Came in Sunday 2/18 around 1:45 in the afternoon. The host was the best part of our experience here. Our server, Gerry (not sure how to spell it since she wasn't wearing a name tag), was very inattentive. She took our drink order, a decaf coffee and a Dr. Pepper, and told me she was going to grab me a water after she dropped it off. She never did bring me my water, and as an avid decaf drinker, I can tell you my first cup of coffee was not decaf. It has a signature taste that this one did not have. She took our order, about ten minutes goes by and both of our drinks are empty. We don't get refills until the food comes out, another five to ten minutes. I ordered a BYO omelette with bacon, cheddar cheese, peppers and onions, and fresh tomatoes. My omelette came out without bacon or tomatoes on it. My husbands biscuit sandwich fell apart immediately, was dry, and both of our meals were lukewarm. We heard them call hot food many times before it came out. The server walked by after another five or so minutes, and we had to flag her down to tell her my omelette was incorrect. No apology, just said ok and grabbed it and walked away. Then she had to come back and ask me what I ordered, I'm assuming because she didn't remember and didn't write it down. The remake was piping hot, but again was wrong. Cheese wasn't even melted, and the tomatoes were not the fresh ones I requested. The bacon was limp and barely cooked. At this point we had been there an hour and were upset. Drinks stayed empty for an extended period of time, and she didn't pre-bus our table until closer to the end. She didn't come by to ask if my remake was correct, didn't even ask if the food tasted okay when she came around the first time. Overall she lacked in the basic steps of service. We would've been much more understanding about the food had the service not sucked this terribly. Mind you, she only had one other table for the majority of our time there. At the end, she took our card, and then we watched her stand there with it and chit chat with a coworker for a minute before bringing it back to us. On our way out the door, we could see her on the server line texting away on her phone, while another tables food sat in the window right in front of her. The servers cared more about being cut and doing their side work than their customers. We watched other tables, both our servers and others, who were being neglected. Our servers other table was talking about how their order came out incorrect as well. We now see why this IHOP is only rated two stars and would rather make the drive to the Lafayette IHOP than come here. read more

Sorry people. I love IHop, but this place is not what it used to be. The place looks typical on the outside, inside it looks like a pet store just moved out of the building. It is terrible inside. The place isn't the oldest place in town, but it looks like it is trying to be. The food isn't hot. Food is dry, poor quality, if they have what you order. Staff is wearing their pants down around their butts. Uniforms look shabby & unwashed. Unprofessional, at best. Bad experience. I travel the country and just like any other chain restaurant, the food is consistent. I've never understood why IHOP gets mediocre reviews. Perhaps from people who go there to get food other than breakfast food? I go there for breakfast, not hamburgers. The one thing I like about IHOP is that they make omelets the way God intended. Cook the eggs then put the ingredients on top then fold over so the extras are INSIDE the omelet. This particular IHOP went the lazy way and mixed the ingredients up with the eggs and folded over. I can't stand that. Then the waffle I ordered was as soft as the pancakes and raw on the inside. Waffles are supposed to be crispy on the outside. These were not. I haven't been to an IHOP late at night since I was in college and we made it a nightly thing, but it appears not a lot has changed. In Kokomo on a Friday night, there aren't a whole lot of options for late-night dining, so IHOP became our choice when faced with that or...well, nothing else. I was impressed to see two (off-duty?) police officers hanging out in booths, no doubt to keep the peace should the teenagers get rowdy. The staff was friendly, helpful and efficient, but the food was...well, not good. Our mozzarella sticks were overcooked and teetering on the edge of being burnt. The lady at the next table, obviously put off by the state of her mozzarella sticks as well, sent them back to have a fresh batch cooked. I should've done the same, but I was so exhausted from being up after midnight that I just ignored it and ate it. My chicken sandwich was so bad I am hesitant to even use the word food to describe it. Like the mozzarella sticks before it, it was burnt within moments of its life, drenched in a sauce that may have been scooped out of a sewer, and garnished with two pieces of wilted lettuce (yum!). I know it's hard to judge a restaurant by its late-night offerings, but considering that this is IHOP and one of their claims to fame is the fact that they're open 24/7, I find it hard to find a whole lot that's good about my experience coming here. read more

DONT EVEN BOTHER! I have tried eating in the restaurant and ordering delivery. Each time it's a severe disappointment! I love their pancakes and the one in Indy is great. This one is just NOT. When we ate inside it took almost an hour to get our food. When I ordered delivery they said they received my order but it never showed up. After waiting until 30 minutes after their expected delivery time I called them. They said they couldn't get a driver and refunded my money. Hello! Communication??? The waitress checked on our table twice In that time. the rest of the time she was talking to the only cook they had in the kitchen, loudly, and most of the time complaining. That was the reoccurring excuse for all issues that were raised. They were not busy... maybe 8 tables in the restaurant were occupied. Free pancakes to benefit charity is a great idea. Obviously the service from the waitress was a little weak, but when your order is all going to donation what do you expect as far as service. Our waitress was nice, but was not around much to help us. We still left a tip because she obviously gave us service because we got our free pancakes. Great idea for supporting charity. read more
