Came here for the first time and I got to say it was a great experience. Basically you check in if you booked in advanced or just go to desk and make next available time that has an opening for yourself or your group. It's pretty pricey I believe it's like $79 per individual person as I glanced at pricing but we got the family package and pre paid! So first you sign all waivers then go watch a video for like 10-15 mins and learn hand signals the instructors tell you while your flying. Then you get fitted for all your gear; helmet, suit, goggles. Then you wait for about another 20-30 mins for the group in front of yours to finish. So then while your waiting and watching all the people before you you start to get nervous . There's about 20-60 people watching from the outside. And you get anxious cause you don't want to be that guy that messes up . But once it's your turn then all the anxiety goes away and adrenaline kicks in!!! The wind is so powerful I swear I was drooling , it pushes you up and with your instructor helping maneuver you around to float, I wasn't to bad for my first time. You only get two, 1 minute turns, which at first I thought wasn't enough time for the money spent , but once inside the wind tunnel, trust me it's enough time! The 2nd turn you get the option to get spun up about 20-25 ft up with your instructor a couple of times, which I did and was fun but left me hella dizzy after lol! After your flight you get a certificate and can look at your photos for purchase of course! My advice bring friends and family to watch so they can snap photos and videos for you for free!!!!! This place is very unique. Overall my reaction is that this is a 5-star experience, although I do have limiting factors that may bother some people. For starters, the staff working there are great. From the front desk to the flight instructors, they made our experience unique and wonderful. My 6-year-old had a stellar pre-birthday flight experience. That's enough to warrant 5-stars in my book. For the admission price, you get 2 flights (each is 1 minute) and as a beginner they must be level 1 flights so you kind of just go up in the air about 6 feet. (full disclosure - I've been cliff diving and practicing parkour for over 10 years, so this is not at all thrilling to me). The environment is very safe, the instructors very competent, and in no way was I nervous for my own safety or my young daughter, so that's a big plus. However, there are restrictions on what you're allowed to do. I would love to have just cranked up the wind and gone crazy for my full minute - but you must have the instructor there with you to ensure you don't hit the wall (which looked like a ton of fun - to walk or bounce sideways off the wall). This is def something you get better at as you come back. But the price tag is pretty steep. It's about $50 per MINUTE per person. So yeah, that adds up pretty quick. There's also only 1 wind tunnel in the building, which is nice because you can look at other people "flying". They also schedule very well here, so the whole experience as a beginner was about 45 minutes with changing into the suits they provide and training. I highly recommend adding on the "superman" package where the flight instructor does crank up the fan, then grabs you (or your kid) and flies you up the tunnel in a rotating circle. It's fun (though brief, maybe 4 seconds for an extra $20). My only negative thing to say is that the picture/video option sucks. It just does, there's no two ways about it. You purchase the photos videos ahead of time, but then that's only for ONE photo or video (you can choose from either of your 2 different 2-minute flights (you pay extra for the other photos and videos, per instance). But the interface on the website often puts a logo over your face so you can't even see if your eyes are open or closed. So choosing which photo or video you want isn't super intuitive or easy (why not just get them all?). Then there's the quality, which seemed pretty low. Additionally, and perhaps this was just my case, they emailed that they would send a link to download the pics/videos after I chose. It's been a week and... nothing, sadly. How is there not an instant download link to photos and videos like every other business in the world? Do the photos change folders or something? I suggest just bringing your own stuff on a tripod and setting it up so you can photo or video yourself. That one ding aside, it was a lot of fun because the people I was with also enjoyed themselves. I wouldn't necessarily go back because I got no thrill, but I can def see the draw to returning (if you can afford it). They offer a 1-time 50% off pass package for when you're still there in person, and the passes don't expire. read more

