I ordered a to go (curbside pickup to be precise ) on a Sunday morning. This place was almost at 75% of its capacity. Even though it's a curbside pickup I couldn't find any sign so I decided to go inside. I believe if you call them, they will bring it to your car. Front desk person was able to get my order within a few minutes. I ordered the original buttermilk pancakes full stack. It came with the syrup and original butter. The pancakes are delicious and I'm surprised they are holding the heat for roughly 45 minutes. I don't have to warm it up before eating. One pan cake is more than enough for an adult. I decided to get some breakfast. I was seated right away. Taken to a booth in the corner. It was so small I couldn't sit comfortably. I asked for another place to eat. The table where I was sat was much better. The server was polite but not friendly. He was soft-spoken and not easily understood. He was slow and didn't check on the table. The menu was sticky. I believe it was syrup. I was shocked that I was given an unclean menu. The waffles were decent. The chicken was overcooked and had not seasoned. I don't believe I will eat here again. There was a girl working. She had on a mask. She was sneazing. I ended up sick after leaving. I won't say it was from there because I don't have any proof. Had breakfast here with Hubby recently. I ordered a stack of pancakes - they were light and fluffy and the butter is soft and fluffy too. Hubby ordered the split decision and we shared the french toast and bacon. This was the first time I had french toast here and it was better than I expected. The menu is huge and they always have a good special (it rotates frequently) that is a bit more of a bargain deal without losing flavor or portion size. Hubby loves the bottomless cup of coffee and that they leave the pot on the table for a quick refill. The place was packed (almost always is) but we were seated with only a short wait. The server was very busy but did his best to stay on top of helping us. There was an issue with the credit card machines going down and I could tell it had servers stressed. One of the cleanest IHOPS Ive ever been to. Great service ,and all the staff was very friendly and on point from the moment we walked in till the moment we left. Kudos for the cooks, we went on Sunday morning on 2-19-23 after church and the food came out very fast even though they had a lot of people there. In town visiting and was starving. Came to this IHOP. Angela E. was our waitress and she was amazing. She checked in on us several times, refilled our drinks immediately. She had a great personality and very attentive. She was a pleasure to speak to. I am very picky about my coffee and dont like it very strong so she actually offered to give me hot water and coffee so I could make it exactly the way I preferred. We used to go here maybe every other week and grab 2 senior breakfasts on the way to work. With every new menu prices kept creeping up. Stopped today and another new menu. Senior 2+2=2 is now $ 9.50 and the Senior rise and Shine about the same. 2 very ordinary breakfast with 1 coffee and tax and tip was close to $ 30.00. The food does not merit that price. There are plenty of places to enjoy a lazy Saturday or Sunday breakfast, but Ihop is a traditional American favorite. It's usually consistent no matter which location. The breakfast is good and always plentiful. I enjoy the omelets and pancake meals. I also order the double blueberry pancake meal that comes with eggs, hash browns and either sausage or bacon. While the food was of decent quality (nothing out of the ordinary to be expected from a chain short-order restaurant), the reason I rated this so highly is due to the staff. My pregnant fiancé and I came into St. Louis to pick her car up after she moved back from England. After spending an inordinate amount of time getting her car, she was way behind her eating schedule. Additionally we had our small dog with us, and I, having recently had two molars pulled (and healing very poorly), was capable of eating soft foods only. We inquired about bringing our dog in since we didn't want to leave him in the hot car, and even though they said they couldn't, they immediately huddled around and began making us drinks, taking our orders, offering some food and water for our dog, and even fixing me a bag of ice to put on my swollen jaw. They also located a nearby park for us to eat with our dog outside and gave me extra helpings of soft foods (grits, oatmeal, and yogurt) for us to take to go. I never expected such kindness and good service from anyone at an IHOP in my life, and I was entirely grateful. This is my husbands favorite place for breakfast. Brought him here for his birthday breakfast and the hostess brought us to our seat and put the menus onto the table and just walked away. The waiter was nice but didn't seem all there with his mind. I asked for a water and he responded if I wanted cream with that or just black. I responded to him telling him I had ordered just water. I always try to give businesses the chance to stand out positively, but my experience this day (my first at this particular IHOP) stood out negatively. Christmas Day 2014, business was brisk but not slammed and they appeared to be well-staffed. Our group was two adults. We were seated relatively promptly, but they separated a table for us off another pair's spot, rather than seat us at one of the many empty booths. After approximately 20 minutes with just water on our table, we began looking around to see if others had food. One group of 2 vacated without eating. Another group of 2 (the original owners of our table that got split) told us