    Wonka's perfectly purple pancakes
    Jen N.

I have been to this location 3 or 4 times. Never had a bad experience. I will say, I've been to many ihops in my day and am surprised, despite how large this place is, that the business just doesn't seem to be there. I'm shocked. My experience with IHOP is that they're always packed and there was always a wait. I really hope this location lasts due to lack of business. My daughter and I came for the Wonka promo. If we are being honest, I wasn't too thrilled about feeding her what looked like purple goop but I suppose once a year, purple food is okay? Lol. 4 buttermilk pancakes with cheesecake mousse and purple cream cheese icing. Despite the look and the description, it wasnt overly sweet. Just the right amount of sweetness. A heavy dish. She got a full stack but I think the short stack would suffice anyones appetite. I got the Wonka burger, which for IHOP I was seriously impressed. This burger was pretty epic. Delicious, juicy, flavorful. Lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles, avocado, fried hashbrowns, ranch and some other sauce I wasn't familiar with. Bacon comes on the burger but I requested not to have it. I chose fries as my side but the options are plentiful. Onion rings, pancakes, fresh fruit or salad are the other options. Naturally I went with the fries, which were seasoned well and tasted like any good quality fry. The dreamy lemonade is not to be missed. Visually, it's beautiful. It looks like it would give you cavities by simply looking at it but not as sweet as you'd think. The drink comes adorned with cotton candy. The lemonade, which is supposed to be prickly pear flavored reminded me of a much more, high end, pleasant tasting Tang. Regardless, a definite try in my opinion. Service was great. Not as quick as I'd think it'd be considering there may have been 2 or 3 other tables dining in but our server was great and attentive. If you like burgers, I really do highly suggest this promo while it lasts. Super impressed with that burger. Cash, credit accepted. You can pay through their app, as well!

Great experience - the service is great here. The staff does their best to maintain all the tables, it gets really busy on the weekends . I tried the new sweet and savory scrambled egg/bacon/cheese. Delish ! Parking isn't always the best of you drive here but the further down the block you go , it's easier to find parking.

Well lit, clean, welcoming establishment. Ample parking (street/meters). Our server was very helpful and patient. The lady who seemed to be the store manager was also very nice and friendly. I was in the mood for a western omelette. Ordered the Colorado (which is the closest to a "western"). It was OK. A bit on the dry side. The pancakes were good and very filling (according to my kids). The hash browns... very tasty... my kids inhaled my order of them. I personally liked the French toast best! Wasn't too thrilled about their coffee Overall, a nice midweek outing with the family.

I used to go to another location but that location close dawn. I was so sad because that location has a parking lot. This location is street parking and super hard to find parking. The service is just ok, not too impressed and my waitress forgot my order. The place is pretty busy but lack of organized. Waffle with buffalo wing is too oily and very salty. Poached egg is good and has many options to choose. Good thing of IHOP is the verities of food and big space that can host a big party. I wish the location have parking lot; it will be more convenient.

This IHOP was nice but it's just like any other ihop when it comes to food and service.

I have missed IHOP. So happy one opened in my community. It's a really cute well put together place. The food was great. I had pancakes eggs turkey bacon. No complaints from me. The issue is that for it to be open and only five tables filled with customers at 8:00am in the morning service should not have been that slow. Food was great, service was with a smile, coffee was good as I am not a coffee drinker. My husband was also satisfied with his meal. Will I return yes indeed. They are new and are probably still ironing out the kinks.

I mean, it's an IHOP. I think the food was decent, I didn't go for the traditional breakfast foods but really wanted some chicken. The two sides I got were both mashed potatoes. They forgot to bring out the gravy with it which I thought was included. The garlic bread was probably the best part of my plate, the chicken wasn't super crispy. The service was slower than expected even though we got seated immediately, which I'm not sure if they were understaffed as other customers were seen flagging servers down for checks. My refill on my soda was minimal given the lack of service.

Wanted better pancakes than the last ones I cooked, didn't disappoint. The trick is that the butter's gotta soak into the pancake. Also eggs and bacon help!

