There's an ant infestation that they did NOT warn us our server quiet literally said "the ants are bad at this table" after my sister said theres ants here. the service was not the best i've seen. our server was not polite at all, she couldn't even stand at the table to take our order. not sure she got the right order because she was a bit rude about it.. the same server that's had a conversation with everyone in here except us. the guy cleaning the tables, cleaned the table we sat at with ants then proceeded to clean other tables with the same cloth. the second me and my sister walked in we had an odd feeling but we decided to stay and give it a try.. after not receiving our sliver wear she blamed me and my sister for not getting it from our ant infested table. Absolutely awful. Today I am at this location with my family and had to wait 90 minutes for substandard food. 95 minutes to get a Spicy Poblano Omelette that was bland after receipt. I will not fault the server, Johanna, she did as well as she could with the kitchen. The kitchen,however, is bordering on incompetent. 90 minutes to make an omelette when the business was nowhere near full. Others at the table had their orders messed up, after waiting 60 minutes. Just left IHOP on Stone Drive after a two hr visit to the store. Took forever to get drinks. I ask specifically what they were out of as we had heard the waitress say several times we are out of..... after bring food to the table with incomplete orders. I was told " I don't know, I'm not the manager." We should have left then. Placed our order. After an hour of waiting and having Door Dash invoked our order was brought out. This location should have stayed closed. There were a multitude of ants around the inside of the windows and the wall below them. The service was not good. The booths are in terrible condition, they have broken springs or torn seat covers. Our food tasted fine but it was served luke warm because of the service. We had stopped by on a week night so it wasn't breakfast rush situation. We counted 7 tables and 4 servers. On 2.21.22 we decided to go to this IHOP in Kingsport TN after a 5hr flight coming in from California. We may have looked a mess just being exhausted from a red eye flight. If I could give zero stars I would. Our server which I did not get here name. She was chunky with glasses and silver eyeshadow which I am sure she looks like this every time she goes to work. She gave off the impression of prejudice. Our server was very much on the rush side while ordering. She never came back and asked us if we would like a refill. The restaurant was no longer busy, after 20min I asked about our order and She stated she did not know what the hold up was and never came back to let us know. Mind you an hour has now came up I asked to speak to management and she was speechless of what was going on. I TOLD the manager WE will get a discount after a little over an hour. The bill comes and was given a $3.16 discount. I AM not happy so I went back to the manager and said OH you got the wrong discount. I gave her $20 and walked out. Went there last night with my boyfriend and my mom, the restaurant was not that busy at all. It took us a VERY long time to get our food. My bread on my sandwich was wet and soggy and my boyfriend's food was all cold. The fresh fruit bowl I got was soured. The restaurant was dirty and while we were waiting for our food, one of the waitresses was standing next to us cleaning off a table telling another employee about how a table only gave her a $4 tip and they were complaining because their food was cold, and if it had been up to her they wouldn't have gotten any food at all. Our waitress had very bad hygiene, her clothes smelled like she had a lot of animals in the house and they hadn't been washed in a long time. Staff was wandering around at the back of the restaurant goofing off and talking. They all looked very dirty and unprofessional. On top of all that, they sat a table of Mexicans next to us with 3 toddlers and they allowed them to scream at the top of their lungs and bang on the table with cups the entire duration of our visit. I've only been here twice. Both time service has been okay, nothing exceptional, nothing bad. I feel the menu is a bit pricey, but I'm getting old. (Still expect prices like at my first Denny's waitressing job 30 years ago!) Portions are nice size. My 11 year old loves going here. I've eaten there a few times and it was decent. But that last time I visited, they had a special celebrating their 57th birthday, a short stack (three) of pancakes for 57 cents. I thought I"ll get a decent meal cheap this time, normally I spent 12-14 bucks to eat at IHOP, which is okay. I order the 57 cents short stack of pancakes, a side of bacon, and a side of hash browns, and I drank two glasses of milk, one before the meal and a second one when it arrived. The food was good, I don't take issue with that. The service was good. My order arrived, and the first thing I know was how SMALL the short stack of pancakes looked on a regular plate. They were barely 5 inches in diameter, where normally the pancakes actually cover the plate, being close to NINE inches in diameter. I thought, how cheesy, special on short stack of pancakes for 57 cents and they make tiny little pancakes instead of the usually huge pancakes I've come to expect at IHOP. The bacon and hash browns were good. I get my ticket and it's 12 dollars and change and I thought, I was getting this meal cheap because of the special, how can it be 12+ bucks. They charged me 2.39 EACH for the two glasses of milk. I understand there's no refills on milk, but come on, 2.39 each is gouging. They no doubt pay no more than 2 bucks for a gallon of milk, and a gallon is 10 glasses of milk meaning they make 23.90 for serving a gallon of milk. That's just gouging because they can do it, and it shows even more disrespect for the customer than the cheesy tiny little pancakes for 57 cents. And then the side order were almost 3 bucks each, come on now, 3 slices of back for almost a dollar each, and I think the hash browns were about 2.79. If I had known that, I would been better off ordering one of the three pancakes and 2 sides combinations for 6.99 or something and would have paid about the same price and I would have been served full size pancakes instead. Overall, this is an instance where they showed in several ways how they don't care about the customer. I did their survey after the meal, and I they emailed me a coupon for some free pancakes. It expired two weeks later. Wonderful. And they wonder why customers are cynical? read more
