Three and a half stars is a pretty solid rating for this place. I had a decent and filling breakfast but it set me back $30 for just me after tip. My pancakes were ok but were missing something. Maybe the griddle needed to be a little hotter or they needed a little more time and they'd have been really good potentially. My server Jerry was very good and the staff all helped each other out. I don't like writing negative reviews much however I needed to express first impressions of trying breakfast here for the first time. I ordered breakfast to go: smashed avocado Benedict with hash browns and buttermilk pancakes. I am a Benedict afficionado. And when the menu and picture describes fluffy green avocado over a toasted muffin and everything seasoning you expect that. What I received was a non-seasoned, browned avocado sludge over an untoasted muffin slathered with hollandaise leaving what should be a crispy vessel a soggy mess. I can accept a little brown in avocado, they oxidize, it's expected. But to have the whole thing brown is unappealing and unappealing. My recommendation is to monitor this and when someone ordered Benedict to go, put the hollandaise in a separate container and allow your diner to put it on themselves. I was also surprised the pancakes did not come with syrup, in the event I was going elsewhere other than home. I had also ordered the vanilla cold brew which is advertised to have vanilla cold foam. When I asked about it, the servers added more vanilla sweet cream. Milk foam is frothy and sits in top. Putting more sweet cream made this bittingly sweet. read more

Let's start with their homemade muffins which are always fantastic! Yesterday I was torn between an Oreo muffin and the red, white and blue which is the one I ultimately chose! A white chocolate muffin filled with a delicious berry compote! Moist and delicious. I'll go back just for that! My husband and i both opted for omelets yesterday. I opted for the egg white veggie omelet which was loaded with Swiss Cheese! Then there was the fruit! A side of fruit can be hit or miss but this fruit cup was spectacular! I had the best cantaloupe of the season so far! We're from out of town or this would be our weekend spot for brunch. We both had amazing various plays on the classic Eggs Beneath she had a California inspired with avocado, cherry tomatoes I had a spin on a classic florentine with cheery tomato's and fetta. So slow! We came in after the lunch rush and ordered simple things -- pancakes, hash browns, eggs -- and it took almost an hour to get our food! Some other people just got up and left because they'd been waiting so long. We probably should have done the same. The food was absolutely not worth waiting for. There's absolutely no reason there should be an hour wait. When we finally received our food they had made multiple mistakes with our order. Here's a list of what was wrong when we finally received our food: My daughter did not get the scrambled egg whites she ordered .... we had to wait for those again I had ordered scrambled eggs on my hash browns and received really runny sunny side up eggs instead. Yuck. (Didn't send it back because I'd run out of patience) We requested another milk for my youngest daughter, our server said she'd get it, but she never returned. My wife had the daily special which was a waffle with two eggs and a choice of one meat. She got the ham steak, and it looked very good. Her scrambled eggs were cooked perfectly, and the waffle was crisp and light and very good. I am a big fan of corn beef hash, and often make that my breakfast of choice when traveling. I decided to give theirs a try since the menu said it was house made. It was without a doubt one of the best corn beef hash breakfasts I've had. There was a perfect mix of the shredded corn beef and their house potatoes/hash browns and the mixture is cooked beautifully on the flat top with the potatoes being crisped up and adding great texture to the meal. The corned beef, was fresh and briney and really delicious. First time at this cafe. Arrived and added our name to a wait list. No problem. Within about 20 minutes, we received a text that our table (for 2) was ready - great!! We were seated and our waitress greeted us within a few minutes. She was very nice and personable. We ordered an omelette with sausage and cheese and their special of "loaded hash browns" to eat, 2 waters and one cup of coffee. We waited....OVER AN OUR (only counting once we placed the order) for our food. 67 minutes to be exact. Horrible. Meanwhile, during that hour, we had to flag down the waitress for our refills of two cups of water and a single coffee. Horrible. After the food came out (did I mean over an hour later) the loaded hash browns, that was supposed to come with toast, came with one slice of toast. Cut in half. Whaaaaat? Food was good. Not bad at all. But ridiculously slow and no one really recognized the extensive wait other than a "sorry" when the food was dropped by someone other than the waitress. Not sure if we will be back. Up from Texas, and I wanted to find a sit-down spot for breakfast. I've always had a thing for greasy-spoon cafes, and thought this would be one. But appearances were deceiving! It gives off "greasy-spoon," but the food is really damn delicious and quality. It's like they took the Waffle House menu and made it 10x better. I was really impressed. Good food, nice atmosphere. I sit at the counter to avoid the wait at the door. Here's the problem. There's a lot of gathering at the register and slow moving wait staff - customer faces show it all. Very frustrating to see when so many people are waiting to be acknowledged at the door, register, counter, tables. I have learned to speak up and snag any server I can do I get the service I want when I am dropping coin on breakfast and lunch. I love this place, has a small town diner type of feel, super nice wait staff, including the manager and everyone that I've spoken with from the kitchen. It's so nice to go into a business and see all the staff hustling around focused on getting everyone taken care of.