they had been waiting for an hour. Eventually that couple got *half* their food, and not long afterward our table was served *most* of ours. The noise from the kitchen was loud, and the comments were disturbing, such as telling our server he had to pay for the food that the vacating group had abandoned during the wait. We also heard "no more free food, anybody else wants food they're going to pay for it." We did get comped 20% on our food, and I will hand it to our server that he did try and was very apologetic. It is astonishing to me that no manager ever hit the dining room to check on patrons and apologize for the kitchen debacle. During times of high stress and screw-ups, a manager giving the appearance of caring makes a huge difference. On the food, I wasn't impressed. My sandwich -- spinach and white cheddar griddle, I believe -- was tasty enough but lukewarm. By the 2nd half, it was dripping grease all over my plate. I didn't even finish my hash browns, which were hot but gritty and undercooked. My companion liked his food, but commented that it smelled like his omelette had touched fish. I am willing to give this IHOP another shot in the future and update, but this visit was unsatisfactory. There are other IHOPs (and plenty of other restaurant chains) in the area to choose from, so I hope this one gets their act together. read more

I have been coming to this Ihop for 6 years on at least a bi weekly basis. The service has gone in the gutter in the last 2 years. Specifically in the last 6 months. Over the last month i have ordered 6 times. 4 of which my order was wrong. I was told last time, when i finally complained, that my next order would be free. If I could give this zero stars I would. First off, there was a massive wait, but that isn't that big an issue considering that happens a lot at restaurants. The problem with the wait was that people kept cutting the line to get there name down, and even after I said something to the hostess she said "oh well sorry there's nothing I can do about it." Shortly after that, the hostess began yelling for a Juan to come and get his table, and looked at me, someone who is Hispanic and started speaking broken English saying something among the lines of "Juan you're table is ready." Implying that I'm Juan and I only spoke Spanish due to the fact I'm Mexican. And too top it off, the same Hostess started talking to a Hispanic coworker in the same manner. It's hard to go wrong with IHOP. The food was decent and an anonymous customer paid for my meal. The server was polite but the overall experience was very bizarre. After my daughter and I were seated the waitress comes over to take our drink order. She whispers, "the credit card machine is down right now so you'll need to pay in cash." I explain, I dont carry cash so we will just go to another restaurant. The waitress then replies, "well it may be back up soon but if you pay cash I won't charge you for the drinks." I reiterated, I don't carry cash... She said there a Schnucks next door they have an ATM or cash back. We looked around the restaurant on both side almost everyone was paying with a credit card, so we went ahead and our order. I asked another patron if they had been informed that the credit card machine was down, they responded "no."I could not help but feel like this was some kind of scam. However, I think the couple behind us heard what was going on and the gentleman paid for our meal. All he said as he walked out was, "I took care of it." When the waitress returned to our table with our check I informed her that it had already been paid. She left to confirm and was visibly unsettled when she returned. I ask what the issue was and she said, "yeah they paid for the meal but didn't leave a tip." So I have her a 15% tip and ask that she "do better." Best ihop experience I've had even in difficult times I recommend people to come here for good food and service

I had breakfast here this morning because I was craving some pumpkin pancakes. I also ordered a fruit cup and coffee. My server was very attentive and friendly but I wish I had asked how large the pancakes were so I could have ordered more than two. The fruit was disappointing because the grapes were mushy, not fresh. But the pineapple was tasty. And the coffee was delicious. I especially like having a carafe on the table. I had the crappiest service here today. You couldn't literally tell my server was on drugs. I got French toast with bananas and strawberries on them and it was very overpowering so I only ate one piece then my server says "well you should of told me earlier" like I did something wrong, she still didn't take it off my bill but whatever? Not the best breakfast food I've had but it was okay. They need to work on their decor though. The restaurant as a whole wasn't that clean, the sitting had holes in the cushion, and tables were dirty even though they were suppose to have just been clean by a waiter. Our waitress was hovering when it was time to pay our bill as if to insist we tip him or something. Just not a good experience all around. Also we seated in a very crowded section of the restaurant while there was seating in other areas that wasn't as crowded. We were visiting from out of town and decided to come here when other places had too long a wait. We showed up at 8:00pm on a Friday night. Some places have a bad attitude when you show up with a big group and a lot of kids. But they were friendly and seated us right away. Service was prompt. They offered to bring us all waters before they had even taken drink orders. The food arrived quickly, everyone's order was right, and it was all hot! With a group of 22 that's impressive.
