I usually eat at the IHOP located in Hicksville but for some reason it closed and I would like to know why?? So we decided to take a ride ended up at the bayshore location. this IHOP is huge and very well maintained. the place was very busy but the wait time was like 15 minutes. Once seated waitress came over within minutes and took our order and was served in a timely fashion. we were in and out un under 1;30. best of all it was all good, but what makes this location stand out from all the other IHOPs, they have their act together and customer service was great!! Came here on a Sunday afternoon... guess we hit the church crowd. The place was packed. We didn't have to wait too long for a table, or for the server to great us, which was positive. What wasn't positive was our server's attitude. Her eyes rolled more times than I could count, and she had a few snide remarks thrown in to her pitch. She was fairly efficient. The food took forever, but that obviously wasn't her fault. The new Whole Wheat Blueberry Nut Pankcakes were really delicious. They're from the "healthy" selection, so are lower in calories, but they actually were very enjoyable. The Garden Crepes, although tasting delicious were over 1100 calories, so I mean really... unless you're planning on being a complete fatass, they're really not worth it. It's both a blessing and a curse that the calories are listed for every single food item on this menu. This IHOP is attached to the mall, but can be accessed from the parking lot. Horrible experience! It has been the very first time I have something bad to say about this Ihop. I decided to go with my son and the service was not what I had expected! I had to ask one of the other waiters if she could assist me she said she would call the waiter for our table. The gentleman did not even acknowledge the fact that we had been waiting for a while. Half hour later he comes in with my wrong order. Once again did not apologize for his mistake. I had to wait even longer for my correct order. The gentleman did not even bring the ketchup or the syrup. I had to get them myself from a different table. I haven't been to IHOP very often, and I remember when it was known by it full name - the "International House of Pancakes," it's marketed as today. Just the same, I have enjoyed several of their menu items over time. Tale of the tape: Ultimate Steakburger - The Classic: I wanted to try one of these ever since the frankly strange push-back IHOP got when marketing their new line of burgers. I took advantage of their National Cheeseburger Day promotion and picked up their Classic Steakburger. The Classic includes American cheese, lettuce, tomato, red onion, pickles and their signature IHOP sauce. While the IHOP sauce was somewhat lacking, in a word this burger was good. Real good. They most likely spent a lot of R&D time to get their burger line right, and it paid off. I got take out on the burger, and when I got it home I baked it for about 10-15 minutes at about 250 degrees (cause I like a toasted bun, cause, well . . .toasted bun . . . !). Even after all that, when I ate it the burger dripped, it was so juicy. A truly great burger offering at a good price to boot. Folks, give it a try, you won't be disappointed! Pumpkin Spice Pancakes: ordered these during the recent National Cheeseburger Day promo they ran recently. Oddly they had only two pancakes free with your burger, and you had a choice of either that or their regular buttermilk pancakes. Frankly I couldn't taste any pumpkin in them, but isn't that the case for almost any pumpkin fare that comes out every September? Also, the "spice" they ostensibly sprinkled on the pancakes, which coated the inside of the take out container, was tasteless (yes, I licked it to test it out . . .!) Belgian Dark Chocolate Mousse Pancakes: I haven't tried these yet, but oh boy are they callin' out my name! Forget the syrup, maybe have them with a little peanut butter I will . . . Cornbread pancakes: I know I got these way back, but it seems they are no longer on the menu. Too bad, cause they were definitely good. Eggnog and Red Velvet Pancakes: I recall these were a holiday offering several years ago. Both were excellent enough to merit them being either a mainstay or seasonal item every year. Conclusion: it's great that there is a diner-style restaurant that specializes in what has come to be known as "breakfast food." To me there is no such thing as so-called breakfast food - enjoy it whenever you want! As such, the International House of Panca. . . er, IHOP, is a good place to go for a good variety of such fare. read more

I know it's gross that I love this unhealthy chain so much, but their pancakes are just ON POINT. Always. And I can get breakfast for dinner, which to me, trumps breakfast for breakfast. It's cheap, and the turnover at this location is quick. They keep it cold in there, probably to discourage lounging, but that means you get seated and satiated much faster than the line would lead you to believe. They don't often mess up the orders here, it's pretty clean, and there's plenty of parking. Bonus points for fresh blueberries in the pancakes and fresh, not frozen, spinach usage. Nowhere to be found - not even hidden away on the back page. What could have been the best non breakfast food IHOP served is now just a memory. This morning I decided to order from IHOP for breakfast and so I did. My order pickup time was for 10:08 am. So I got there and it was pretty crowded. I told one of the hostess that I was picking up an online order and she asked me the name and then she went in the back to go get the order. And she said she couldn't find it so I looked at my order and realized I fave the wrong name. When I went to get her attention she was busy so I decided to get on the line where you can pay your bill. The woman at the cash register was help another person, she had her hair in a bun, piercings and petite . After she finished with the woman before me so asked me if she could help me and so I told her was there to pick up an order. She gave me an attitude and then went in the back to find my order. She barely handed me the bag I had to catch it with my hands. When I got home to eat my food, the plating of the food was not appetizing and I was disappointed with the results. Went with a big group and was treated amazing. We were all paying separately and our waitress helped us out a lot. I'm from out of town but whenever I come back I will come again. Yes it's a little overpriced but the quality and amount is great. Didn't like that we had to wait to be seated until everyone came but I did understand. I ordered my food on line directly through the restaurant. Pick up time was 10:57. I called at that time to alert them that I'm outside. I was told the food is not ready I should call back in 10 minutes. I called back 10 minutes later I was told to call back in 10 mins. After 30 additional mins of waiting I asked to speak to the manager to a refund. He stated that they are extremely busy so I needed to wait until they close at 3 for them to refund the money. The next day the money was still not refunded to my account. I called back and spoke to another manger who processed the refund immediately. Their Curbside pickup obviously needs improvement. I can't believe I willingly went to a chain. I have to say though it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Yes it was sticky, and yes the staff wasn't all that great, but the food tasted fresh. I got the strawberry and banana French Toast. Fluffy and cooked perfectly. Came with 4 full pieces. My fiancé got the standard breakfast sampler and he said it wasn't bad but wasn't excellent. This place was packed but we were seated right away and our food came out fast. We weren't given a "promotion" menu however which included the double dipped French toast that I had to ask about because the photo on the window looked so good. After dropping our food off our waitress never checked on us. Prices average $9.99. Every table has blueberry, strawberry, butter pecan, and old fashioned syrups. Sticky but expected. Disappointing experience. Though we were seated immediately and the service fairly quick with the food, we were served without silverware and then had to wait another 5 minutes until we got the waiters attention again. The restaurant was noisy and crowded. The inside of the restaurant was not very attractive and seemed chaotic. There was a lack of private between booths and not dividers that would have given patrons privacy during a meal. As a result, we heard every conversation between those around us and couldn't wait to leave. This location of Ihop needs help by management and owners. read more

