I ordered breakfast for our family today for curb side pick up from I hop 1557 Merritt Blvd, Dundalk, MD 21222, & was told our order would be ready at 0915. Upon my arrival at 0915 I called the store to advise I was there & ready to pick up my order, but I was advised my order was not ready & it would be brought out when it was ready. I waited an additional 15 minutes & called again to only receive the same answer. Once again I waited 15 additional minutes & called again. The lady who answered the phone said hold on I'll go check on your order, about 2 minutes later a woman came out with a large bag which was stapled closed like Ft. Knox. I asked if everything was in the bag & she assured me it was. After getting home & opening the bag we found the order was incomplete. We made 15 attempts to call I hop back and finally after the 16th call was able to get through. We talked to the person who answered the phone, but she was clueless. We asked to speak to the manager he did offer at that time to replace the partial order that was missing, but we had already finished what breakfast we did have. This is not the customer service we expected. He could have at least offered a partial refund as I did not want to go back & sit on their parking lot for another 30 minutes. read more

This is just what you'd expect an IHOP to be, nothing more and nothing less. We both ordered a small stack of pancakes (plain for me and "cinnastack" for LoML - I guess that means cinnamon, I don't know), eggs and hash browns, as well as a "country steak" for me. It tasted just fine (though I can still taste the steak 6 hours later - it must be the oil it was fried in or something). Prices were about on the mark for a chain pancake house. Our server was polite enough, though she seemed a little tired. I think we came in during a shift change. I did take off a star or two because the management was cleaning tables around us and actually put down dirty rags and used coffee pots on the adjoining table - that was kind of not appreciated, thanks, I don't particularly want to look at a nasty, dirty rag while I'm eating. The place was hellishly busy for a Saturday afternoon; a LOT of screaming children. Not IHOP's fault, certainly, but it didn't make for any kind of an ambient experience. We'd still come back for a good pancake dinner if we're so inclined. The food itself was good and exactly what we wanted. Not too bad. Tip for Diabetics: Watch out for the pancakes, potatoes and other sugar-laden bombs. Your best bet here is to stick to the eggs, breakfast meats (bacon and sausages), and steaks. I honestly don't want to hear about COVID and staffing. Went here tonight and the place was not to busy, 10 minute wait if that. Shown to our table, ...no bread rolls or butter.., server was great ordered drinks and apps that came quickly. She took our order, large Caesars Salad no chicken or anything just the salad, wife order house salad with chicken. We drank our drinks and ate the appetizers and talked... it was 20 to 30 minutes and the server came back to say it should be out amy minute... we talked some more, now it was getting ridiculous. We flagged down the server and asked about our food she went on back. Her return was that my Caesars was ready but waiting on the chicken. 15 to 20 minutes later she tells us the ticket was lost and they have a rush on it. Shortly after my Caesars arrived and still no house salad with chicken... if they spent less time with their birthday yelling and more time preparing food oh never mind. Food finally comes out but we are done so we asked to pack it up. Server said manager was to come over but they never showed. Bill came , no discounts whatsoever, in fact we see that the side Caesars they brought was billed as a full salad ... honestly go eat at Outback or Longhorn it is just not worth it here. I used to come here every week with my kids but the service hasn't been the best. My favorite servers are Lola and Tiffany. The last time I went was in January and after the server kept reaching over our plates and coughing and almost dropping our items, I decided it was time to give IHOP Dundalk a rest. First time here. It was very crowded. I was here on a Saturday morning. When the first seated us we were in a space where one person in our party had to keep getting up because of where we were seated. Before we even ordered we asked if we could be moved and it was no problem. The food was ok. But, I was a little disappointed when I got to the end of my chicken omlette and it was chocolate syrup in it. I didn't even feel like complaining. Thankfully, I had eaten more than enough to be full. Not so sure if I would want to return to this business. Quick service breakfast is the key word here! However, food quality is always consistently good regardless of how busy they're. What I enjoy most is their ability to turn tables quickly In order to seat fast. Servers are always great and knowledgable of their promotional items. I must admit I've been here at least a dozen times and never had a bad meal. Even the lunch has that rustic diner feel. I'm sure they aren't perfect, but from the experiences I've had, I imagine they would handle any issues in a professional and apologetic manor. They recently remodeled and it looks great! Not much of a coffee drinker but their hot cocoa is delicious. I tend to go here weekends between breakfast and lunch so naturally chicken and waffles is my favorite dish! read more

I was not impressed. I know, I know...its IHOP but still, for $25.07 (not including a tip) I expected more. My "French Vanilla" coffee just tasted like regular coffee. My stuffed French Toast looked like a strawberry massacre on bread. I hardly got any hashbrowns for the $3 I paid. Since I didn't like my coffee, I asked for a water. I ate half my food before I got my water. The waitress came back to see if we were enjoying our food but we were just about finished by the time she did. Probably won't come back. read more

