

I was super excited when I stumbled across this place online so I notice the weight requirements and I gave them a call. I was told on the phone by two people that work there that I would be able to participate as long as I'm at the weight requirements of no more than 300 lb. I drove an hour 49 minutes from my home to iFly Loudoun County location met the weight requirements after being weighed get upstairs and was thrown a black jumpsuit by a younger guy who look me up and down with disgust everybody was walking around Whispering behind me as I'm trying to put on this jumpsuit that did not fit I turned around and asked the boy if he had a larger one and he said that's the largest we have and started laughing and snickering to one of his other co-workers at that time I ask for the manager. The manager clearly needed more help with her customer service because she was not of any help either she kept a fake smile on her face while talking to me. I was granted a refund but all in all I left out of there in tears.If your going to allow people of different body types to participate then you should have more jumpsuits. read more

I actually want to give them zero stars. We didn't actually have a session because in reading their waiver you have to agree to let them post your pictures and videos with your name attached to their website for 2 weeks where anyone can access and purchase them. That was a no go as we had minors with us. So surprised that they don't give you a private, personalized passcode so that only you can access them. Not so hard to do in this day and age. More people need to start questioning this policy! read more

Our company held a Department event here for our Dev and IT staff. About 80 people, 60 of which were "flyers" a couple of weeks ago. This place was AWESOME! Scott helped us with scheduling the event, setting the lunch menu (food was great), getting bus service to take us from DC to the event and back. He was a pleasure to work with as was the entire staff once we were onsite. When we realized we'd made a mistake on part of the food order he even offered to go offsite to get additional items for us! Everyone was extremely helpful and you could tell their goal was to make sure we all had a great time while ensuring our safety. I'm still getting compliments about this outing and being asked to make sure we do this again next year. Thanks to Scott and everyone else at iFly for providing an exciting, entertaining event for our staff. I'm so sorry that I can't remember everyone's names but I DO remember Pete's. :-) He had this grandma spinning fast on that high flight! This was one of our favorite things to do in Loudoun, until yesterday's experience. We've flown on four separate occasions, always with a group. We've also always paid for the high flight and red helmet upgrades. We were gifted $150 in gift cards, plus a $50 voucher, from relatives for Xmas, so we tried one session of flight school for $69. The first time we attended flight school was fun: we were paired with instructor Pete, and he really allowed us to try different positions and experience flying without being kept on such a short leash. We signed up for another flight school session yesterday, and our experience was completely different--from getting the time scheduled, to the painful end. I called to schedule the session and talked to Lydia (?), who told me I couldn't use a gift card towards flight school. I told her I used the same thing the week prior. I was transferred to manager Jenny. Jenny reinforced what Lydia said, and explained I couldn't use a Costco voucher. Who said anything about Costco? The gift cards were directly from ifly's website! Jenny was extremely confused and told me she'd get back to me. I didn't receive a callback, so I contacted ifly Loudoun again the next day and talked to Monica. Monica was able to take our reservation using our gift cards and we were set to go. Arriving at Loudoun ifly checkin was easy and we went upstairs. At the upstairs desk we see Pete, who outfits us in a red helmet. The fit is WAY TOO BIG but he assures we'll be fine. Pete let's us know that we only have two minutes, and that we should talk to Trevor, the GM on hand, to make sure we're getting the same time as everyone else. WHAT IN THE WORLD? Trevor tells me that since he can't divide any package, he'll honor one $50 gift card, and that I'll have to pay for 3 additional minutes, at $15/min = $45. Trevor wanted me to pay $45 on top of the $50 for a $69 flight school experience. I told him no, and to look in the system to see what we did last week! I then paid $20 on top of the $50 gift card, to stop hearing about it and get the session started. Trevor explained how they have gift cards and vouchers available from many different outlets, so it can be super confusing for them from a customer service perspective on how to book minutes. DUDE, YOU'RE THE GM! If you're confused, they're ALL confused!! Hot mess!!! The flight school experience was terrible too, as the helmet fit wrecked our time in the tunnel. Pete had to keep adjusting it during flight, and we never really got off the net--and lost our earplugs during the session! It was a terrible flight experience--all three times we went up. I don't know if Pete was off his game or what, but it was a 180-degree difference than our first flight school experience, for the worse. I was then approached by Trevor at the end of the session, and he handed me a pamphlet--with Jenny's card stapled to it! Irony! He told me to contact Jenny to book flight school in the future since "she deals with the booking and really knows her stuff!" As I have my coat on and leaving, Pete comes up and asks if we'll be back next week? Um. No. read more
