Dr. Andrawess...where do I start. He is phenomenal. I now live in Philadelphia and STILL fly back to see him only. How I found him? Emergency at 5pm w/ a cracked crown from a recent root canal. Panicked because I didn't think anyone would take me at this hour. He put a temporary on and then replaced it with a new crown. Yes, people, I've had a lot of cavities in my life and even a root canal before I hit the dirty 30... I know who a good dentist is and I know who a phenomenal dentist is. His work? Patient and thorough and painless. (True - i never like the numbing q-tip and shot...but that's for the scientists to discover a new way to get around that :) ). His dental assistant and hygienist: very thorough. This office does not rush through their work. When you get rushed (as I have experienced) you will walk out in pain. Dr. Andrawess explains everything very thoroughly about why you must floss (he lit the light bulb for me that flossing is important and causes bad breath, etc,etc...) No other doctor was able to get the important points to me... use your fluoride...etc. As mentioned, almost 30 and no dentist has been able to get it across how important it is. For majority of my visits it's Dr. Andrawess who cleans my teeth. You don't find that often, and I think that is also very important. How else would they really know our (bad) habits and give you tips or even get to know your teeth (or even you for that matter!) I referred my husband, my old work colleague and they absolutely love him as well. He IS WORTH the $300 flight back to CA to get my dental work done. FUN TIP: he has a TV monitor above...if you have cavities and any longer procedure, they'll find your favorite show on netflix, hulu and play it while they are working on you. My Dentist moved out of town so I found Dr. Andrawess on Yelp. I am so glad I found him and his practice. Christina did such a thorough job cleaning my teeth and explained everything she was doing. She is incredibly meticulous and very nice. Dr. Andrawess also did a very thorough examination, checking the health of my teeth and gums as well as my ENTIRE mouth, something I didn't experience much with previous dentists. Saw the reviews on Yelp and decided to check him out. My dentist back in Michigan is a family relative, so I had to find a good dentist that lives up to my standards. Dr. Andrawess is the perfect choice. He is very detailed and explained everything to me as I got my teeth cleaned. I had a tooth ache and went to see him again. He diagnosed my issue correct and sent me to an Endodontist to get it checked out. I had a root canal done and Dr Andrawess did a great job with my crown. The Endodontist he sent me too was very patient and a great recommendation as well. He is my permanent dentist out here for sure now. read more

Dr. Andrawess is great and I'm very satisfied! :) For first time in my life I don't hate going to the dentist! Every time I go to his office things go very smoothly. He doesn't try to sell me things and he does a great job. I just went back there a few weeks a go to redo one of the fillings form my previews dentist, I didn't have the usual problem with uneven and uncomfortable fillings, he just did the filling and it was perfect! I didn't even had to tell him to make it shorter or anything. Ihab and his Dental Hygienists are also very nice and friendly. My favorite dentist! I'm not a huge fan of tooth cleaning (not that I dislike it, but I just don't love it and I forget to go for long periods of time, making it worse). Well let's just say after nearly TEN years without a cleaning, Dr. Ihab was the unlucky recipient of my barnacle-encrusted teeth. He came highly recommended on the Google internal dentist list, and I immediately knew why. Besides his obvious passion for his work, being meticulous and patient (he spent well over an hour hand scraping away the crustaceans, with zero notable painful grinding or poking), Dr. Ihab is hilarious and a fun guy to talk to (as much as talking is possible with your mouth open wide.) Years later, after many years of service, one of my teeth finally developed an unfortunate crater and needed filled. It was my first filling and I was somewhat worried about how it would go. In the end, I needn't have been. Ihab did a stellar job making the procedure as painless and smooth as possible, and in the end I had more laughs than grimaces that visit, this guy has some great stories and my tooth looks as good as new! The Dental Hygienists on the team are very thorough and also really care about their craft. I especially enjoy Dani, who has a magic touch for flossing and is very gentle! read more

I first went to Dr Andrawess two years back when I had a lot of build up, some shaky teeth, bleeding gums and a wisdom tooth that had a whole new set of other problems. Dr Andrawess at that time did a complete examination of my teeth and suggested a number of procedures. I got a deep cleaning done, some cavities filled and the troublesome wisdom tooth was extracted. Dr Andrawess carried out all of these procedures meticulously and they were almost painless. After a few visits to his clinic, I asked Dr Andrawess what I could do to make sure I keep my teeth intact. He was very honest with me and said the only way to do so was by flossing and brushing the right way, everyday, and following his instructions to maintain dental hygiene. I did as I was told by Dr Andrawess. Recently I visited him after about 12 months of my last cleaning job. I was expecting very little cleaning since I felt I was doing a good job at maintaining dental hygiene. When Christina confirmed by saying that my teeth were in almost impeccable condition, I felt great. She said if I continue doing whatever I have been doing for the last 12 months, I will surely be able to keep all my teeth for a long time. She also asked me not to skip my half yearly clean up appointments. I will make sure I dont. I am glad I found Dr Andrawess and his team of dentists. Two years back, another dentist I visited before going to Dr Andrawess, had suggested more tooth extractions and said it was very unlikely that I would be able to keep all my teeth. I am super happy to know he was wrong. After the great experience with Dr Andrawess, I trust him and his team and would highly recommend him. read more