I was really when I heard that an iHop opened in Astoria! I was expecting convenient and great pancakes but was pretty disappointed by the location! The service was extremely slow even though we came during off peak hours and not many people were there. They also messed up my order - which I ended up deciding was not worth correcting becuase they never came in to check in on us! The food also felt way different than my past ihop experiences. I left feeling pretty gross and unsatisfied

Original Buttermilk Pancakes - Full Stack
    Eloy Y.

Located on the previous site of California Farmer's Market on 31st in Astoria, my cousin invited me to the newly open IHOP for breakfast. Upon arrival, it wasn't so busy but got crowded by the time we left and vaccine card is required for indoor dining. The establishment has an open space concept and everything looked new and clean. We ordered the Original buttermilk pancakes - full stack and a size order of Turkey bacon. The full stack could be shared unless one's hungry as it was so big. The taste is okay as there's nothing to write home. The only problem it took some time to get the check. If you are in the area, stop by and give this place a try.

This place is pretty new to Astoria and I'm surprised they didn't have a bigger grand opening? I didn't even realize the place was open because the windows were so dim. I was seated by the windows and so many people kept peeking their heads in not realizing we were eating right there. I recommend asking for a table in the back. The place itself is big and spacious. The tables were already sticky tho and the bathrooms weren't the cleanest. The food was also kind of bad. Hash browns were pretty gross and not cooked through. Eggs were good. I ordered the SPICY POBLANO FAJITA which was just scrambled eggs and peppers. I don't remember tasting any cheese. Their definitely wasn't any avocado or queso sauce. Our waiter, although nice, was very insistent that it didn't come with a side even though the physical and online menu said it did. We ended up getting fries as our side which needed a lot of salt. I would just pass on the food. The pancakes however, were delicious! We tried the tres leches and immediately ordered chocolate chip pancakes. They were all fluffy and buttery and not too sweet. So go for the pancakes and just the pancakes!

    This isn't a Cinn-a-stack pancakes.

The mafadine pasta was a good pick adorned with springy components like pea leaves and a compelling Parmesan vibe. Maybe I like vegetables more than I thought? The steelhead carpaccio special was a stunner. Based on my 1.5 bites of monkfish I'd also endorse that. This may be more of a "DVD extra" but when I originally looked up the QB many of the top-ranked items were breakfasts and some were p-zza (reverse SEO). Based only on lower-left menu placement I would say don't go that route and that specials are a good bet. Again this is only based on 1.5 bites but the eggplant parm special had great sauce. I'm undecided on the watermelon granita which wasn't all that watermelony but spicy dessert was different. I was surprised by how much I liked the edamame, since you can get that everywhere, but the Japanese 7-spice add an intriguing citrus kick.

My husband chose The Queensboro to celebrate his birthday with a brunch alongside my grandparents,…read moreand it felt like a great chance to revisit a spot we'd previously enjoyed for lunch and dinner. Food: 3.5/5 We made it a point to try a range of brunch options. My grandfather ordered the sweet potato and chorizo hash, I went with the two-egg combo with pork sausage (eggs over easy), and my husband chose the Moroccan eggs. Overall, the food was good and flavorful, especially if you enjoy dishes with a bit more nuance and influence from Spanish or Mexican flavors. That said, as someone who leans more toward classic American diner-style brunch, it didn't fully hit that nostalgic spot for me. It's not that anything was bad--it just wasn't the most memorable brunch I've had. Still, it was nice to explore a different side of their menu beyond the burgers, fries, and pasta we'd tried before. Service: 4/5 The staff were genuinely kind and welcoming, which made the experience pleasant. However, they do rely on a QR code-style menu, which can be a bit of a learning curve--especially for those who prefer a more traditional ordering experience. During the brunch rush, things definitely got busy and a bit overwhelmed, so service slowed down slightly. One tip: if you already know what you want, it's best to order everything upfront to avoid delays. Vibe: 3.5/5 Like many New York spots, space is tight. Even as a party of four, we were seated at a small square table, which could be challenging if you have strollers or extra belongings. That said, the space still feels cozy and neighborhood-friendly--great for a casual brunch, just not the most spacious. All in all, It's a solid neighborhood brunch spot with interesting, flavor-forward dishes and kind service. I wouldn't call it my top brunch destination, but I'd come back if I were in the area--especially if I was craving something a little different from the usual diner fare.
