These guys are the definition of dishonest and hidden fees. The movers themselves were fine. But Frank Rivas was intentionally dishonest about the fee structure. And they didn't show me a bill or give me any indication of how much it would cost until the charge showed up on my credit card 50% higher than the estimate. Beware of hidden costs they quoted me $455 for the job after I put in zip codes to and from and answered all The questions truthfully they where on there cell phones, moving extra slow, carrying 1 small item at a time I had to ask Then if they had a dolly and then they started using it.... a 4 hour job took 8 hours and I was charged$1,000 after receiving an estimate of $455 they added drive time which should have been included with the estimate I did give the distance I was way overcharged for a group of slow moving workers.... I was moving from a two-story 2 bedroom condo in San Rafael to the same situation in Novato. In all of my several previous moves, l had enlisted the help of friends (and family). I don't like moving and I'm sure my friends don't either, but they help me because they are great people. I was hoping to hire a mover to just move the big stuff so that I could save some money and do the rest on my own. Before choosing a mover, I read many reviews of the most highly rated movers in Marin County. It turns out if you hire a very highly rated mover, it's going to cost a lot of money. I had spoken with one mover who only charged $55/hour per person, but wanted to use 4 movers for the entire day. Eeek! I didn't have two grand for a move. I'm sure it wouldn't have been a flawless move, but I've got other bills to pay. I found Sunny because I was hoping that Petaluma might be cheaper. It's not, but I chose them because they were able to get a couple of guys out for a move within a couple of days. They showed up on a Saturday morning and were a half hour late, but they did call and let me know. I signed a short contract and then we discussed the details of the move: what's being moved and where does it go in the new place. Both guys were very hard working, so I decided to let them move as much of my stuff as possible. In the end, the move cost me more than I wanted to spend, but it saved me from several days of recovery from lifting all of my boxes. I chose to do my move per hour. I had two guys who were $70/hour. The 27 foot truck was included. They will charge you for the time it takes to drive to your place from Petaluma. Many movers (Sunny included) will give a fixed rate quote for a move. I chose the hourly option because I wasn't sure how much I wanted them to move. There was also a 3 hour mininum. I recommend this company for your next move. The quote I was given was not even close to what I had to pay. It was twice that. A third man was added, without my knowledge, which cost me an extra $75.00/ hour. After they got to my house the third man sat in the truck while the other 2 unloaded into the garage. These men were lovely people who worked hard. I doubt they get paid enough for what they do. It was a Saturday and a 3 day weekend, but there was no extra charge for that-supposedly. When I asked for the receipt they said it would be emailed. I waited a week and had to ask the owner to send it. I also asked him why he doubled the price. He didn't answer that. I was happy with the men's work, but was left feeling taken advantage of. read more

Two stars simply because everyone was so nice. This was a total s***show and I would definitely suggest looking elsewhere. Here's the deal: 1) They sent two people to what easily should have been a 3-4 person job. 2) The two guys were not given a ramp to get down our single porch step, so they emptied an entire house and garage by CARRYING EACH BOX BY HAND. No hand truck. No dolly. The boxes were packed, stacked and labeled - ready to roll for anyone with a hand truck. While the guys were amazingly hard-working and nice, this was a ridiculously inefficient way to approach this job. 3) As you can imagine, doing the job this way took HOURS upon HOURS longer than estimated. When paying an hourly rate, you can imagine how frustrating this was. Dispatch sent in some reinforcements about 8 hours later but the damage had been done. 4) We had spent weeks neatly labeling and organizing each box by room and location. These labels were ignored and nearly all boxes were haphazardly placed in the family room or stacked in the garage. We spent the next few months discovering misplaced boxes EVERYWHERE. 5) They dropped and broke an antique bedframe. While they fixed it on their dime, it was the better part of a month before we got it back. After all of this, we paid for a moving company and they moved us. I can't believe we were still charged full price. While all of these guys were very nice, we still feel like we got taken for a ride. read more

