I just left the Jessup MD location. The greater Barbra was amazing. I've been to this location several times in the past and dreaded each time. It's close to work and sometimes I have very limited time to grab breakfast. The food is usually average. Today the fajita chicken omelet was very good. Went here for a late night meal and I was surprised by how good the food was. Historically, i have not had a great experience with IHOPs but this was a good time. The staff was very nice. All the food we ordered was cooked well and good quality. Inside was one of the cleaner IHOPs i have been too. It is a bit smaller than most IHOPs I have been to as well. I was looking at a certain dish and she let me know, the same dish was on the $10 and under page. So, I ended up saving $3! GO HER! The place and staff may have been a bit overwhelmed. We had a very odd experience at this IHOP. We went late at night so they only had a few people on staff, but the young girl serving us was slow as molasses. It took her about 20 min to get our drinks and another 40 min to get our food. It wasn't even that busy, just a couple other people in the restaurant. She kept going to the back and talking to co-workers or being on her phone, rather than being attentive to the tables. We had to ask for utensils multiple times since she kept forgetting, so we just grabbed some from another table. She also left out some items from our order, which we also had to remind her a few times. When she finally brought the food she had forgotten, my husband didn't say thank you since he was annoyed by that point, and she rudely said 'you're welcome'. Our server was Liz, and she was polite, professional, and personable from start to finish! She gave outstanding service and was efficient. The manager, Ainul Abedin, was present, courteous, and helpful without needing to be asked. He was very professional and friendly. I've been going to IHOP since forever, and I can honestly say that this was the BEST location I've ever visited. The food came out quickly and was accurate. The eggs were cooked to perfection and so delicious that I asked to see the cook to tell him myself. Everything was very good, well prepared, and we enjoyed our breakfast thoroughly! Food exceeded expectations for an affordable breakfast place. However, service lacked in all aspects. No host at the front door to greet us and a waitress sat us at a table where we waited...and waited. We got water, and then waited some more. After several attempt of making eye contact and flagging our waitress down she finally came and quickly took our order. My Colorado omelette was huge and was plentiful with meat, and the pancakes with it were fluffy and soft. Brought the kids here Thanksgiving morning since I was cooking all morning and preparing food since yesterday. I was not about to make breakfast. I don't come here hardly ever but it was open and close. I was hoping things would have changed over the years. 2 crepes combo 2 eggs over hard with hash browns add onion green pepper and tomatoes... let's unpack this order.. crepes were cold like not even lukewarm and drowning in strawberry sauce. Eggs were cooked to perfection the only thing I'd ever order here in the event someone kidnaps me and feed me while unconscious. The hash browns didn't have any of the extras I requested the waitress took my hash brown back brought it back out with my extras sitting on top of my the old hash brown she took away. Went to IHOP to get some brunch-type food. I got the Nashville hot chicken waffles, and I was very disappointed. The chicken was heavily coated in Nashville hot seasoning, almost to the point where it was nearly inedible. There was also a lot of breading on the chicken. I would recommend you stay away from this menu item at this location. I also had the cinnamon bun crepes, which were really good. I also had the chicken biscuit sandwich, and that was good too. The interior was okay, but it didn't seem too different from other restaurants I've been to. The service was good, but I didn't have any issues. Overall, I had an average IHOP experience. The 'basics' were lacking, and my guests noticed too - I was embarrassed. Honestly, for this 'level' of a dining, one would expect at least basic silverware - Nope.. I like this location, its hidden but don't let the hidden location fool you, they can get just as busy as a main road location. Our server was a very efficient, energetics, petite woman. Now look, I understand you should know what you're getting into when you go to an IHOP- it's not known for being stellar, it's known for being cheap. I get it. But I put in an online order yesterday for me to go pick up- I had to go back inside THREE times because they kept messing up my order. Parts were there and parts were not. I'm picking up for a family of 3, so I'm going through all these open boxes (their lids don't close), having to check every little thing we asked for and they're still getting wrong. By the time I got home I realized they didn't even give me a single pancake for any of our orders. No gravy for the biscuits and gravy platter (which we ordered 2 of). Like how the hell can you get it so wrong- that takes effort. I'm still trying to get a refund from them, but my hopes are not high. When they finally did, we were seated right away. Now once we were seated the waitress came over in about 30 seconds and asked us if we were ready to order. We hadn't even opened our menus. We told her give us a second and come back. About a minute later she came back and asked us again. At this point I felt rushed. So I ordered the French Toast combo and my boyfriend ordered the Split Decision. The food took a little while to come out and when it did my food was wrong. We started at Denny's for our "makeup visit" and couldn't get anyone to notice us after sitting down. I was sad that we invested 10 minutes in Denny's since we could have already arrived at IHOP. Can't really speak for dining in. I ordered take out via phone around 0600hrs when they first opened. Ordered two bacon omelettes with hash browns & pancakes on the side. The lady working the register when I came in to pickup the order was very friendly. She greeted me and everything. The place was clean. They had good AC. Received the food with a good amount of condiments. Also everything was nice, hot and very well packaged. Got home and tasted the omelette and it was amazing. She brought out our soda which was as flat as if it was pouted the night before. Waited another 10min for her to return so we could send soda back in exchange for water.