Please, avoid this place at all costs, when we got there the staff were barely awake, can't blame them there was about 5 guests in total. After we were seated our server asked us what we wanted to start off with, to which I replied with 2 Stack buttermilk pancakes, 2 chocolate chip pancakes and a hot chocolate. 15 minutes later, she comes out with 2 chocolate chip pancakes and they tasted like paper, I can't make this up, the food was so badly made I almost wanted to tell them. Went to this place for breakfast after getting an oil change for my vehicle. It was about a 20-25 minute wait. When i finally got seated in a corner. The server walks by me 5 - 6 times and did not acknowledge me in the corner booth. She went to 2 tables provided them service with her comments of "have a blessed day" She even glanced at me as she was walking by and not once say "I'll be with you in a moment to take your order" She just kept going. The 2 tables were African-American women. So on my way out I asked one the ladies how long did it take until they were served? They told me not long...I waited 15 minutes and got up and walked out. Sept. 6, 2015 I had a great experience. The restaurant was just about filled to capacity when I arrived. It took less than five minutes to be seated. The service was great. My server attended to me within three minutes of being seated and my breakfast came out about 10 minutes later. I hear this location is one of the newer iHOP restaurants. The management is doing a great job of keeping the service at a premium rate. read more

Food is edible but just barely. I've ate inside and order to go and I wouldn't recommend either. Service inside is slow and it took me 20 minites to get a waitress' attention when I was ready to pay my bill. The to go order was just as bad. I came a little late and I still had to wait 10 minutes for anyone to get my food. I asked two different people and when I got my food it was cold. Skip this place. Day manager sucks. He acts as though we all have to be here for 8 hours. When we 1st got here he went into the office for 5 minutes. Then he came out and say a table of 3. Puttered around the restaurant for another 5 minutes the cam back to seat us. Meanwhile there was an elderly couple waiting. This IHOP has great service! There were 8 of us! Our waitress kept our drinks filled and was very attentive. The food was excellent!

Me and my crew love this place it is kind of ghetto but we like that about it. The staff is cute and the food is aight. I like putting the syrup on my food that is a plus about this place they give you a lot of syrup. All kinds too! It's bad ass! Thank goodness for IHOP! Drove into town rather late on Thanksgiving, we wanted to take mom out for dinner but Nothing was open anywhere. Turns out the food was great, and the service was excellent. All the staff were pleasant and kind and friendly, even though it was late And it was Thanksgiving evening, and we were served immediately. We had a Huge "Big Steak" omelet that was stuffed full and took up the entire plate. Also the Sliced Turkey sandwich was like 5 inches high served on a pretty marble rye with amazingly good onion rings. And I had the cream cheese crepes with peaches and the best hot chocolate ever. We were very pleasantly surprised and more than full, And we took home leftovers. Highly recommend this IHOP on Merritt Blvd. read more

We stopped going to this IHOP years ago because it was so unclean. With new management and a facelift we began returning. After several visits I can tell you they are returning to the old ways. Tonight the service was slow and the food cold. We ordered almost right away then waited 28 minutes for our food. It was just breakfast food, nothing special. Meanwhile the server never checked on us even once. I did complain to the Manager. She did start to argue with me at first but then apologized for our meal. This was the straw. I have been here on multiple occasions with a declining experience every time. The wait can be horrendous depending on when you go so definitely make sure you check before you commit to this place. When finally seated it seems to take way too long for a server to acknowledge your existence. On one visit it actually took longer for the waitress to notice us than it did to get our food when the order was placed. The waitress that we had that day looked like she rolled out of a bed in the back and decided to take an order, which she didn't get right. After sending my order back it was corrected but by the time it came back out the rest of my family was so close to being finished I just simply had to take it to go so I didn't feel the need to rush. The ONLY reason I would go back to this location is because the quality of the food, when it is right, is actually very good. They just need to bring the rest of the service up to par. read more

ADDED TO THE "OH HELL NO" LIST Went there after work for a nice quick dinner because I didn't feel like cooking and my son and hubby wanted breakfast; Perfect...until I decided on the roasted turkey platter with stuffing, gravy and lingonberry (spelling) jam..well it looked nothing like the photo..more like it was all thrown on the plate and missing the berry jam/sauce...anyway I go to take a bite and I smell something as the fork nears my face...really, do I smell this? Having had a bad crab cake here or there I recognized the ammonia smell...but since it was turkey and stuffing w/gravy, I thought well maybe it is just me and that is not the smell...so after getting the opinion of my 16yr old and my husband...we agree...it is not good. I asked for the mgr and after 15 mins she appears, I advise that they may want to take it off of the "special" menu..she does apologize, and as I watched, she tossed the food in the trash,saying nothing to the staff or cook and continues to go back waiting tables....maybe it wasn't removed from the "specials" menu as that is the reason it was on there...maybe if there were more gravy on it the smell would have been completly masked....ughhhh. International House of Pancakes? You would think that this place would have Awesome Pancakes due to the fact of their name. Now I don't know if its just this IHOP or what but when I order Blueberry Pancakes I expected to get Pancakes with Blueberries in them. Well I didn't instead I got these tiny little blueberries on top with alil bit of blueberry sauce. The waitress said that's how they make them. Not being in the mood we left. Came back to IHOP and now I asked the waitress why do you show a picture of Blueberry Pancakes if you actually don't put Blueberries in them like the picture she said "Oh you have to order Double Blueberry" . Ahha now I see. And I won't be going back there again. Seriously it was bad. I ordered it and it was not like the picture again. I'm done its too expensive to be dissatisfied. Complaining seems to not change their ways just a possible discount. That's sad with a name like International House of Pancakes to not actually get a decent Blueberry Pancake. Also I always had to say No Powdered Sugar when I ordered anything and I'd 70% of the time got it anyway. Just disappointed for the last time in this place.
