My goodness. My partner wanted breakfast on his birthday and we were in a rush so we stopped here on the way home. The parking and location is easy to find. The staff were pleasant. The inside looked renovated. I loved the open floor. The place smelled moldy and mildewish. Even the rag they used to clean the table which was dirty smelled dirty. I just felt sticky and dirty the entire time. The food came out in a reasonable time however it was so nasty. The pancakes were okay but they were dry. I introduced myself as Deaf when I arrived. The waiter showed a lack of awareness and expected me to read her lips, which is not acceptable. Staff should be trained on how to communicate with Deaf customers, such as being prepared with a paper and pen to way to communicate. I ordered the sirloin steak tips and eggs. The steak was extremely disappointing -- I would rate it 1/10. It tasted overly sweet, and I don't know what was added to it. I took five bites and couldn't finish it. The scrambled eggs were also unpleasant. Wasted! I ordered sweet lemonade, but it tasted like strawberry syrup instead of real strawberry flavor. I was very disappointed and felt like I wasted $20. It's an IHOP. I guess the last time I even went to one was a really long time ago. I would say a couple of years ago or more. So this review will be quick. I came here with some friends after a hike at Stone Mountain. I ordered the Colorado Omelette, and it was okay. There's just nothing too crazy or amazing about it and it was decent. The service at this IHOP was alright as well. There was a lot of people and it was busy. The food menu has gotten larger since the last time I went to an IHOP, so there's that. I kind of think if you're in Atlanta, Waffle House is probably the place I would rather go to. Anyways, the goal for me was to get an omelette that had the most meat on it, and the Colorado was the winner for me. It was alright and kind of fills the hunger. Needed a quick bite to eat before heading to Easter Service, upon entering you are required to wet a mask. Once we got in we were seated right away. Our server Kelli A. greeted us and proceeded with our drink order. I got a coffee as well as a white milk which they offer small and or large. After viewing the menu I realize they have a lot of options. I opted for a breakfast sampler which consisted of 2 eggs, 2 bacon, 2 sausage, 2 pieces of ham, 2 pancakes and hash browns. Our server was very friendly and attentive, the southern hospitality is top notch! The place was empty when we arrived at 6:30pm on a Saturday night. We were one of two tables, and our meal still had several errors in it. My husband ordered steak medium rare with creamy Mac and cheese and crispy breakfast potatoes. He got a well done steak with mashed potatoes and straight up boxed mac and cheese, that's just sad. I ordered country fried steak and over-easy eggs. I got scrambled eggs and they were runny. I think it's a lazy kitchen. Also the bathrooms were a MESS. I saw the manager just chilling in a booth the whole time we were there. Like....what a joke! Get up and hold your kitchen to better standards, or pick up a broom and clean up your bathrooms. This is good to go when you are in the mood for pancakes. Right now they have the all you can eat pancakes with any egg order. Whenever I go here I always order the eggs so it is a win win. Customer service-they could use work. The waitress don't appear to be that friendly. Just there to do their job and that's pretty much it. They do come and check on you from time to time but not frequently. I think if the restaurant is empty they would spend more time visiting your table. This is not the case. I placed an online order for IHOP Stone Mountain Hwy LILBURN 4205 Stone Mountain Hwy LILBURN, GA 30047 (770) 736-0554 at about 615am for pickup at 645am. Order #: 96927236 When my wife got there they claimed I did not enter the order. My wife called me and I gave them the order number, then they claimed it was an invalid number. As I look at the email from Ihop and told them I have the order confirmed, they then said I must have selected another store. I then read the store address out and phone number, the manager then claimed I must have done something wrong. In total shock I asked for someone that was competent. They refused to identify the General Manager or provide any contact information for the GM. (Thats against company policy). After 10 more minutes she then disappeared into a room and came back with the order, claiming it must have been a computer glitch. First IHOP should never blame the customer. Its always the companies fault. Secondly, when provided the order number, USE iT TO PULL UP THE ORDER. Dont blame the customer. The manager on duty is not capable of working with customer. Where do I begin, I have lived in this area for 14 years, and this location is always hit or miss. I went there to have some breakfast, the server never approach the table, we were served by the hostess. Then she walks up behind me and tries to slip the receipt on the table, she never said hello, she never introduced herself, she never asked if I need anything, nothing. I completed my meal then took the receipt up front to pay the bill. I was then told that my server had to take care of it. I told the woman that I have no idea who the server is because she never introduced herself. I certainly don't consider IHOP much of a great place to get a meal after working a 14 hour day, but I need to take a minute to say this location is excellent. Maria was the only hostess, server and also bussing tables. She always had a smile and never lost track of any of her guests. I ordered the chicken fried steak, scrambled eggs, hashbrowns and pancakes. When my food came out, I was very impressed. I'm particularly picky about my scrambled eggs, as I consider myself to be the best scrambled egg maker there ever was. These were spot on. Not over cooked, not under. Zero burning of any edges. They were consumed first. The hashbrowns were perfect. The steak was cooked as well as a frozen plank could be. The pancakes were the best I've ever had from IHOP. Maria even brought out hot maple syrup without me even asking. I finished my meal...all of it, and lingered a bit finishing my coffee. When Maria again asked if there was anything more she could do, I asked to visit with her manager. Mike came over and sat with me a while, and I explained all of my experience to him. I know how important it is to receive great feedback in the restaurant business. I hope Maria and the cooks in the kitchen get their due credit. The hostess, she said her name is Shänna, not sure how to spell it, she never stopped moving. She greeted everyone with a good morning smile, and got them seated as soon as a clean table was available. There was always a clean table available, because she along with every other staff member on the floor bussed all the tables. I was very impressed by the level of teamwork with this group. I was sat in Valda's section, and she was very pleasant and very quick. I ordered the Split Decision breakfast. As before, the hot maple syrup was brought out without requesting it. As I sat sipping my coffee, I watched how the other servers around me interacted with their guests. Jasmine to my left was notably impressive as well. Maria, my server from the other night was there, and as usual moving quick with a smile and took the time to come by to say hello. My food came out in a timeframe expected with the amount of people ordering. Again, the cheesy eggs were spot on. The French toast was great. I'm not Bacon's biggest fan, but I'll eat it. If I must say one thing on the downside, the pancakes were over done a bit, but definitely not bad. I am again impressed with the kitchen staff here. I will acknowledge that this must be the product of a great leadership team at the top. When a team has great leaders, everyone wins, especially the guests. Tried ordering online and it kept saying call the order in. I called the order in and explained that it wouldn't work although my gf sitting next to me ordered her food and it worked. We both had a coupon code for 20% off. When I called she said we could add the promo code at checkout. Got there and spoke two ppl I assumed to be managers. One said something totally different than the other. But basically the coupon code was refused. I was told they don't use coupons at that location. Now when I say I have used them a thousand times at that exact place along with the person I went with because we both live down the street! We are always seated quickly and served quickly even if they are busy. On two separate occasions I've had a waitress and waiter take our entire order for memory and get it right.