Act one...We walk in to a half full establishment and no one there to seat us. Approx 3 minutes of standing there and about 2 wait staff walking pass us some one yells "Yo, some one up there" really not a just a moment and getting the hostess just straight "Yo" Act two...when placing our order my boyfriend points directly to the picture and says I want to try this(pointing to the cold brew coffee milkshake) our waitress states ok a vanilla milkshake. We both say no the coffee one in which she replies again vanilla‍‍ no coffee! She leaves comes back with my coffee and a vanilla milkshake. We tell her he wanted the coffee one and she says oh I thought you said vanilla....really we stated coffee 3 times. Act 3...the food comes and my plate is completely ice cold and our waitress is no where to be found. Eating just my hash browns which was the only lukewarm editable portion of my meal, she finally shows up after I place everything on top of my plate. I ask for the check, pay and leave. At this point I am completely aggravated and the hostess saw that I was and made no attempt to step in and see if things were ok. It's sad that the bus boy was more polite and considerate then the waitstaff themselves. Next time I will drive the extra 10 minutes to the west Babylon IHOP they have yet to disappoint. read more

Do not eat here...this place is gross. Last time I ate at this location-had to be 12 years ago.Just went for breakfast this morning, but immediately walk out and spent my money at panera. I asked the waitress for a both . She sits bring me to the dirtiest table and immediately walks away back to her station. I walk over and let her know it's filthy. I'm a fan. This location is large, open airy and clean. The employees are friendly and very accomodating. This is one of the few IHOPs that can handle large groups. After you eat your cheap and starchy brunch, you can walk it off at the Westfield Mall which it's attached to. read more

I find it so strange how I could have such a drastically different experience at Ihop depending on the location. Me and my significant other go to an ihop once every other week before we go to work and we decided to try this location because it was a bit closer to work. It was awful, once we were seated and ordered our drinks, It took an insane amount of time to receive our drinks by the time our waitress got them to our table, we were ready to order and when I told her that we were ready, she said "hold up" and walked away to go talk to another staff member. She proceeded to SIT DOWN at a table in the back and chat with that staff member for no less then 7 solid minutes. Maybe it was her last day working there or maybe she was just an awful waitress but after staring at her laughing with her co-worker for 7 minutes while i was starving and just wanted to eat, me and my partner did something i've NEVER done we got up and left and drove all the way to the next breakfast place we could find. Maybe other staff members aren't so bad, maybe she's no longer working there but I can't bring myself to ever return to this location. I was livid. read more

The amount of effort shown in that store has been awful. I've seen places with better service than this IHOP and makes me disappointed that this is allowed. The Woman server Named Ann has been staring and passing through our table numerous times and made us wait for our food and seemed like she had an attitude with us and to me that was disrespectful and discriminating. She gave us the soda and eventually the food. The soda barely had any flavor and just tasted like it was just water from the ice instead of more soda. Then The food was worst, I got my Ham and Egg sandwich and the cheese was not even hot but was cold and not melted with a lot of egg in which the other ihop I went to didn't have a problem.The awful server Ann came back to charge us twice for a meal that we only received one of. She gives me and my family members an attitude and walks away to "solve" the issue. Worst IHOP location I have ever visited. Now, I have NEVER written a Yelp review, which I really should because we have a lot of positive experiences at other restaurants. I just had to sign up for Yelp this time because this is the 5th, yes 5th time in a row that we have had an absolutely horrible experience at an IHOP. The wait staff is rude, slow, and inattentive. The food is more times than not completely incorrect. Even the first approach when you arrive just to take a drink order takes an excessively long time. I have never had any of these issues at the other locations, this one is just horrendous. We finally found another one that is a bit out of our way and smaller, but the service is worlds better. Will never return to Bay Shore if I can help it. The manager of the Bay Shore location would do himself a favor if he would eliminate most of his current staff and screen potential employees better. Then again, the way I heard one of his wait staff speaking to him while we were there yesterday says it all. They run the show, not him. Do yourself a favor, find another location and stay out of this disaster of a restaurant. read more