I've told my bf many MANY times before our surprise dates, "never, and I repeat, never take me skydiving... that's the one thing I refuse to do..." Well, I guess technically I didn't say "indoor skydiving" so guess what he did? He took me here! For those who are unfamiliar with indoor skydiving, there's a wind tunnel where you enter with your instructor. The instructors help to position you (your chin, hands, hips, legs) so that you can maximize your experience in the wind tunnel that's keeping you in the air. You sign up for a time slot (i.e., ours was 2pm). You come 30 minutes early to attend their class session with all the other people that signed up for the 2pm slot and then get diving! John was our instructor and he was great! We had a few kids in our group and one girl took a liking to me! I was so nervous but I had to be strong for the kids! AH! They provided us with a jumpsuit, helmet, masks, ear plugs, and lockers. All you need to do is wear the right shoes and bring yourself! We entered the wind tunnel one at a time with John. At the side of the wind tunnel, there's this machine that flashes to tell you when your time in the wind tunnel is running up. To my surprise, I was actually really good at indoor skydiving and John took note of that! It felt natural to me and he actually didn't need to provide me with much instruction. Shocking! The time goes by really quickly while you're in there and the adrenaline does hit you! So in the end, although I was mad at my bf for sneaking this on me, I had a great time! My husband and I went here to celebrate, two grandsons and their seventh birthdays! All 7 grandchildren came with their parents. 5 grandchildren ages 5-9 participated. We had no idea what to expect, and we were completely blown away by this experience! Although it seemed expensive in terms of a birthday party, ( of course we are in our 70s and used to the yesteryear cake and ice cream parties at the park lol) it was worth every penny to see how proud they were of themselves to "do something kind of scary" and how happy they were!!!! Also i always give extra Cash before we leave the building for letting our instructor know how happy and content we are with our flights . We just hosted my son's birthday at iFLY in Mission Valley and had a wonderful experience. First of all the staff was incredibly friendly and patient. Dave was very good at reading each person and fantastic with helping fearful flyers as well as very confident flyers. He was always communicating with the flyers as well as the person controlling the wind speeds. The party room was clean and stalked with sodas, plates, napkins and utensils. This is an awesome place to experience indoor Sky diving. I was scared of trying it but once I met the instructor, I felt pretty comfortable. Staff here are really nice and they know what they are doing. We did 2 flying sessions per person. I did one high and one regular. My husband could have done several more. They take horrible videos (we paid for that) so I would recommend having a friend or someone who can stay out to film your flying experience. Also, remember to wear comfortable shoes and clothes. They were running behind on that day and did apologize to us. So please plan for possible delays. However watching other people fly before your chance comes helps you prepare for the flight would recommend this place! read more

Came here for my birthday with no idea what to expect. I have zero desire to jump out of a perfectly good plane, so this was a nice alternative. The facilities themselves were nice. It looked mostly new, and was kept clean. The employees were helpful. We checked in quickly, and met with "Santiago", who provided us with all of our instruction, and would coach us during our flights. He was extremely knowledgeable, helpful, positive, and encouraging. 10/10 as far as instructors go. He took the time to fully explain everything (as we were first timers), and he made sure we understood prior to heading in. He helped us a lot during our jumps, and without him it would have been a completely different experience. This was a fun time, even though it's not really my sort of thing. My wife, however, will probably be back at some point. She had a blast. read more

Making the appointment online was easy, including filling out the waiver and such. Same day appointment on a weekend and everything! They tell you to arrive one hour early, which I don't think is necessary. When I asked why they had us do that the girl said for traffic concerns and checking in...so our family of five ended up sitting around 45 minutes waiting. I would say 30 minutes is early enough! I highly recommend coming in a group if you can. The price is a bit cheaper and it's a lot more exciting with a big group. Our trainer was Marc and he was great! Explained everything very well and made sure we were all ready to go. Now let me tell you, it is not as easy as it looks. Thank goodness that someone is in there with you to grab you When your body wants to take you right into the glass or up too high. For an additional $10 the trainers will take you to the top and spin you around. I think the only downside was the price. With a group of 12 we paid $55 each person plus an extra $10 for the "high fly" and your only actually "flying" for a total of 2 min. It is definitely something that you gotta try at least once though! read more

The most fun I've had in a long time! Wow, I didn't know that indoor skydiving would be so liberating and healing. My husband and I went to iFLY on a weekday and we were greeted instantly by all the hospitable and energetic employees who looked like they enjoyed their jobs. I call them the Directors of Fun because they literally work to make sure their guests are having fun. What a fun job! We had Marc as our instructor and wow was he so cool and talented! He guided us along the way, ensuring we felt comfortable and safe. We spent about 20 minutes to prep with a video, equipment and technique overview and then we went into it, each flying for 2 minutes. Trust me, that felt like a long time! Flying was such a rush of adrenaline, the wind was strong and you can't help but feel the oxygen flowing throughout your body. We went up 15 feet and circled around. I felt that the weightlessness of flying helped me improve my back posture. After we were done, we got to see Marc in his element, flying like a superhero and doing all kinds of tricks. It felt like a show! I really enjoyed iFLY and plan to return with family and friends. I would even suggest this for a cool corporate team building! read more

My boyfriend took me me here for the first time and it was pretty cool. The location is in Mission Valley and it's right off the freeway so it was easy to get to. Checking in was easy and quick. They take you into a room to watch a quick video and they basically tell you what you need to do. The price was $80 for two flights, which lasted for like 2 minutes each time. We also did an add-on for $9.95 and towards the end of the second flight, someone comes in there with you and flies you to the very top (recommend this because this was the best part!) Our instructor was really nice and attentive. He helped a lot. Reason why I'm giving it a 4 star is... I did not feel comfortable being in the center of attention for the people who were not flying. There was people just sitting there filming you, and it was extremely uncomfortable. Another thing, they had a video package that you could buy at the end. We bought the videos, and the quality was not that great. Besides all of that, I def recommend everyone doing this at least once in their lives. It was pretty fun. read more

