So I decided to go back to iHop and give it another try. Good thing I did, because the service was actually worse than before. The server brought out our food cold and acted like it was my fault and didn't bother apologizing. She never came back to see if we were doing ok or needed anything else. How does this franchise keep dropping the ball like this? I addressed the lack of any type of service at the end and there was no apology or anything. It sucks because there aren't a lot of diners in the area like in the past. I have been to this location 3 or 4 times. Never had a bad experience. I will say, I've been to many ihops in my day and am surprised, despite how large this place is, that the business just doesn't seem to be there. I'm shocked. Delicious, juicy, flavorful. Lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles, avocado, fried hashbrowns, ranch and some other sauce I wasn't familiar with. Bacon comes on the burger but I requested not to have it. I chose fries as my side but the options are plentiful. Onion rings, pancakes, fresh fruit or salad are the other options. Naturally I went with the fries, which were seasoned well and tasted like any good quality fry. The dreamy lemonade is not to be missed. Visually, it's beautiful. It looks like it would give you cavities by simply looking at it but not as sweet as you'd think. The drink comes adorned with cotton candy. The lemonade, which is supposed to be prickly pear flavored reminded me of a much more, high end, pleasant tasting Tang. Regardless, a definite try in my opinion. Service was great. Not as quick as I'd think it'd be considering there may have been 2 or 3 other tables dining in but our server was great and attentive. Great experience - the service is great here. The staff does their best to maintain all the tables, it gets really busy on the weekends . I tried the new sweet and savory scrambled egg/bacon/cheese. I used to go to another location but that location close dawn. I was so sad because that location has a parking lot. This location is street parking and super hard to find parking. The service is just ok, not too impressed and my waitress forgot my order. The place is pretty busy but lack of organized. Waffle with buffalo wing is too oily and very salty. This is my local go to takeout spot. It's IHOP. I've never sat down and ate at this location. Always been takeout. Large take out orders mostly. Upon entering, you're always greeted by polite welcoming staff members. They all look like hard workers as the establishment is unkept. The food is always hot and fresh. Sometimes the orders are messed up and missing items. But overall a pleasant experience. Will continue to patronize this establishment for breakfast. read more

I have missed IHOP. So happy one opened in my community. It's a really cute well put together place. The food was great. I had pancakes eggs turkey bacon. No complaints from me. The issue is that for it to be open and only five tables filled with customers at 8:00am in the morning service should not have been that slow. Food was great, service was with a smile, coffee was good as I am not a coffee drinker. My husband was also satisfied with his meal. Will I return yes indeed. I mean, it's an IHOP. I think the food was decent, I didn't go for the traditional breakfast foods but really wanted some chicken. The two sides I got were both mashed potatoes. They forgot to bring out the gravy with it which I thought was included. The garlic bread was probably the best part of my plate, the chicken wasn't super crispy. The service was slower than expected even though we got seated immediately, which I'm not sure if they were understaffed as other customers were seen flagging servers down for checks. I have given this location more chances than an insecure stripper in an abusive relationship with a toxic, gaslighting ex. Located on the previous site of California Farmer's Market on 31st in Astoria, my cousin invited me to the newly open IHOP for breakfast. Upon arrival, it wasn't so busy but got crowded by the time we left and vaccine card is required for indoor dining. The establishment has an open space concept and everything looked new and clean. We ordered the Original buttermilk pancakes - full stack and a size order of Turkey bacon. The full stack could be shared unless one's hungry as it was so big. This place is pretty new to Astoria and I'm surprised they didn't have a bigger grand opening? I didn't even realize the place was open because the windows were so dim. I was seated by the windows and so many people kept peeking their heads in not realizing we were eating right there. I recommend asking for a table in the back. The place itself is big and spacious. The tables were already sticky tho and the bathrooms weren't the cleanest. The food was also kind of bad. Hash browns were pretty gross and not cooked through. Eggs were good. I ordered the SPICY POBLANO FAJITA which was just scrambled eggs and peppers. I don't remember tasting any cheese. Their definitely wasn't any avocado or queso sauce. Our waiter, although nice, was very insistent that it didn't come with a side even though the physical and online menu said it did. We ended up getting fries as our side which needed a lot of salt. Normally, I never go to franchises, particularly an IHOP (International House of Pancakes). The few I visited, especially in Harlem, were dirty and disgusting. The IHOP in Astoria was a different experience altogether. Because Family Corner was not open on a Saturday, I needed to find another breakfast spot or at least a large restaurant. With some trepidation, I ventured into IHOP on Ditmars. As I opened the door, what was I going to expect? Well. I found a large, very clean dining area. Most of the tables were packed, and some diners waiting for tables. A great start to mid-morning. I was assigned a small table for two up front. Next, you notice the tremendous teamwork and comrade between the staff. As I sat at my table waiting for my order, I watched just every employee cover for each other. Unlike many other fast food establishments where you see the employees going through their routines, this was very different. There was a smile, and the body language indicated that from the manager down, teamwork was excellent. Food Now, what to choose? Their menu had so many options, pancakes, traditional breakfast scrambled eggs, etc., that it took me some time to make my mind up. In the end, for $20+, I ordered the split double breakfast; buttermilk pancakes and French toast. Two scrambled eggs with bacon and cheese, With different types of syrup, the meal was delicious and one of the best breakfasts in quite a while. I will be back! read more

IHOP, you cannot charge Manhattan steakhouse prices in Queens. Pancakes and eggs for two people should not result in a $50 bill. You are in Astoria, a place renowned for it's food, which also happens to offer similar food for half the price and tastes (at least) twice as good as what you're serving up. Now, IHOP as a concept, in particular pancakes, I can run with, but pancakes, eggs, and meat should only be about $7.99. show me that price and you'll see a full restaurant. Highly recommended that you know what you want prior to sitting down. Breakfast took half an hour to come out, this was much better than the well over an hour it took, when I went in September. Check your cups, we had to send some dirty ones back. Service was great by our server. She was polite and attentive... when she was there. Just a reminder, your job isn't done once the food comes out. One of my pet peeves is looking for your server when your glass is empty, and you still have food in your plate. Been to this location few times. Place is clean, staff were friendly and food is ok. Yesterday, we went around 10am. The men's bathroom was out of order, so they decided to use the women's bathroom as all gender and put a sign outside the door. The bathroom has 3 stalls inside. So men, women, and children can use the same bathroom all at the same time. Is this a new Ihop practice? I've gone to other restaurants where they have all gender signs at the door but they're single bathroom where one can have full privacy. This review is not for the service or their food. read more

This is the most disgusting ihop I have ever been to. When I say disgusting I mean the cleanliness of the restaurant. There is dirt all over the floor. Dirty tables that were not cleaned for my entire hour at the restaurant. It makes you wonder what the kitchen looks like or how they past health inspections. We waiting 15 minutes for a table with literally 9 available tables scattered the manager was seating guests she really needs to be retrained. The food here is terrible and overpriced. When we arrived we had dirty silverware. I then got an iced tea that tasted really funky. When I told the waitress she said she reported the same thing to the manager but the manager did nothing. Then the food came. The hash browns were burnt, flat, and had no flavor. The turkey sausage tasted straight out of the freezer. The servings were measly. We would have paid almost $40 for two people for a meal we would have hated. So we let the manager know and we left.
