My husband texted their number at 10pm and Dr. Kim responded the next morning asking if I could come in at 8:30am. Not only is the office closed on Fridays, but this happened the weekend of 4th of July. Dr. Kim graciously fixed my filling with gentle care. He made me feel comfortable and was happy to help even on a non-business day. All the while, not being a patient on their file. Our son was treated there on/off for about 1.5 years, and we constantly had to argue with them (while in the office) to make sure they are not adding extra services (that were not previously discussed). Also, each time they would confirm that we will not pay anything out of pocket. Now after 2 years, I receive a bill, stating insurance did not fully cover some of the fillings. When questioned, their answer was, it was maxed out and just casually apologized for sending the bill two years later. Seriously? Never again.

But my absolute most favorite person to talk to and get my cleanings done with is Huang. She's so down to earth and easy to talk to. She's careful and wont wet you and poke you on accident. She explains everything she does. And the whole cleaning experience feels like a spa! They even give you a hot towel to clean your chin/mouth area up when you're done. There's snacks in there and drinks. Everything is clean and the outside area is adorable. I don't have trouble parking and I don't have to wait. Just walk in and they are ready for my appointment! I saw a video online recently that said it's actually very difficult to find good dentists to do cleanings because many are shady and will only have their dental assistants polish your teeth. I do not have that experience here. The technology is modern and advanced, even some of my old dental places didn't have what they have here. Note: I am a cash paying customer. I do not go through insurance. It's a little expensive compared to other places but you get what you pay for. The experience is much much much better here. And for anyone worried about dealing with people who have accents from their home country, that's also not the case here. They speak fluent English with no accent. Which I know is a weird comment but I think some people care about that. So don't worry about it. It's also super cool that the dentist and hygienist are sisters lol. By the end, I was so uncomfortable going back that I didn't even return to have my braces removed. Dr. Bakar ended up removing them and helping me start over. Finding Dr. Bakar was a complete turning point. From the first consultation, he listened. He took the time to hear my concerns, explain what had happened, and walk me through my options. Every visit since then has been the same. He is patient, understanding, easy to talk to, and never makes me feel rushed. If I have a question, he answers it. If I have a concern, he listens. What impressed me most is the attention to detail he brings to his work. You can tell he takes pride in what he does. As an engineer, he has an incredible eye for precision, and the technology he uses is far more advanced than anything I experienced previously. The difference in treatment has been night and day. Today is a Saturday and the office was already closed by the time this happened, so I text the after hours number and Dr Bakar immediately said he could meet us at the office in 10 minutes. He came in on a Saturday evening to take care of my daughter and help her get those baby teeth out so she could be comfortable again. I am so thankful that he would do that for us and just feel so lucky that we found an orthodontist who is that kind and really cares about his patients. So thank you Dr. Bakar for being the best! Accurate rating description for two starts is "could've been better." This place only has PA/NP…read moreand no MD on site. They have the capability to draw blood and send to lab for stat orders. Unfortunately, what they lack ends up a longer list. The first MA was unable to get a vial of blood and said someone else would try on my other arm with a straight needed (vs butterfly). She left me without even putting a bandaid on the arm she poked and I had to struggle to put the bandaid on one handed while still maintaining pressure on it. Next MA comes and draws blood and when she's done she yelps I don't have a cotton ball (to put on the vein she just drew out of) and my blood is just pooling while she puts a bandaid on. Luckily I'm well versed enough to know I needed to put pressure on my bandaid. The NP who saw me was new to (per the MA) she really didn't put my mind at ease. Her expertise and knowledge seemed lacking based on the answers to my questions. First thing she asked me was, why are you here and not the ER? I told her my PCP sent me here because she didn't feel it necessitated a ER visit. She wanted me to be evaluated by YOU to assess and in your medical opinion, do I need to be seen further or what course of action next? She swabbed me for flu and covid and I verbally questioned her because I had isolated severe GI symptoms. She said sometimes those present wither GI only. Does it? I don't know, I'm not an MD but I'm also someone who works in healthcare and it didn't feel like the proper procedure. When I asked if she would be ordering any stool samples, I heard through my closed door "do we do that?". Ok, she's new, I'll give her that...but she comes back in and says "if you'd like to have the order for stool testing I'm happy to give that to you." Am I the md or am I the patient? I came here for your professional medical opinion! Do I?! So after I kindly communicated that I am looking to her for her opinion as the expert whether or not my symptoms necessitate an order, she still doesn't quite give me a direct answer! I haven't been to that many urgent cares, but I've come to see a trend that many of the urgent cares that are owned by a company with multiple locations don't have MD's on staff physically there. That said, I've also noticed the trend that many provide sub-par care.

I refused to pay the $50 to come BACK to the office the same day, for the RX. 3. His physicians assistant incorrectly diagnosed me as having HPV. And I had to go to another doctor for an incredibly painful procedure, all for nothing. I did not have HPV. 4. In my opinion Kurtz now has a God complex, he didn't used to. ***5. THEY REFUSED TO TREAT ME, AFTER I LEFT MY URINE SAMPLE....UNLESS I PAID WHAT FEELS LIKE A $50 EXTORTION FEE, in order to give me my prescription. When the doctor says they don't hold back care because of an unpaid balance, that is entirely incorrect, and I believe he's lying. His behavior is reprehensible, and he is fully aware of this. Don't say you weren't warned. ....*add the fact that he stands by his uneducated and extremely unprofessional staff, says even more. Do better Dr Kurtz. We ended up going to Dr Annette Bernhut in Orange and she is AWESOME. She cares about you as a person, vs you being the enemy

Throughout my life, I've visited about six different dental offices, each offering a variety of experiences. In many cases, I encountered challenges with transparency in billing, issues with insurance processing, recommendations for seemingly unnecessary treatments, and environments that were not particularly welcoming. I have been seeing Dr. Lee for many years now. He is the best! He is kind, considerate, conscientious, and very friendly, and those of you who are afraid, beware - he is VERY GENTLE. The office staff is great too. They know what they are doing and keep on top of things. I have found that is one way of knowing if the whole experience will work. The staff is more than GREAT. Look no further for a dentist. Dr Lee and this staff are wonderful: they run a tight ship and i have never had to wait very long to be seen. They are very accommodating with kids (I have a 4 1/2 year old and a 16 months old, and I can take them both in at the same time!). Also my husband is the biggest baby when it comes to the dentist, but he has nothing but praises for Dr Lee's gentle ways. He is truly very careful to make you as comfortable as he can (he even let me use his headphones and CD player once i had to get a filling and was hoping to block out the drilling sounds!). read more

It's extremely important that pregnant women get routine cleanings during their pregnancy as they are at increased risk of gum disease. Dr Lee chooses to go against all major guidelines and enforce his own policy denying pregnant women important dental care that they need. I find this to be a red flag, if he's uncomfortable doing a basic cleaning for someone who's pregnant, I wonder if he is truly confident in his skills as a dentist overall.