Frank and his crew provided great service for our small office move. After a mechanical issue, they raced to pick up another truck and were only an hour behind schedule. Sunny movers crew were accommodating to last minute add-ons and worked hard loading and unloading the truck. Sunny movers helped with a move recently. Three guys arrived 30 minutes earlier than the scheduled start time/. 2 with smiles on their faces and one who looked like he was simply about his business. Apparently the 3 guys doing the moving were not aware of the size of the job as they were shocked when they saw how much they were going to move. They took it in stride however and got the job done. They worked quickly and were extremely careful not to bump or damage anything. There were a few large and delicate items moved and they really went the extra mile to ensure they were handled with care. They took a bit longer than quoted to complete the move which meant, I had to pay a bit more. But in all fairness, I did receive an approximate quote and the owner did tell me that it could take longer than the amount of time quoted over the phone. A couple of items were damaged in the move. I realized it later that day after the move was complete and the guys were gone. I contacted the owner who was very responsive, he apologized for the mishap and asked how much I wanted back for the damage. I received the check for the amount that I requested in the mail about 9 days later. All in all it was a good move and I was satisfied with the service. Could it have been better - yes, of course I would have preferred nothing was damaged, however in this case, I was happy that the owner owned it and took care of it quickly and fairly. They were unable to move us with short notice but were kind enough to recommend Sunny Movers to us. And it was a GREAT recommendation. We had several stairs to move down and hired Sunny Movers with one truck and two guys. They were total workhorses. We were quoted at 5-6 hours with two guys with a possibility of it going a bit over. Well, they arrived at 11 and were done with the whole move by 330. They worked hard and never stopped except for a few water breaks. I give two of the three guys high marks for their incredibly hard work. There always a slacker. They also get high marks for availability at a very busy moving time. Around Labor Day 2021 folks were leaving CA in droves. The guy who bid the job came to the house, took notes, then had me take him to our storage unit, took more notes, and then on moving day the truck wasn't big enough. I had to decide what not to take. This ended up costing me multiple weekends, 2 truck rentals, and unpaid time off work to finish the job. On the back end the guys were doing a great job putting things where I ask, until the money guy showed up and helped. Suddenly boxes were stacked no where near the rooms for which they were labeled. I am so unhappy with this moving experience. They talk a great game on the phone and somehow have decent reviews. I'm a very practical person and only ever expect the basics from any company. To start they showed up way too early and then took forever to load and then got lost driving to my new home and charged me for the time they were lost. They then proceeded to hang around and not really move very fast (paid by the hour) and also proceeded to scrape my walls, break my very nice tv and scratch and dent speakers and furniture. They also lost the legs to my sofa. All of which was reported only to be told they didn't do this and even after sharing pictures, Benjamin told us "we didn't break it" and you didn't buy enough insurance. We've been going back and forth and he keeps lying to keep me from writing what he knows will be a terrible review. But he hasn't kept his word to take care of any of this, continues to not accept responsibility so here I am posting about this horrible experience. Please don't use this company. I'll also be taking this up with Amex regarding being overcharged. One last thing... after the move the very large moving team sat in the living room and basically intimidated us until the bill was paid at the amount they overcharged us for eight extra hours. We are organized and don't really have a ton of things to move, just the standard stuff and it took 16 hours to move a one bedroom apartment to a two bedroom apartment from Sonoma to Mill Valley? 16 hours! If I could leave negative stars I would. What should have been a happy day for me -- moving into the house of my dreams -- was ruined by the most unprofessional moving company I've ever worked with. From the top down, there was a lack of communication and excuses. While the mover were nice guys, they were late on the packing day and on the moving day. They even ran out of boxes! What kind of moving company runs out of boxes?! Then, they stood around pointing fingers at each other. They didn't really know how to pack, and many boxes were poorly marked. They broke an antique Chinese lamp I've had in my family for years, as well as the front of my new house because they are so inexperienced they failed to strap down a sofa bed and it "opened" while they were trying to get it through the front door. I could go on, but suffice to say that I wish I had read a review warning me against this company prior before I hired them. read more
