Never go on a Sunday. We waited 10 minutes for be seated, after being seated we waited another 15 minutes to even get coffee and water. We mentioned that you must be understaffed. No if we hire more the tips are worse. So have the customer wait versus better service. She just lost our tip. No one to clean tables, no concern of customers waiting, but we can't interfere with them waiting tables understaff. The bit of sunshine is Connie who usually opens the restaurant but is "cut" if we get there at 11:30. She is the most efficient server I have ever seen. I feel the management is cutting corners. IHOP pancakes are a luxury food at easy on the wallet prices. The pancakes are made to order and are hot and freshly made -- fluffy--and the service is consistently friendly and fast. I really do compare them to (in central Florida ) Disneys restaurants and the Mission inn's food and service. I went early for breakfast and did takeout - and service was fast. Ordered a chicken quesadilla last night for pick up @ 7:30 pm It was the worst quesadilla I have ever seen or tasted . There was literally 5 little pieces of cubed chicken and barely even any cheese. It was so paper thin my hubby asked if I got anything on it or just a folded tortilla shell . The sour cream was also spoiled . I could smell the fowl smell as soon as I took off the lid to the sour cream and the salsa was tart tasting . I was so disappointed . Had a gift card so went here to use it. There was a sign on the door stating they were short staffed. One person was hostess and server and there was one cook. Only 3 tables of customers (including mine) so server was able to handle it. Food was good, but portion sizes were smaller than what I've experienced at other locations. Usually it's no issues being seated or even greeted as you enter through the doors. It's a go to for the food and service. Usually but for some reason today my brother and I walked in just like any other Monday morning and the 3 servers that were working seen us walk in glanced in our direction and kept doing what they were doing had to be at least 7 mins no greeting no we'll be right with you anything the lack of customer service was beyond me and to top it off their training a new server so basically their showing the newbie all the things you shouldn't do when it comes to customer service. On Thursday, January 15th the waiter was having a very busy morning. We ate our food and asked the waiter for to go boxes. She brought two, but we needed three boxes. She brought the box and I asked for a bag to carry the three containers. She was rude and said, "do you need anything else from back there?" She made other rude comments, but we ignored her. She was busy, so we went to the counter to pay the bill. The person at the counter, called the waiter over to cash us out. She was angry because we sat for fifteen minutes waiting to pay the bill. My husband handed her the card, once she swiped it, instead of handing the card back to him, she placed it on the counter. He could tell she was very irritated. According to the manager the waiter mistakenly gave herself a $54 tip. The tip she gave herself was more than the total cost of breakfast for two people! Trouble was I found a hair in my hash browns. I was throughly disappointed. Korin was busy with other customers so, I informed another server. The other server quickly removed the plate. I informed Korin when she came around to check on us. I appreciate that Korin apologized , which the other server did not. We were relived when Korin told us the manager removed the price of the hash browns from our bill. I have ordered them before at another IHOP and they were delicious. But I just couldn't finish them. I took them to go and gave them to my friend who I was with. I guess you can't always go strictly by the reviews here on Yelp. We were part of a group of eight friends, and we were seated quickly, had great service and it was the best breakfast I have had in a long time. We had only one server, and she had other tables also, but she did okay. She was helpful, funny, and knew the ins and outs of their menu. Instead of my usual restaurant breakfast choice of an omelette or skillet meal, I felt like trying their biscuits with gravy, eggs, sausage and hash browns. Partly because it was different than usual, and also because it was cheaper than most of their offerings. $7.29 I believe. For my eggs I went with scrambled with cheese, and it was the best scrambled eggs I can remember getting in a restaurant, or maybe even when I have made them at home. They were hot, fluffy and cheesy. The large biscuit and gravy was fine, and the sausage links were real, not brown and serve. The hash browns weren't memorable, but adequate. It made for a large meal. Others at the table were happy with their choices as well. One of us had the country omelette, and it was so tall and thick we joked that it was the size of a small country, The only negative to report is minor: I didn't feel like I got enough coffee. You pay $2.50 and they bring these tiny pots that you share out, and it didn't quite seem to come fast enough for all of us. The coffee cups were tiny. But I also had ice water, so it wasn't a tragedy or anything. So I will be glad to go again, though perhaps I would skip the pricy coffee. read more

I cannot review the food because we never received any. As a matter of fact, they never took our order. The waitress stopped by shortly after we arrived and said she would be with us soon but that never happened. After 15 minutes we noticed all the people (several tables) who came in after us had drinks and their menus were gone so they had ordered. We waited another 5 minutes and decided to leave. We are very disappointed because the server was so disorganized I believe she completely forgot us. As far as IHOPs go, this one is awesome! From my experience, they've always been willing to accomodate for any requests (sub meat for something else, or let me order my favorite 'funny face' pancake off the kids menu) whereas the Leesburg IHOP will literally let you LEAVE before allowing you to order a funny face pancake off the kids menu... I've had to send my over-medium eggs back at this location before, for the white being too runny and they were really nice about it--I can't imagine how that situation would have gone down at the Leesburg IHOP... Our waitress was a total sweetheart. We are sincerely grateful to her for her service today. Everything else was quite a mess, and unfortunately was out of her control. After having to send two of our orders back for being incorrect or improperly prepared, we were informed that the restaurant only had a single cook working during Prime breakfast hour. Enjoyed a good meal sharing the holiday specials with our grandkids tonight. Our waitress was friendly and efficient. Food was hot and as ordered. Everything just right except for some overcooked poached eggs. These are quickly remedied and brought to the table by the cook, or maybe manager, who comped one of our meals as an apology. Had a late (by Tavares Standards) dinner here one night with mom and sister after visiting my dad at the hospital. We were exhausted and cranky to be honest, lots of tough stuff going on in our lives. There was only one server on and apparently we were not the only people looking for dinner around 9:00 on a school night. It took a while to get served and we understood why. But once the ball was rolling everything went very quickly, food was good, delivered hot. Our server was extremely pleasant and went out of her way to make sure we had a good experience. The manager came to the table as well. I don't typically write reviews for chains ... because you get what you get, but they really added a dose of hometown service to the corporate chain. As much as we regret to rate this IHOP location as one star for the apologies and attempts to fulfill our order by the manager/cook and waitress the rest of the experience was unacceptable. They did not have crepes and hamburger buns on this day, so substitutions were made. However, our order was not accurate as agreed on at the table. Mayo was missing, onion rings came as fries and final receipt was missing line items on order and shown as a total only, so we could not see if any comps were provided. This location needs to be visited by corporate to assist in ordering and training the cooks to fulfill the orders ASAP. read more

After speaking with an employee of the store,I was assured that my situation would be properly taken care of when I returned. This was far from the truth! The manager in training was very unprofessional and had no idea how to resolve the situation properly. After I had taken time away from my job, he only wanted to provide a very small gift card to resolve the situation and not provide me with lunch. Because of his lack of professionalism, I will be without lunch today after purchasing a spoiled chicken salad from what I perceived to be a reputable businesses.
