Passing through this city of Delano and dined at iHop. We had the most AMAZING server by the name of Janet. She was attentive, always checking in on us, friendly, and very professional. She made our dining experience OUTSTANDING . Janet needs to be recognized for her exemplary mannerism and dedicated skills as a server. The food was delicious and well cooked. I had the grilled chicken salad and it was delicious. My family had waffles & chicken, the split decision breakfast and my lil' girl had kids Mac n cheese. Would not recommend this particular location. Service was terrible. They must be understaffed. Saw a table just get up and leave even after they had received their drinks. Server kept bringing things in pieces. Coffee carafe without cups. Cups without creme. Pancakes and no requested syrup. It was definitely not the ihop I know. The bright side was their 55+ menu. Ordered food this morning and couldn't believe the eggs were cold and pancakes seemed microwaved. Sad to hear Dennys has better pancakes and this place supposed to be the pancake place! My omelette was good if it were hot not cold. Please do better! Not much in town for breakfast so try to make better quality food or at least serve to customers with proper temperature. read more

We were seating promptly. Ordered and it took way too long to get our food. Was also lukewarm. Asked for hash browns cooked crispy, they were barely browned almost raw. Bacon was also undercooked. Pancakes were almost cold. These were 2 orders from the senior menu so not a lot involved in the prep. Server came by and asked how our Dodd was. I'm always a fan of IHOP and I'm so glad that Delano finally has something else other than Denny's and Perkos. In my opinion here in Delano, this is probably the better breakfast spot. The staff is very friendly and they actually look like they love their jobs. Even management is fantastic. I always see their manager walking around greeting customers and making sure everyone is happy. Now I know you're probably reading this and probably thinking... how is this chain restaurant even a 5 star. I happen to love breakfast and breakfast is my favorite meal, so it's no surprise I would rate a breakfast chain 5 stars. The pancakes here at IHOP is better than the other places and they are fluffy, thick and they taste delicious. This IHOP stays busy, but it's good for Delano because Delano is finally growing. It's clean and it's located near Walmart. It was built in a nice busy area and parking is not a factor. There's so many places to park and I have never had to wait more than 20 minutes for a table and our parties range from 4 - 10 at times. read more

I hadn't been here in a few years because well the menu is very limited and the portion sizes are too small for my taste. But I thought I would give it a shot. And nothing has changed, I ordered the smokehouse combo and the portion sizes are still too small, the food came out cold. If anything they took away options, as now you can only pour old fashioned syrup on your pancakes. Remember when you would have a variety at the table to choose from, well that's gone ! The hostess struggled pouring the coffee because the coffee dispenser didn't work so she had to open the lid but instead of exchanging it she left it on the table for me to struggle with. And there's no free wifi. I gave it 3 stars because the staff was friendly, it was emasculate clean, not busy and the atmosphere was inviting and relaxing and the taste was homemade. read more