Absolutely horrible. I scheduled my daughters birthday party online for a Monday at 5:30pm. I sent out invites through their website. I called right after I booked it to see what was included and they told me we d be able to have a room to have pizza and cake in after our experience. I called a week later to see if I could add a few siblings at which time I was told they are not open until 5:30pm. I was upset, but rescheduled and had them resend the invites. I also asked how much time we would have in the party room and they then informed me that their party room would be unavailable. Why am I paying for a "birthday party" to not receive the party portion. We are currently 3 days before the party and I sent reminder texts to our guest who were sent invites for the new day, but still with the time of arrival as 5:15pm. I called and spoke to someone and they said I should reach out to all my guests individually to make sure everyone could come and gave me a day to be reimbursed for anyone who could no longer make it. I tried to send an email through their contact us link and it only allowed 300 characters which is not enough to explain the situation. In a year where my daughter hasn't had much to look forward to now she won't have everyone she wanted at her birthday party. read more

My flight this past Sunday was an unparalleled experience! First off, iFLY San Diego impressed me with their prompt communication. I redeemed my Costco deal a month in advance online prior to knowing that my work schedule would change TWICE. Sorry iFLY San Diego... The first time I called to reschedule the phone was picked up right away by an actual person! My flight was rescheduled in minutes, and a confirmation email followed minutes later before I hung up. The second time I had to reschedule I called around lunchtime, so the response wasn't as immediate. I opted to leave a voicemail instead of waiting on the phone line, and again received a quick call back - no more than 10 minutes after I hung up. The iFLY San Diego employees are stellar! Further evidence of iFLY San Diego's great customer service was after my flight (if the aforementioned cases weren't proof enough): I failed to bring my Costco voucher because I didn't know I would need it to redeem my flight video included in the Costco package. *Whoops* Tom, my wonderful flight instructor, told me to write down the video number and ensured me that he'd get those to me via email. I only drove down the street to IKEA, when my phone beeped indicating the receipt of his email! Kudos, again, to the iFLY staff! Sidenote: buy the deal at Costco, you definitely save. $40 for two 2-minute flights and a video clip versus the regular price of $79.95 plus whatever miscellaneous media you want to purchase. And don't forget to bring your voucher in to redeem your flight video. Now for the actual flight experience: The confirmation email suggested I arrive an hour before my actual flight time. This left enough time to check-in, watch other people fly, and receive pre-flight instructions from Tom, my flight instructor, regarding proper body position and hand signals to use in the flight chamber. After instruction everyone in the group suited up in an iFLY flight suit, earplugs, goggles, and a helmet. For those who wear eyeglasses, there are special googles that can go over your glasses. All this equipment is provided by iFLY, you just need to ensure you are wearing lace-up sneakers/running shoes, pants, and take off all watches and jewelry. There are small lockers to store your personal items in while you take off for flight. I suggest wearing form-fitting pants or pants you can easily zip a suit over, a long-sleeve t-shirt, and perhaps a fitted beanie to wear underneath the provided helmet (depending on your level of germaphobe). I was pleasantly surprised by how sanitary the equipment actually felt. No stinky suits! And I witnessed the employees sanitize the googles and helmets right away when our flight ended. After being suited up, towards the flying chamber we went! For there being about 11 of us in the group, the two 2-minute flights each seemed to go by quickly. Everyone in my group, including myself, bought the additional high flight (a little less than $10 more) which included an instructor bringing us up higher in the flight chamber. I definitely recommend purchasing this add-on. It was a great thrill to end the final flight with! When everyone's done with their second flight, the instructor puts on an advanced flight show and after everyone turns in their equipment. There are touch screens at the equipment counter to purchase media or to redeem your media vouchers (i.e. the Costco voucher). Overall, a wonderful experience and a safe first step to skydiving! This was my first time doing anything skydive related and I felt completely safe and well taken care of. 100% recommended! Dress in comfortable form-ish fitting clothes as you are going to put on a jumpsuit and it's going to stick to you (don't wear jeans). There are a few more options to go for and you may end up spending 30-40 extra per flyer for things like a high flight (~$10 absolutely worth it for a real experience with a pro), pictures/video (if you don't have anyone not flying to snap a pic) and at the end of your purchased flights you can grab another minute for an extra $20, which is totally worth it as it greatly reduces your per minute expense, and adds to the experience. This can easily be turned into a hobby, but even for a one time or once in a while thing it's an amazing experience for ~$125 for 4 jumps read more
