Today is my son's first day of the Keystone South Camp. Maybe it is too early to write a review, but there is reason why I wrote a review now. First of all, my son really enjoyed his first day of the camp. Today he tried Archery which he had wanted to learn since last year and finally today he tried &enjoyed even it was too heavy than he expected. He said that he couldn't decide which activities he would do tomorrow, too many interesting activities to choose. However, this is not my main reason to write a review. This morning I had a transportation problem. I checked the webpage about the bus pick up location and time. But it was not updated new location &time. so I missed the bus and called the camp. Meg answered the phone. And she didn't hesitate. She apologized about the mistake and drove right away personally to pick up my boy. I was so impressed. Also I got an apology email from Mike, the camp founder, and he updated his website already. Their action to solve the problem is excellent. read more

Keystone South has to be the Disneyland of summer camps. Our 6 year old daughter has spent two summers there. After being a Junior camper in 2018 she could not wait to go back this summer. The fun starts at the bus pick up and at the end of the day your kiddo gets home happy and tired. The staff here really goes above and beyond and puts so much effort into what they do. There are weekly special events and fun themes that make the kids excited to come back every day. Crazy hair day and tie dyeing were favorites in our house this summer! Next summer our family will plan our vacation around the Keystone schedule because our daughter doesn't want to miss a day! read more

My daughter is 9, almost 10. She generally refuses to go to camp, and i force her into a couple of weeks to preserve our relationship and mutual sanity. However, when we received the flyer in the mail for Keystone, she loved it. There are so many nice options and she loves being able to choose what she does during the four different "sessions" of the day. She swims every day as well. The security is excellent, you have to show ID to pick up your child, Love that! In addition all the counselors are in the pool except one that is playing games with the kids who are not swimming that day. They test the kids daily to make sure they are in good shape to swim. All in all: A+ for niceness, fun, safety, and variation. I signed her up for two weeks this year but may increase to four weeks next year. The director, Mike is awesome and clearly puts his heart into this camp. Bravo. read more

Love this camp! I sent my 4 year old daughter to this program all summer, 5 days a week, and she had a blast. The director, Mike, is awesome and his staff is incredibly kind and patient. They did so many fun things throughout the day. Music, dancing, fun art projects, bouncy houses, swimming and sports. My daughter was happy walking in every single day and the staff made sure of it. My four year son Derrin went to this camp last year for all three sessions and he had so much fun. The camp leaders were incredibly nice and attentive. Captain was always providing me with an update of how the day went. The Founder, Mike was incredibly sincere and cared about the kids. Every day we were greeted with a smile by everyone including Mike. We are definitely going back again this year. I'd recommend this camp! read more

Well, we completed another great week at Keystone South this summer. My daughter loved choosing her activities each day and having so many options throughout the week. I usually am not one to leave reviews positive or negative, but there is something about Keystone South that makes this experience the exception. This summer I had to enroll my 4 year old twin girls in a summer camp and I did not know where to start. Lucky for me I came across a Keystone South flyer and saw that they had a Jr. Camp program that I was curious to learn more about. I attended their open house this past April and I absolutely loved everything about it. The staff was very welcoming and while I spoke with the Director, Mike Bentz, they immediately brought my girls over to an activity that they loved. I was amazed by the knowledge and passion that Mr. Bentz showed for the summer camp business. He was able to address all of my questions and concerns which had me leaving there feeling extremely comfortable with making the decision to leave my kids in his hands. I immediately went home and enrolled online, which was another smooth process. My kids started camp last week and as any 4 year old and father that is, we were all extremely nervous. As I arrived to drop my kids off, we were greeting by another amazing staff member who immediately remembered my kids names, thus making the nerves go away (for me at least). That is when I suddenly remembered why I enrolled my kids here. Ever since they got home on that first day they can not stop talking about Keystone South and who their favorite counselors are. That is how I know I made the right choice for my kids. All in all, Keystone South is an amazing place to send your children to if you are looking for a local summer camp. The facility is clean, safe and secure. All of the staff members, that I have encountered thus far are very professional and really love their jobs. I am certain that Mr. Bentz only employs the highest quality of counselors. Thank you to Mr. Bentz and all of the Keystone South staff members for already making this summer a memorable one for my girls. read more

