I hadn't been to Texas Roadhouse in a few years given fitness training and meal planning I've been doing. I was quite excited when my daughter mentioned that we should visit. The rolls and cinnamon butter were always something I was fond of and looking forward to but their recipe seems to have changed from what I recall. The cinnamon butter wasn't as sweet as I remember it, and the bread not as hot and soft. I ordered a sirloin with salad and sweet potato. The steak was delicious, the salad not as robust with vegetables as I recall, and the sweet potato aggregate of cinnamon and butter not quite the same. I'm not sure if the recipes changed as they normally do over the years or whether I just don't appreciate it as much. Either way, I wasn't as impressed as I have been with other restaurants offering steak, salad, and sweet potatoes. Service was great. Hunter did a great job serving our needs and making sure everything was as good as it could be. They do offer a 10% military discount when you ask, although it's 10% off the main meal. We saved $1+. All four of us at the table were veterans and apparently eligible for the discount but it was only applied to the one meal. They have a virtual waitlist that you can add your name to in advance which I recommend to avoid too much of a wait. read more

I love and have many kids, but when I am spending $50 a meal I would prefer not to have a herd of kids next to me. No refills on our drinks. Had to wait for our bill and boxes. I came in a few weeks ago. Told mgr. how bad it was.They apologized & said they were sending out 2 gift cards since we didn't eat our food!. We never received them. Apparently they don't care that the have the dirtiest roadhouse I've ever been in. The host that took us to our table told us she doesn't eat at there she drives to the outer loop roadhouse. He said he would send the manager over and never did. POC, steer clear! This specific restaurant in this town continues to be the place that my partner and I(both POC)get the most hateful looks when we come inside. The place is always full of white people, and it's like they have never seen any POC before, so they will stare daggers into you, not looking away unless you stare back.. sometimes not even then. The servers/host/hostesses are 9/10 always rude/disrespectful, some hosts/hostesses not even greeting us when we come in. We've gotten servers that did not smile once while serving us. The food also sucks. The last time we went to get a nice ribeye, the ribeye was bloody and disgusting, when it was supposed to be a medium rare, not rare, and when we asked for a new one, the new one came back not looking much better. Decided to choose this as my destination meal from an 11 hr journey to drive from West Grove, PA to Elizabethtown,Ky for a family funeral. I almost made the mistake of ordering steak, which is my usual here. But I was feeling adventurous (maybe it's the shirt I'm wearing), and I ordered baby back ribs. Waitress mentioned that they also serve salmon and you can get it blackened. When I asked if I can get a side of shrimp blackened, she paused and said she's never heard of anyone doing that at Texas Roadhouse. At this point, I was all about it. And the cook staff delivered! Those shrimp might have been pre~frozen, but they were bringing the heat. Even the bread they were staged on was on fire. One of the most enthusiastic meals I've ever had at Texas Roadhouse. I have always loved this Texas Roadhouse location the best! It has been awhile since I have been here and they haven't lost their touch! My friends and I met here for dinner a few days ago. It was crowded as usual but we were able to get in pretty quickly. We had the one of the greatest servers I have ever had. She was a young 22 year old girl. Her name was Emily. Our waitress kept the rolls coming & along with our drinks. (Side note 2 of us asked for lemon in our waters & didn't come with lemon, I had to ask for lemon slices later on). Our fried pickles came out hot & crispy! They were delicious and even better dipped in the spicy ranch. A few minutes (5 mins ish) 2 of us got side salad that came out as we ordered. They were fresh & good. A little while later our food came out. Everything was fine and exactly what we ordered. Everyone's meal was delicious & flavored well. Didn't have any leftovers and we all left full. Only one complaint- both New York Strips steak had quite a bit of fatty meat that was hard to cut actual beef. I hate leaving this review. I know what the Roadhouse is capable of. But this one is missing the mark. My most recent visit is the cause for this review. I was there on a Monday. It was consistently busy, but not so much that there was a wait for a table. Right out if the gate, my bread was cold. The last time before, the bread was "hot" but undercooked. I placed my order and told my server I also would have a to go order. It was waiting for that order to be texted to me. I got an 8 oz filet, baked potato, and green beans. Only the green beans were marginally warm. The potato was really "off." TR is known for the salty skin on their potatoes. This one---I don't know if it wasn't prepped right, but the skin was very dark and had little to no salt. No huge deal...just further example of everything being off-kilter. My to go order was beef tips with mashed potatoes & gravy, no mushrooms, and a salad with extra egg, added bacon, and extra dressing. Idk why I didn't check it at the table. (Lesson learned!!!!) I got home, and I had a carton of beef tips with onions AND mushrooms (which I didn't want and told them no mushrooms). They completely botched the order even more because there were NO mashed potatoes AND NO gravy. At that point, the restaurant was closing so there was no point in calling or returning. I don't know what the disconnect is. I live in this area and frequently visit this particular restaurant. Over the past 6 - 12 months it has consistently declined. I've never had a bad server. There is a problem with getting food to the table while it's hot. When they get this right, it's great. It just never seems to happen. And the bread is always a gamble...as I stated before, the options tend to be 1) cold and somewhat dry or 2) pale (not browned) and hot but undercooked. I have stopped ordering broccoli. Even when I ask for it to be double steamed (which is really just an extra run in a microwave), it's always too hard and tough. It has happened so much that I just don't order it. We didn't get there until late so I wasn't surprised that the place wasn't overly busy, but busy enough that you feel good about going there. We were seated shortly and drinks were served. The place was clean as were the restrooms. The bread and butter was yummy. Okay, I stole a bite and my blood sugar hated it, but I loved it. We all ordered steaks, NY Strips and fillet (I think they call them medallions). My steak was okay, not great, but not bad either. Their fake A-1 sauce is gross and I didn't like whatever the other sauce was either, it was super nasty. If the steak was super I wouldn't know that, but alas. The sides were yummy. Our server was really friendly and helpful until she wasn't. Trying to hint that she wanted us to leave after we ate she helped us pay, okay that could have been a nice gesture. Grabbing my drink glass and slamming it down into another and saying 'thanks for coming see you later' kinda pissed me off a bit. So she wanted to free up the table, I thought okay it must be busy still ... NOPE. Nobody waiting in the lobby, nobody outside, and nobody showed up for 10 minutes after we left. Remember we met our college daughter so we were talking in the parking lot. For the price the meal was mostly worth it, but I refuse to be treated like crap especially for no reason. We ate here while visiting from California. We have Texas Road House in California and we love this restaurant chain. Our experience at the Elizabethtown location was EXCELLENT! The food was amazing and the service was top notch. Our waitress was on top of things. She brought our soda refill before we even had to ask. She stopped by the right amount of times to see how we were doing and needed anything. The manager even stopped by to ask how our food was tasting. We did not take any pictures as we are regulars at Texas Road House in our home state.