We went to the Delano restaurant. It was the worse place we've ever been. We were there over 2 1/2 hours. When we finally got served the food it was so nasty. Everything was over cooked, the omelettes were even tough to eat. It was only warm from the heat lamps, that made it way to tough. We had to tell them to bring the children's food. the adults were served first. They just completely forgot the kids food. We didn't even get what we ordered. The manager that served the food seemed to be on drugs. No one could even understand him. It was our granddaughters graduation, where she wanted to go. How exciting! They finally have an IHOP in Delano. I came here for dinner with 14 of my God kids and we had a great time. When I first walked into IHOP I wasn't expecting it to be this big. The restaurant had a lot of tables for seating. I was greeted by the manager Shelly (she had the biggest smile and it was contagious) Since we had a big party they sat us down towards the back but like in its own private room. It was a very nice sized area. This space could be used for holiday events, birthday parties, awards banquets or just for large parties in general. Time to order 14 meals from kids aging 5-18 years old. Our server (forgot her name) was so friendly, helpful, respectful, professional, kind and most importantly patient. Our food came quick and all the kids loved it. No complaints (it's a miracle lol) the quality of the food was great and very reasonable with the price we paid. Thank you Ihop for the great service! We had to find a place to take an important Zoom call on our long drive from Southern California to Northern California. The place was clean and well-maintained. The staff was so sweet and friendly when we asked for a table suitable for me to join the meeting. I was able to use their secured wifi on my laptop. The pancakes and eggs hit the spot. With all 3 local football teams playing in town, how does this happen. The worst service for a Friday night. How does a manager allow only 1 cook, 1 waiter (who is only on her 5th day and she is pregnant) and 1 dishwasher. You are actually losing money by doing this. The wait to be served was over an hour. We visit Delano on the regular because we have family who live there and that is where my wife is from. One day on social media I saw someone post that Delano was getting an IHOP, not really surprising since Delano is growing. The restaurant is place in their Southwest side that is recently become the building grounds to bring Delano into the shopping plaza experience. IHOP is surrounded with several new businesses ranging from Deli Delicious to Walmart to Roundtable Pizza and a lot more. Delano is definitely due for the improvement for the city and their people, this brought a lot of job opportunities which weren't there when I attended high school in the late 90's at Delano High. If you know Delano, then you know everybody and their mama will be visiting all the new businesses and frequently. It is a change up from Dennys on the opposite side of town and the city is loving it. When we arrived we were instantly provided a table, it was busy but not packed. My family has been to several IHOP's and the menu is the same with some seasonal additions/subtractions. Our waitress was cordial, she seemed eager but nervous, yup we had a newbie. She took our order for drinks, brought them and then took our food order, this is where it strays from good to a need for improvement. I finished my beverage and I am not one to call over the waitress for a refill, I tend to let it sit there and when they notice, then I get the refill. The wait for a refill was lengthy, I received the refill towards the end of eating my meal but it was only after I flagged her down. I wasn't mad but a little disappointed, let me put this into perspective. We were in the corner of one side of the restaurant away from the bulk of customers, our waitress who I called a newbie seemed to be training with just our table. I have qualms about it but the person training her didn't do her justice with instructing/leading her to learn. The food is the standard IHOP dishes, nothing different except my hash browns were burnt on one side, burnt enough that I smothered them with ketchup. It was still edible but maybe it was just tolerance or no real expectations. We came here just a month into operation so we knew they were still working through it, even though a chain restaurant you still encounter kinks and such because you are starting with mostly inexperienced staff members. I am sure over the next months things will tighten up for them and they will be as successful as they expect to be in a city the size of Delano. read more

IHOP in Delano?! Whaaaaat?! I was super excited to try this place as I like having breakfast here, but the IHOPs in Bakersfield are always busy - Well, at least the times that I go. My 2 stars are mostly based on the service. We were told to wait 5 minutes to get seated even though there were a lot of empty tables. We had an early dinner around 4:00pm to arrive before the dinner crowd and was thrown off by having to wait. Our server, Chris, was good. However, he stopped checking on us after he provided us our bill midway through our meal. We had to hunt him down to ask for a refill and a couple of to-go boxes. The workers did not appear professional. We sat by the kitchen and I observed the workers going in and out. At one point, I saw a waitress flapping her arms and practically hopping into the kitchen. Not long after that, I heard a woman counting down and then cheering when she got to 0. I also saw a few waitresses who were always together that appeared to just be walking around, talking, and giggling and not tending to any customers. While I saw a lot of mishaps, I did see a few workers who were busting their butts, catering to people. Our food was okay. The best thing I ate was the buttermilk pancakes. They were on point; I almost ate it all. I ordered the smokehouse combo with scrambled easy eggs. My eggs were not wet at all and my hash browns looked a bit different. They were not the thin crispy hash browns I am used to. They were thick and fluffy, not a lot of crispy. Overall, it was okay. I'm not sure what's with the new management but it's not the same as before. This place is dirty, my seats were sticky. The wait for my food took more than 40 minutes. I remember going there and they played songs, and now it's just quiet and I can hear so many of peoples conversations. It's too expensive for a place that has bad management. The manger had AirPods on and never came to greet us or even out of his office. The servers didn't come to us as much as I would like to check up on me and my family for any needs. Decided to take the wife for breakfast. We got our drinks and ordered our food. 40 minutes later wife got her plate with burnt hash browns and no butter on her toast. I got the pancakes from my order and that was all. My main plate never came. Sat and waited for nearly another 20 minutes and nothing. I tell a waitress to cancel my order and just charge me for the pancakes. And voila my order comes out. I sent it back. This place sucks! I would give it zero stars but you can't do that.
