I am sorry to see that this IHOP does not get better reviews. Every time we have gone in for breakfast, we had a great experience. We are seated immediately and our waitress Rina always remembers what we ordered from the last time we came in. We go about every three months after I get a haircut. If it wasn't bad enough that it took 40 min to receive our order (not busy), the server, Teagan proceeded to blame it on the kitchen & not the fact that she was not on top of getting the orders out in a timely manner. We had to ask the manager for assistance & he was very helpful. After all of that, the food was actually the worst we ever had it- the pancakes were undercooked, eggs were stale & there were missing ingredients from the order. Horrible service! We waited in the waiting area 10 minutes to be seated after we flagged a waitress down. Heard arguing between the workers about tables, money, food, etc... There were not a lot of customers (maybe 12 people), but it seemed like nearly every table was filled with dirty dishes. After being seated and listening to the other customers complain about the service and quality of the food for another 15-20 minutes, we left after no one even came to our table. In the meantime, we flagged down 2 other waitresses that said they were going to get someone for our table. No one came. We decided to remove ourself from the establishment and as we were leaving, one of the ladies rushed behind us and finally tried to get us help. I met up with a friend to have breakfast. I waited about 5 minutes to be seated. Then my friend joined me later. Alie J was our server. He was the best, got me some water while waiting for my friend to join me. Right when she got there, he came to welcome her, introduce himself and start with drinks. He very nice, polite and attentive, although it was busy. He checked on us many times to make sure we were alright. When he was busy, another waitress stepped in to help us out. I have been to this ihop location many times and most of the times, I get the breakfast sampler so I knew what to expect. I don't eat pork so I got turkey everything. I like ihop for that. My friend got a fancy omelet, I forgot what it was called. She said it was good and she's very critical when it comes to her food so I knew it must be good. Overall, the experience was okay. Like I mentioned, I come to this ihop a lot and my experiences are always the same. I have noticed that every time I get my food, it is a little cold though, just a little. Food was pretty good came out hot! Gotta love that these days. We have tried a few cafes around but the food has been so awful. Glad I found IHOP! Ordered the pesto eggs Benedict it was fabulous! The potatoes were ok, the coffee is a lot better. Husband had the veggie omelet it was great, lots of veggies and not over cooked. Service was a little slow they don't have the pitchers of coffee anymore so you do have to wait for them to bring coffee now. Place is clean and not sticky, you can sit with out being so close to someone else that you can actually hear them breath. I'll be back IHOP! read more

I would like to take this opportunity to recognize the staff of the IHOP Restaurant located at 3914 Fettler Park Dr., Dumfries, VA 22025. Your staff's tremendous generosity and hospitality during my last visit were truly appreciated; as a military officer responsible for over 16,600 people and having worked in the food and service side of the military, I understand the challenges often associated with customer service. Your staff exceeded the call of duty to accommodate my needs and my son's special dietary needs due to a liver transplant at eight weeks old because of a dairy allergy. The food was delivered promptly and made fresh to order. The entire service team--from the staff who cleared the tables to ensure safety and sanitary conditions, to Marilyn, who ensured our order was taken correctly, to the kitchen staff who ensured our food was hot and freshly made were all wonderful. I especially want to recognize Anthony, a manager whose understanding of servant leadership knows no bounds. I witnessed him handle challenges with incorrect orders, clean and clear tables, serve coffee, and answer questions posed by myself and other tables, from the quality of the butter pecan syrup to why the change in location for syrup at the tables--side note I'm totally not a fan of putting the syrup on the outside edge of the table. He looked professional in dress and had the most inviting personality and attention to detail. The staff writ large had the perfect mix of professionalism and hospitality, complimenting my dining experience. In this fast-paced and ever-changing world, it is refreshing to know that the IHOP franchise continues to value the most important part of customer service--the customer. Our organization has been placing an order for delivery once a month for 4 months now. They are always on time, they are always professional when they bring the food. They call when there are any questions with enough time to get everything situated before the delivery time. The food is always good. Service is slow. Food is generally overpriced and greasy diner fare but decent. Ambiance is terrible. They have one of those door alarms that beeps every time someone walks past it. It's in the waiting area so every time someone is standing and swaying in front of it while waiting for their food it makes a sound. It was driving me crazy. It went off probably 30 times in the span of a minute and continued to do so for the hour we were there. read more

Hands down the worst. This place had less than 10 guests in it on a Friday at 5 pm on Veterans Day. It took them 10-mins to come to the table after seating us. Then another 10-mins to bring us water, then we never saw anyone again until we got our food 40-mins later. The only reason we came here was to get a little Veteran's day appreciation. The servers did come apologize for the delay, but the management needed to be more communicative about the issues behind the scenes instead of letting their customers sit and wait without a word or explanation. 60-mins for a few breakfast items isn't necessary. read more