Dr Andrawess is not only a terrific dentist who works quickly and efficiently, he is extremely knowledgeable and genuinely cares for his patients. He is always VERY sensitive to not causing discomfort or pain when cleaning or operating and augments it with a precise and steady pair of hands. He won't try to sell you a bunch of expensive solutions, but will instead teach you how to brush and floss properly. I hate going to the dentist (doesn't everyone?), and especially hate getting dental work done. Dr. Andrawess is a whole different story. He is seriously the kindest, friendliest, and most skilled dentist I've ever met. My husband and I both have been going to him for 2.5 years now and will continue to go to him exclusively. I specifically created a yelp account to write a review of Dr. Andrawess. Two weeks ago, I made my initial appointment with him based on the positive reviews others gave him here. Now that I have seen him myself and now that I have interacted with his staff, I felt compelled to share my thoughts (in case it helps someone else who might be looking for a dentist). In short, he is truly exceptional. I wish I had found him years ago. He is kind, caring, and thorough. I honestly did not think I would be so impressed by a dental practitioner. From the beginning, he and his staff (Lana and Kristina) went the extra mile to schedule an appointment for me. For years, I have been a bad patient -- putting off scheduling routine dental care. At the last minute, with my dental insurance about to expire, his office squeezed me in so that I could get the appointment covered before my insurance ran out. Once at the office, check in was a breeze. The forms were thorough but demonstrate the philosophy of the practice. Dentistry is about more than the tooth. Dental health is intricately connected to many aspects of medicine and Dr. Andrawess and his staff are genuinely concerned with overall patient well-being. The exam was thorough and all steps were explained in detail. He is clearly a skilled dentist who knows his craft. Unfortunately, it was immediately apparent that I needed an urgent root canal. Given both the acuity of the dental problem and the temporal limitations of my insurance, Dr. Andrawess, Lana, and Kristina literally stopped what they were doing and called around to the best Palo Alto endodontists until they found an excellent one able to see me that very day. Then, they communicated my history and immediately emailed my dental x-rays to that office. (Of note, as Dr. Andrawess did not perform the procedure himself, the significant time and resources he devoted to facilitating my care was reflective of his dedication and personal generosity.) In short, I cannot recommend Dr. Andrawess highly enough. If you had told me a few weeks back that I would create a Yelp account solely to write a lengthy review of a dentist, I would have laughed Yet, here I am doing just that. Simply put, he is far and away the most thorough and caring dentist I have ever met (and being in medicine myself, I have encountered many, many dental professionals). I cannot recommend this office. I had cleaning appointment last week at Dr. Andrawess office. This appointment does include annual x-ray. When I came over I was notified that x-ray machine is not working and they cannot make my x-ray. I agreed to have cleaning only. I do find it unprofessional that someone from the office didn't call me to notify me that x-ray machine is not working. If I would know this I would rather reschedule this appointment. I was re-scheduled for today to get x-ray as well as 2 fillings if x-ray will confirm I need them. Dr. Andrawess assured me last time that x-ray machine will be working for my next appointment. Nobody called me to notify that x-ray machine still was not fixed. I came to the office today and was told that x-ray machine is not fixed. I had to drive to dental office today, ask whether x-ray machine is working since they even didn't bother to tell this themselves, talk to receptionist and leave without any dental work and next scheduled appointment. I find such behavior highly unprofessional and disrespectful. I have never had such situation when I would come to the dentist office and dentist would tell me that something in his/her office is not working. It is devastating that I had to come 2 times in a row to find out that x-ray machine is not working. Receptionist said that if I need x-ray I need to reschedule appointment. She offered me 2 times that didn't work for me. She was not co-operative and considered that it is normal for patient to waste time by coming over to learn that x-ray machine is not working. Dentist did witness this conversation and didn't do anything to resolve this problem. It looks like this office doesn't know how to make phone call and tell patient that x-ray machine is not working. Or it may be they are not interested to have me as a patient for some reason. Now you need to decide whether you want to go to such dentist that doesn't respect patient and would waste your time by making you to come over to learn that some procedure like x-ray cannot be done at your scheduled appointment. read more

Was thrilled when I discovered he had also moved out to the west coast.
