The Flamin' hot burger is probably the best burger I've ever had. It has the perfect amount of jalapeños. And the fries were absolutely delicious. The service was excellent and fast, and our server was the sweetest lady. We ordered our food, and it arrived in less than 5 minutes. It's a decently small restaurant, but the design is very interesting and retro. It's very simple, but effective. The lighting was good, and the restaurant was clean. 10/10 I will definitely be back next time I'm in Carthage.

This is a cute Route 66 diner. It was quick and the food was delicious. We tried the fried okra, onion rings, grilled chicken sandwich, open faced roast beef, and my children had the Mac & cheese and the chili cheese dog with fries. The service was excellent, staff was friendly. We would go again.

We went out for a family breakfast this morning, and we had never been to Iggy's. The restaurant itself is pretty cool since it feels like a retro diner. We were seated immediately and the service was great. My husband and I were both pleased with the food both in taste and amount for the price. My only complaint (and I should know better) is that the Meat Lover's Skillet came with cheese on it, and it isn't mentioned on the menu. Normally, this would be fine, but I am dairy free. I picked it off, but if you have a dairy allergy, just ask more questions than I did. Overall, it was quick and yummy! We'll be back!

I met my friend for breakfast and we ended up taking up this corner booth for over two hours. I haven't seen her in mumble-mumble years so we had a lot of catching up to do and on a Sunday morning, our waitress didn't mind that we sat here this long. The place wasn't all that busy. I chose the Mexican Skillet with my eggs poached. They were perfect, laid right on top with just the right amount of yolk to spill out onto the mixed hash. And oh boy, the jalapenos were HOT today. Quite a few of them and spicy enough that after a bit I was setting them to the side. Delicious! Coffee was great, food was great, service was great. Five stars. The onions rings are good. The chili cheeseburger was very good. Have to eat it with a fork.

this place was pure retro in style.. the food was nothing fancy just your basic diner food done Great. They make their own Hot Sauce which is a great memory for Route 66.

I;ve wanted to come in here for sometime, the outside design looks like a cookie cutter faux 50s diner so i was expecting lots of chrome and pink and over priced burgers. But I was totally wrong. Iggy's is totally authentic! First off the food was tasty, served promptly and well just good diner food but not greasy. Where Iggy's really shines is in its vibe. It plays up the Route 66 them with trinkets and t-shirts under the front counter but does not try to be too polished or sterile as some 50s diners do. The 50s era Elvis memorabilia all looks real and old like its been their since Elvis was shaking his hips on Ed Sullivan. If a little worn down it adds to the over all authentic character of the place but worn well is not the same thing as worn out, its comfortable, not old and busted. The cadre of waitresses are also what you'd want from a small town hustling diner, fast, friendly, feisty and connecting with all the locals. I think every waitress in the place talked to me over my lunch! Just hello and can I get you anything, quick and to the point, not chatty since I was a stranger. But just the right local flavor with the locals to make them interesting to watch interact. "How's the grand kids?" and "look out for that storm a coming", "haven't seen you in a while have you been ill", etc. as they checked people out. The lunch crowd seemed mostly local too, a mix of farmers and ranchers, construction, local politicians, grandmas who lunch and gossip about old men and politics, local law enforcement, and small town politicians, truckers, traveling sales people and me. I like a mix and its fun to catch bits of the conversations which swung to every topic. I did not try the shakes but I'm guessing they will be great. I had a cheese burger and tater tots which I prefer over most fries. Iggy's has the great nugget ice and my diet Dr. Pepper was correctly balanced between syrup and carbonation (it's amazingly sad how many fast food joints have lousy sodas today). My burger was made to order and tasty with exactly what I asked for (another thing many places can't ever get right). I will be back since Iggy's is close reasonably close to my work, I wish it was in Joplin instead of Carthage as I would be inclned to drop in on weekend breakfasts too.

Love this place, the breakfast is amazing. My first experiences here were in the afternoon or evening and their lunch/dinner menu is excellent. It's great "diner" food served with a smile and first class service. My favorite, by far, here is now the breakfast menu. It's definitely one of the top breakfast places in the 4-state area. You gotta try this place, breakfast, lunch or dinner it's a great place to eat. read more

After all of the great reviews I did not know what to expect. I was glad to see that I was not disappointed. The huge burger was fresh, moist, and choc full of flavor fresh off the flat top. The onion ring side that complimented the awesome burger was also top notch! They were thin sliced and seemed to be freshly battered. They were crisp, tasty and some of the best that I have ever had. read more

The food was great. The waitress gave us her opinion of the best things on the menu and she was spot on. We even tried a new menu item to us called Spaghetti Red. We weren't sure if we would like it but we did. It had a nice hometown feel with great food and great service. Would definitely recommend!!! read more

Great Find on our Holiday Road trip. Had breakfast that was great. Chicken Fried Steak, Biscuits&Gravy, & a PhilliCheeseSteak Omelet did NOT disappoint anyone in our party with great taste and perfect portions. Just wish had saved room for PIE! Jersey Diner in Carthage Missouri Great service at lunch. Prompt and fast. Refills kept coming. Had the lunch special of 1/2 pounder with bacon and eggs, yummy. Fries are why the 4 stars. They were soggy and tasted as much. read more

After eating here, I can see why this place is voted best diner in MO. It is a super unique small town diner with lots of character and most importantly the nicest wait staff ever. My daughter came in cranky because she just woke up and Brittany (Mgr) and Tabitha wouldn't leave her alone until she was having a blast and said best place ever. read more

