I waited about 40 min to get my food and my kids never got there refills I heard singing in the back and they were playing song with bad words in it while there were kids here they got strawberry syrup on my sons tenders and he is allergic they didn't cook my pancakes right and they didn't come with no utensils, and I had a walk to the back to get it on my own. The wait for our food (pancakes and eggs) to be served was unacceptable (about an hour). When the food did arrive it was room temp to slightly cool. Our server never asked if we wanted more to drink and our order was botched. We could hear others around us discussing that they too had their orders mixed up. We were about 3/4 of the way through our meal when a server came to take our plates apparently assuming we were finished. We felt rushed and let the plates go as the food was only mediocre at best. What a change since the reopening! The energy here is bright and new, and the service has improved by leaps and bounds. I came with my son at 8am on a Saturday. There were plenty of open tables and we were seated immediately. The hostess, Kaitlyn, was welcoming and had a wonderful smile. Our server, Irene, was just as friendly. She was attentive throughout the meal and checked in just the right amount. When she had a break, she politely introduced us to Candy, who would be checking in on us. The quality of the food was high for a chain restaurant. It's costs more here than Denny's, but the presentation and freshness make up for the added cost. The omelettes are $8+, but they're huge and good for sharing or boxing for later. Even my son's Rooty Jr. was served hot and fresh. We've been going to this IHOP for many, many years so we've seen many changes. Went yesterday and was surprised by two things. There is no longer any syrup on the table. Since they are known for their pancakes, this was really weird. My husband had pancakes with his breakfast and had to ask for syrup. When the waitress brought it out, it came in two little "cups" that amounted to about 1/2 oz each!! Good grief, guess we now have to bring our own syrup. Second, I ordered sour dough toast. What I received was two halves, not buttered, and obviously from two other slices of bread. One was soft, the other hard. Think maybe we will go somewhere else if we need breakfast again. read more

Honestly one of the worst experiences in dining I've ever had. Waited at the host stand for about 15 minutes before we were finally seated. Then had to wait another 10 before we even had someone take our drink orders. Then 45 minutes goes by and still no drinks. At this point we are thinking about walking out, but then another server comes over and says did you get your drinks yet? So we said no we only ordered them over 45 minutes ago. Mind the fact our party consisted of 3 people. All I ordered was 2 eggs and toast, the 2nd member ordered just pancakes and the 3rd member ordered eggs and bacon. We aren't ordering endless pancakes or something crazy. Just small breakfasts. Then finally after our long wait time we finally get our breakfast. The food wasn't very good either. The 2nd member of my party and I both ordered our eggs scrambled and they were fried for both of us. The bacon was over cooked, and the pancakes the the the other member of our party ordered were undercooked. Solid breakfast for a good price. This was an IHOP years ago and the owner tried to make it independent. After some time he went back to IHOP and nothing lost. We had a great waitress, prompt service, and the food was very good. My only star reduction was the sausage link were a bit cool - like they had been sitting for some time. On the positive side my son loved the chocolate chip pancakes (adult menu) and he raved about the taste. I have never been so livid than I am with the IHOP on Rt14 & Virginia Rd!!! I had ordered the steak tips with grilled onions, hash browns, 2 scrambled eggs & 2 NY cheesecake pancakes. What I got was 1 piece of steak so far, the rest is LIVER!!! That's right, LIVER!!!!! I asked for an extra scrambled egg which I did not receive and the pancakes were NOT NY cheesecake but plain pancakes!!!. They sure have a lot of nerve & playing with ones intelligence!!! What. The. Fuck. Okay- so here is what's up. I live in Chicago and took my mom out to see a movie in Crystal Lake (she lives in Woodstock), I had wanted to take her to 1776 afterwards for Tapas- however that went down the shitter because even though they close at 11:30- their kitchen closes at 10:30pm (the time the film ended). I mention Chicago because we have Tapas until like 1 or 2... and our hours coordinate with our kitchens. Crazy, right? Around The Clock reminded me of taking too much cold medicine to trip in high school, so that was not an option but hey Ihop was open! Who doesn't love breakfast for dinner? Anyway- we pull up in there and there' maybe ten booths full. Nothing too crazy, but it still took a moment to get seated. We were seated and asked what we would like to drink (two coffees). No biggy- Then another waiter comes to take our order - we both got omelets. About twenty-five minutes later- our waitress comes back to tell us our food would be out in a minute. Maybe three minutes later- a completely different server from the first two asked us what we had ordered because she had to "make sure it was right". Five minutes later the second waitress brings our food- my mom was accidently given pancakes instead of hash browns with her meal (she's pretend gluten sensitive- don't tell her I outed her). The server was somewhat snippy and took the pancakes back- we could hear her yelling at the kitchen before she returned with some hash browns. Food was mediocre.... Not like Morton's steakhouse mediocre. I mean like ihop's garbage can mediocre (I got the veggie omelet and you could tell all the spinach was a few hours away from wilting). Anyway- food is food and it was cheap food. We shoveled it down and were ready to bounce (we were tired). No servers in sight... A busboy came by and then suddenly had to "do something"- so he decided to take his giant gray tub of dirty dishes and place it in front of our table on the carpet and just left. Wtf? Still no servers in sight... Almost there an hour... Waitress comes by and asks if we wanted anything else (yeah, no), we requested the check. She dug around in apron and then realized she forgot to print our check- mumbles something about going to print it now and scampers away. We waited maybe four minutes and finally were like "fuck this---" and just started walking to the cashier up front. Well this woman was taking FOREVER to ring someone out, but it's cool. Finally it's our turn- she takes my credit card, swipes it and says "okay- two cheeseburgers and...". Girl no. We didn't order any damn cheese burgers- how are you just gonna swipe my card? Anyway- apparently she was reading the wrong check. I really could give a shit- it was less than $30 and I was ready to go. I am still unsure if I paid for our omelets and coffees or someone else's cheeseburgers and really don't care at this point. If you love waiting forever for service, like shitty food and consider dirty dish bins to be modern art- hit up this Ihop ASAP... If not... go to Around the Clock. read more
