We found our new local Mexican restaurant option. The lime green painted exterior deterred us from trying this place for a while. The inside is similarly brightly decorated but it's in a welcoming and zesty way that I enjoyed. Menu is expansive and they have great prices. Cheapest guac I have ever seen and it was good! The queso with chorizo in it was really good too (and again larger portions than we were expecting which was a nice surprise). We all had different items and every plate was tasty! We will definitely become regulars here. We had good service as well. They regularly have coupons in local mailings though honestly it's still a great value without the coupons. read more

I have ordered from this location in Plainfield several times. And I feel like I'm being generous with a four stars. They've only gotten my order correct what's out of five or six times I've ordered. I will say that the portion size is always good and that the food does taste good 4 out of the 5 times. I sent special instructions with every order as I am a diabetic and also on keto. Which apparently are just impossible to follow. Every time I order I request hot salsa of any kind and I just find it hard to believe that a Mexican restaurant doesn't have any kind of hot sauces. We choose this place after reading reviews from Yelp. Did not disappoint! Food was delicious. The salsa was fresh and chips were served hot. The margaritas were yummy, not too sweet. Place was clean. Only thing I didn't like was the noise level, which I believe another Yelper also said. It's a small restaurant, I could say I wish I wasn't sitting so close to my neighbors but, it was good food. Very good shredded beef tacos, and chili poblano. Get the pablano with no sauce and use the salsa from eating the chips, more flavor. The sauce on the pablano taste like pizza sauce. Salas is very good and have a little spice to it. read more

Although the place was packed when I arrived, I was greeted and seated promptly. I took advantage of their low priced lunch options getting free salsa & chips, and a lunch sized Chimichanga with lots of options for $5.99. I liked that the Chimi came with my choice of soft or fired tortilla, with beans or rice, and I could add cheese sauce or red sauce. The Chimi was definitely smaller than most places, but since I knew it would be, I was fine with that. (My waistline probably is too!) The salsa was a little bit spicy and has nice veggie chunks. Very nice! The service was prompt and even check out was quick too. (You can have the staff run your payment like a regular restaurant or take your bill up to the front and pay yourself.) The only negative was that there wasn't much visual appeal to the meal or setting. Stumbled upon Iguana's after I was told it had good food at the Brownsburg location. They were packed when we pulled in, however there was no wait. We were seated immediately. If this is one of the top Mexican places in Plainfield, that makes me very sad. Complimentary chips and salsa hit the table. Salsa was watery and bland. It didn't really taste like anything. It looked like salsa and felt like salsa, but it was just a pile of cold on a chip. Guacamole was also very bland. Choriqueso was pretty good, but at other places it's topped with charred onion and tomato. Here is a more literal translation of just Chorizo and Queso I had difficulty finding anything I wanted. Where's the taco options? What about chilequiles? A couple of big fun burritos? I got a fajita quesadilla because nothing else seemed awesome. It was okay, but needed salt. Service was great. When you first walk in you think oh this looks just like all the other Mexican restaurants that I have been to, but it is the service and food that will put it over the top. When you sit down someone comes and brings chips and salsa right away. If spicy salsa isn't your jam be sure to ask for mild salsa because they bring the spicy out. Shortly after being seated you will have a waiter come and take your drink order and food if you are ready. Then it is just a short wait for the food The wait staff is amazing here. They are always checking on you to make sure that you are doing okay and refill your drink almost as soon as it is gone. The food is always good and very reasonably priced . I usually get the Arroz Con Pollo and it has just the right cheese to chicken/rice ratio. They usually also have a margarita special going on. Can't miss the place. It's a self-standing building that is bright green nestled back in a parking lot. When you first walk into the restaurant, the colorfully festive decor will most likely put you in a fun mood. It did us, anyway. The atmosphere is cozy and fun. The food is great. It was hot and served quickly by a friendly waiter. Not much more that I could ask for. The staff struggled a little with English, but not enough to matter. I had no trouble communicating with them. Stinky cheese! We were excited to try this place as there aren't too many good Mexican restaurants around this area. Our server was gruff and uncaring. I have lived in the area here almost 5 years now and after living in the southwest in cities like Phoenix and San Diego where they have excellent Mexican food I had all but given up on finding decent Mexican food here until I discovered Iguana's. Their Arroz con pollo is just amazing. It's chicken, rice and cheese and it is really great. I often get it with Carne Asada as well and they have some of the best Carne Asada around. The next reason that this place gets 5 stars is service and price. You wont beat their prices anywhere in town. They do lunch Monday-Saturday from 10:30-3 and that makes it even cheaper. This used to be my favorite Mexican Restaurant however I use to enjoy the quite peaceful environment of the restaurant. The last few times that I have visited there is this loud Mexican music.