August 31,2018 Lunchtime:! Nice place with many Elvis decorations on the wall. Sufficient parking. Got a wrong first impression of the staff. The black lipstick and tattoos had me thinking I was in the wrong place. Actually, the staff was very Friendly and they wasted little time taking care of their customers. This alone deserves at least ab4!star. There was some "banter" between the waitresses. Apparently something internal was going on that affected the waitresses. There was attitude clearly evident. Having stated that, Our waitress was super and very nice to us, the customer. Let's talk Food! Ordered the hamburger basket with a side of onion rings. Burger was grey in color, had yellow lettuce, thin pickles, onion and one slice of thin tomato. I asked for Mayo and mustard and both were heavily on the bottom bun, top bun was dry. Not impressed! Their Onion Rings were hot and appeared to be made in-house. Half the batter didn't stick to the onions, probably because the onion was cut too thinly. We ate the part of the onion rings that were coated in batter. That part was very good. Iggy, cut your onions thicker and go to a better method of battering your onions. I say this as a person with experience in the culinary arts having attended two different culinary schools and managed restaurants. I've also trained waitresses and waiters how to do their jobs and make more tips. I've been there too! Left a 35% tip as our waitress did a great job. read more

It's a diner with diner food. Burger was a burger... good but again a typical diner burger. The fries were fresh cut and ample. Tator tots were light and crispy. Service was good though waitress' sometimes got distracted with regulars and we're quite loud. The waitress' were funny and friendly though! The decor is fun 50s themed. Not anything to complain about and may have been better if we ordered the spaghetti as it seemed like it was quite popular with the regulars with pickles and onions??? Check it out, it's a neat stop. read more

The food is great and I used to really love coming here but it's stressful seeing your food sit in the window for 10 minutes while waitresses run around getting drinks and food orders for everyone while walking past your food. Even food put up in the window after ours was taken to the table before ours. If I wanted cold food I would have had ice cream. read more

We went to Iggy's after reading reviews here on Yelp. We were not disappointed. The burgers were great. The onion rings were good, but are not like traditional rings they were more like what other restaurants call onion straws. Don't go to Iggy's looking for a desert. All they have is molten cake and ice cream. read more

Prices are just right and the amount of food is plentiful! Hamburgers were large and thick and the tenderloin was equally large, but not so large that it's overwhelming, like many places. I love the diner feel. The only thing that would make it better would be poodle skirts! read more

We ate here at lunch yesterday. One girl had chicken fried steak, she said it was good but was not a fresh chicken fried steak, it was pre-frozen. I had chicken nachos that had a good flavor but the chips that had cheese on them were soggy by the time I received my plate. The chips that didn;t have cheese were stale. The chicken had a good flavor but was very dry and over cooked. We will try again but only once more. :) read more

Meh. The service and atmosphere were 5 stars but couldn't make up for the bad food. I felt like the food was what you would get at a state fair instead of a restaurant. The nachos came with that cheese-like vegetable shortening product instead of real cheese. read more

just ate dinner at iggys and it is the worst place I have ever eaten. the food was not hot and the nothing was fresh all was either frozen or out of an envelope. I will never go back again and I am a resident of Carthage. The service was terrible as well , the waitress never even checked on us to see if we wanted a refill on our drinks or if the food was ok. So please take my advise don't eat here and if you do , it will be at your own risk. The Williams Family. read more

Great, juciy and tasty burgers. If you are looking for a good ol American burger you will find it enthroned in a basket here at Iggy's. Healthy (figuratively speaking) portions. Tried the curly fries and they are standard fair. If you are a burger conisier you will be pleasantly pleased. read more

We stopped on our way to KC, and we're glad we did! Good and service was great. We stopped in on a Thursday afternoon and had no wait at 1145am, and food was pretty fast. I ate the cheeseburger and did half onion rings, half Suzy q's, it was great! Husband had grilled chicken salad and said it was good, kids had corndog with fries (reg fries are like home sliced and cooked, good!) and chicken strip (1) and applesauce. I'd definitely recommend! Cute little diner with good food. read more

I went there today for breakfast and they have some of the best breakfast I've ever had. I got biscuits and gravy with eggs and hash browns and it was absolutely amazing. Service was really laid back and fast. Our food was fresh and hot and really didn't take that long to make. Wonderful place to eat. read more

We stopped to spend the night in Carthage on our way home to New Mexico. We had our two small dogs with us and didn't want to leave them in the hotel room, so we ordered take out from Iggy's (which I found on Yelp!). The food was great! We both got hamburgers (he got the double and I got the single...PLENTY for my big appetite!) The fries were obviously homemade...a nice change! The "star" of the dinner were those chocolate shakes! mmmmmm! We'll be back next time we're passing through! Thanks! read more

We are a wonderful themed 50's style classic Diner on Route 66. There are decorated walls with 45's records and albums, walls for Elvis, Marilyn Monroe, James Dean, with oldies music playing. Friendly Service and Good Prices and Kids welcome.

Established in 1999.

Iggy's Diner has always tried to follow the classic Diner friendly service and food with a great atmosphere and experience. We have remodeled and upgrade equipment through the years and have Free WiFi now also. Iggy's is a 50's style Diner with nostalgic wall paper of Elvis, James Dean, Marilyn Monroe and 45 records/albums/pictures along with Route 66 theme. We have many customers visit from all over the world and US as we are on the historic route 66.

The place is 102 years old, real retro like and is on the second set of owners. People seem to like it as there were takeout orders. My chicken fried steak was hand breaded & huge! They were out of lots of appetizers and sides like mozzarella sticks & French fries. But I tried fried mushrooms, and they were good. Nice house made ranch. My waitress was the sweetest lady ever. And it's a very cute diner inside. Like others have said, it's bigger than it looks from outside! I'll definitely be back.