The bacon tasted rancid and the crepes were hard. The flavored butter was stale. Did they change management? We asked the waiter 2x for water, ordered OJ (these never came and we were charged for the OJ). We should have been served by the other waiter who was more attentive to his customers. What a difference some years make!!!! I had to comeback and drop that extra star because Daniel was fantastic!!! It was super busy here and the wait for a table was only 15 minutes. Once we were seated, Daniel came over, introduced himself and advised that he would be right back to get our drink order but did not want us to think he did not see us. Kudos for the acknowledgement! We were able to order quickly once he returned. All the food returned to the table with steam bellowing from the plates!! Everything was hot, fresh and you know the rest. Gone with the wind as the table became pin drop quiet as everyone enjoyed there food. While we were waiting finishing our food, the staff allowed a couple to enter with a dog. Not only was this dog allowed in, the staff allowed the couple to let their animal sit in the booth on the bench seat. This is so unsanitary, particularly when the dog is also eating while sitting in the booth. I have nothing against dogs, but I do not want them in a place where people eat. I especially do not want to come and sit down in a booth where an animal previously sat. I think the health department should look into this practice. read more

While I understand that its short staffed everywhere in the world right now, if you're gonna do a job- do it right. The host had such a horrible attitude our entire time when we kept asking for napkins because their A/C unit was leaking above us and on our table. And not to mention, all of our napkins were stained with something red. Racquel and another young lady did a great job making sure everyone (even those outside of their sections) were taken care of. I've been here twice. The first time wasn't the best experience, but the second time was redeeming. The first time was a BUSY weekend morning, but we didn't mind the wait or crowd. All the servers looked lost. They forgot my pancakes, and then seemed annoyed that I asked for them. When I did finally get some, they were so cold that the butter wouldn't melt on them. The second time, it wasn't busy at all. It took kind of a while to get seated, but we overheard the servers talking. It sounded like the morning people had left without giving one of the waitresses her break, so she had to work though it? They seemed under-staffed, and like they were trying to figure out what to do. I have sympathy for these situations, because I've been there, and I understand that it's out of your control a lot of times. When I order corn with butter, I usually get a whole corn not can corn and it like they just pour it out and slam butter on it. Even gravy, I never have anything like this. Tasteless and just look like thing from cans. I don't mind the fact they use cheap ingredients, but please make it good. I had ihop before. It never taste this bad. Never ever come to this place. They done even clean the table after guests leave. I count at least 7 tables with dirty dishes. That is not acceptable. I don't care how busy the business are but they have to keep it clean. We came in sit and wait for over an hour to get food and the dishes still there. I don't even see them see and check on the table. There were only 4 tables of guests and 3 waitresses. My boyfriend and I came here for vacation and tried TWO separate times to be seated here and both times were ignored by staff and the manager working both days. The manager was very rude to any customer that came in and went as far as to tell one customer who was trying to ask a question, "I don't have time for this" and walked off despite my boyfriend and I and a few other people standing there waiting to either be seated or told how long the wait time is. This place is just horrible. We ordered couple of times through Door Dash and both times our orders were wrong. Last time when we got someone else's order I drove to the restaurant to pick up my order after paying delivery and service fees to Door Dash. To my great surprise and disappointment restaurant staff wasn't giving me any attention. The host desk area was packed with people, and nobody knew who was in charge and what was going on. After few minutes of waiting I was able to get a guy to hear my problem. He was rude, abrupt and didn't even acknowledge that restaurant made a mistake, nor apologized. I picked up my very cold order and went back home. I will never use this place again and won't recommend it to anyone. Take your hard earned money some place else. I made the mistake of treating myself on my birthday. The restaurant had approximately 5 customers when I arrived. The waitress was extremely slow to the point I had to ask various staff for items during my time there. A senior citizen joked about me paying his meal. I just lost my dad a month prior, so I paid for the man's meal on my birthday. The waitress charged me full price vs senior prices for the man's meal. I asked for a correction. The manager who was REAL nasty to me after I did an act of kindness took ten light years to refund and correctly charge the meal; and became argumentative and chauvinistic towards me when I went to the other area to rest my purse and body (I have handicap tags by the way). He started yelling for me to stand where he was. He was a complete arse. I regretted buying the man a meal and coming to IHOP because this is not the first time I went there to an almost empty restaurant and got slow lousy service! NEVER AGAIN! Meanwhile waiters were sitting in doorways and at a table talking. It was 1:00pm with virtually no customers on 10/3. That unprofessional manager can kiss my tail. read more

I have never been to a restaurant that sucked more than this one. I have worked in multiple restaurants, theres no way it should be that bad. When we walked into the restaurant, we weren't greeted by a host for almost 10 minutes. We sat quickly after greeted, but then weren't greeted by a waitress or asked our drinks for at least another 10 minutes. We put our food orders in with our drinks so we could get it out as quickly as possible, didn't work. My boyfriend ordered the new Chicken Biscuit Sandwich (which he has ordered at other locations and loved). The plate we received was not at all what the picture looks like, embarrassing. The sandwich was supposed to have a chicken patty, right? Tell me why they put TWO CHICKEN FINGERS ON A BISCUIT AND CALLED IT A DAY LOL. I'm not usually the type to complain about food, but man let me tell you we sent that shit back so fast. The fries looked like they have sat there for way too long, and the amount they gave us is crazy (i will provide pictures). We then asked to order something else for him, PANCAKES. We waited at least another 20 minutes and they still never came. We had to ask the manager for the bill because our waitress was not around for a while. We were charged for the food we never got but the manager ended up taking it off thankfully.
