First time I came in I sat in the bar and got the best experience... muddled my jalapeño margarita to perfection - that's all I had and I only ordered chips and salsa... I left him a $20 tip on a $15 tab Second time I came in I got a female bartender who was so bothered by me and I don't understand why Ordered the same jalapeño margarita no muddle so it doesn't even taste like jalapeño margarita I ordered then a beer - what she misunderstood me and made me another margarita so when I told her no, I wanted to go she got upset and made someone else. Serve me. I did nothing wrong was not rude, but can I say in the moment I thought that was a hidden gem - the salsa is to die for here. I don't think I will ever be back Even asked the man who served me after she refused to is she mad at me? What did I do? Not my cup of tea - if bland Mexican food was tea that is.... My daughter and I stopped in Friday evening thinking Friday is a good day for tacos. We were quickly sat and chips with a slightly (oddly) sweet not spicy salsa was dropped off. We then waited 15+ minutes before anyone stopped by for a drink or food order. When the server finally came by my daughter ordered a fiesta ranchero burrito and I had carnitas. The burrito was small - lightly filled with unseasoned ground beef and surrounded by bland rice and beans and left soaking in the water from the lettuce & tomatoes that was placed on top. The carnitas were mainly chunks of pure fat with only a couple bites of pork also surrounded my unseasoned bland rice and beans , also in a watery plate of lettuce tomato water... someone really should have drained it or maybe used a salad spinner or something... ugh! I'm not sure why nothing had flavor-- I get that we are in Indiana, but some of us do like things a little spicy! Work like 5 minutes away so thought I'd try this place. Got these beef tacos (yea I don't like toppings) and also chicken tacos. Chicken tacos were good, and while the beef tacos were decent. I definitely expected something better then what Taco Bell serves which is pre-made shells. Beef itself had good flavor but even just a few minutes driving and the meat was always lukewarm which was a huge disappointment. I personally won't go back, but I wouldn't be surprised if they have other food on the large menu that taste great read more

Been going here damn near weekly since we moved here a year ago. SERVICE IS ALWAYS TOP TIER! Very fast and accommodating. Ambiance is very laid back and family friendly, they always have multiple games on for sports fans as well. And the food is FIRE no matter what I get on the menu it doesn't disappoint. Oh man, where have I been?! The first time I dined at Fiesta Ranchera was in my high school days. Just had it again nearly 20 years later. How can I have overlooked this South side gem for so long?! On a little strip mall located SW Indy lies this delicious eatery. Inside is a nice, clean modern style layout with some dashes of art. The images of hispanic men in traditional outfits on horseback are nice standouts. The booths have a classy, dark brown color with comfy back padding. My server was very sweet and enthusiastic, and the other staff was very upbeat as well. I noticed very friendly interactions with other customers, likely regulars. A couple times I heard a staff person singing loud & proud in Spanish from the kitchen or nearby! The fajita chicken burrito was my selection last night. A great, zesty blend of tender, well seasoned chicken with grilled peppers and onions, wrapped in a soft shell topped with queso sauce. Half was consumed, and I look forward to finishing the leftovers later today! Haha! One small complaint is the menu layout. It seems to have a wide array of selections. But most items are noted on a long list that feels cluttered and a bit hard to read. I love this place so much! Such a classic go to Mexican restaurant. We used to go there weekly when we lived in south Indy and still stop by when I can! The service is impeccably fast and they get to know your order after a while. The queso is delicious and we love their chicken fajitas. My husband and I can share a single order of chicken fajitas, we just order an extra set of tortillas. Love their rice!!! The restaurant is clean and not too crowded in. They have free parking available in the small strip mall, which it is located. Well, they give complementary warm chips and salsa to patrons, so I guess it is officially a Mexican restaurant. They have TVs playing all around the restaurant. I came during the lunch rush and this place was packed, but I was seated immediately. They have COVID precautions in place such as having to wear a mask until you are eating/drinking and limiting capacity. Even though they have removed some tables, the ones that are left are not socially distanced. They have a very extensive menu with chalupas, burritos, tacos, flan, nachos, beans and rice. I ordered combo #23 a burrito, a taco, and a chalupa. Mine as well as others around me had our food brought out lightening fast. I took only about 5 minutes. The food is hot and be warned, the plate is hot. The food is good. If you forget, you will only touch the plate once. They also have a bar where you can get you frozen flavored margaritas, beer. This restaurant was ok. I would say a 3.5 star rating is more appropriate. It just did not set itself apart from all the other tex-mex restaurants out there. I have a soft spot for local Mexican Restaurants. Fiesta Ranchera has become a household favorite of mine and I cannot get enough of their Chicken Soup! It's a brothy less spicy version of chicken tortilla soup. My only wish is that they attended to bar customers more. I was introduced to this Mexican Restaurant by a friend, and it has become one of our favorites to visit in the area! This makes for an interesting parking situation due to the smaller sized parking lot that is shared with a few other stores in the shopping center. If you cannot find a parking spot in the front of the building, there is always room on the side of the building. And it's not too far of a walk, at all! Even with how busy this place can get, I have never had a poor experience with service, wait time, or quality of food. I truly love the family that owns this restaurant and love, love, love their margaritas, but I am scared to eat here. I got very sick after eating there one night and chalked it up to too much tequila. It happened once again a few months later after I had a vegetarian fajita and margarita. I started to think I had developed an allergy to my favorite drink. However, I went again and drank water and still got sick. My last time trying was with me and my date only eating chips and salsa and getting one drink. We both started throwing up profusely about 3 hours after we left. Since all of this, I have talked to other friends who also got sick after eating there-most were vegetarians. I would guess the onions are no good and someone mentioned maybe even the water in the ice. I have had margaritas at other places since Fiesta and, though they aren't as good, I didn't get sick. Ok real talk. Remodel they did is amazing and it looks fabulous. The food here is some of the best Mexican food I've ever had. I alway get the steak tacos because I feel like it is wasted trip if I don't. They are absolutely perfect and their tomatillo sauce is exceptional. Having said all of that.... My disappointment in their margaritas is extreme. I will never understand why a Mexican restaurant would use a sweet and sour mix for their margaritas rather than fresh fruit juice.