I attended the Open House for Keystone South Summer Camp after receiving their mailer, and was impressed with the organization, the activities for the kids, and also the kind and responsive staff. Having had experience with many various local camps over the past few years, it was clear this camp has their program down. This camp felt very different, as I didn't get that "day care" feeling I have had in the past with some of our local camps. This is obviously a top-notch program. My twins just finished up 2 weeks of camp here and loved it!!! As a busy mom I loved it too! The kids were there from 9-3 and were taken over (by bus) everyday to swim and play at a splash pad nearby. That was my kids favorite part and I loved that they got to go everyday of camp. I was so impressed with the efficiency of the camp counselors--especially with pick up and drop off. They have counselors there to get your kids out of the car and get them back in at the end of the day so there's no need to even get out of the car. I appreciated not having to get my baby out and back in every time I dropped them off. Also the counselors knew my kids names and were cheerful and happy. Seems like they really try to make it a fun place and that they enjoy what they do. Thanks guys for a great experience. We'll be looking up dates for next summer. read more

This camp has been a wonderful part of my daughter's summer for the past two years. The counselors are warm, friendly and fun. I've never met a group who loves their job, and the kids, as much as they do here. This is a camp where the campers get to choose from dozens of activities every day, so they aren't stuck following rigid rules. Campers also get to swim every day in a pool with water features and slides. In my opinion (and my daughter's) this is summer at it's best, the way camp is meant to be. This is the best camp in town. Packed with activities appealing to all ages. Also, with 9-3 schedule, parents can get things done with shuttling constantly. I have a counselor in training daughter that asked me to add days (how many times does a 13 y/o do that?). They swim at local pool, and can run around an entire school yard. It reminds me of camps when I was a kid. Highly recommend this for any child. read more

Love this camp!! Took my daughter here this past summer for a week and she absolutely loved it!! I did a ton of research on camps throughout San Diego which was really overwhelming however finding this gem made it worth it!! It's definitely not the cheapest in town however you can't put a price tag on quality!! Worth every penny and more!!! The counselors were so nice, attentive, organized, positive and couldn't have made things more comfortable for my daughter, being that she was new here and didn't know any other kids. From the time of drop off, they're right there at the gate to walk your child to their group which was categorized by age/grade, love that! The best part about this camp is that there are endless activities and the kids get to choose which ones they do every day, incredible!! This basically makes it impossible for them to get bored which is great!! Ok so I also want to give a shoutout to my daughter's favorite counselor, Snow Flake!!! Nice job girl, you rock!!! And big props to the owner Mike, great business you're running here my man!!! Keep it up!!! We will see you guys next Summer for sure!!! read more

Wonderful camp for my 6 year old. If you are looking for a fun, safe, warm, welcoming, accommodating, accessible camp for your child, this is it!!! First of all, the camp is filled with so many fun choices for the kids including a daily bus ride to swim at a fun pool! But also, the director, Mike Bentz, and his staff are present 100%. Any parent of young kids know that things happen, and let's say, you are running a few minutes late for the bus. Well, the director is on his cell and reachable, and able to contact his staff so they will wait for your child. Amazing. And let's say your child is new to camp and you have no idea is he will even be okay all alone on the bus. Mike was totally flexible and let us try the bus for a few days even though that option is not necessarily listed on the website. I was truly impressed with the small, close knit feel of this great camp. Sign up early next year, because this new little gem will become popular quite quickly!!! read more

I am so excited for this camp to come to town!!! Mr. Bentz (Camp Director) was my sons teacher for two years in Solana Beach and the man is incredible with kids. When I heard about his camp in the hills of Malibu, I took my son up there for 2 days. We stayed with some friends and my son and 2 friends (Also, from Mr. Bentz' class here in SB) spent the day at his camp. They were all in complete amazement after that fun day!! The following year I took all of my boys. Again, they loved every second!!! The post camp car ride was incredibly loud and fun to be a part of...... just listening to the stories and memories from the day. Keep in mind my kids didn't know ANYONE at all and had a blast. The leadership and friendliness he instills and promotes within the camp brought my boys right in!! He offers all types of activities which is the best. Like day camp was when we were kids. A huge variety of activities, games and comroderie events! I have 3 big, loud, fun boys, and finding a place for them durning the summer is critical! Waterslide, games, sports, character development, lasting memories and friendships and a ton of other activities right in my back yard! Hell YES!! read more
