iHop as a chain is decent, this particular location is constantly understaffed. We went in for a Saturday brunch recently. The place was pretty empty however we still had to wait for a booth. No big deal, we were ready to wait for some pancakes & what not. We get our booth and the wait begins. By the time our waitress came around we ordered our drinks & food at the same time. About 40 minutes goes by & our waitress stops by and says "I'm sorry it's taking so long, we're going to give you a discount". No worries, discounts on iHops signature American breakfast?? Awesome, right? Wrong. Another 10-15 minutes goes by, she arrives once more and tells us "the meal is going to be free, our cooks are a little short". I didn't understand what the cooks height had to do with anything. I am joking. We knew we were in for another one of iHOP's classic 'way too understaffed' type of days. We're not a bunch of crusty boomers who can't deal with a wait, we just wanted our pancakes. When we finally got our food, it was very chewy & burnt. My waffle was practically a hockey puck, the bacon was burnt, it was what I would call "edible". We didn't get our sides of hash browns, the upgraded strawberry pancakes, the waitress even took my chocolate milk away! I will not be returning to iHOP. I've been to this location many times and I am always left disappointed, hungry, and wanting more. Please iHop corporate, this is a new location in a bustling New England metropolitan area - hire some competent management. You can make so much money as there are very few breakfast places. The waitress told us the manager wasn't even in that day - a Saturday on Valentines Day Weekend! I know you can do better to make your house of pancakes feel more like a home. It was not one of my best experiences in an IHOP. The server was amazing she was out of her way to make sure Our coffee cups are always full we had enough water she came back a couple times and checked on us. But unfortunately I wasn't totally impressed with the meal I really thought of the bacon would have more flavor I got the special bacon that they had on the menu however the bacon was it tasted just like a slice of ham if I wanted ham I would've ordered ham there was no sweetener taste to it like it is described in the menu it was actually kind of bland. Also I got scrambled eggs and they tasted of kind of funny so I didn't finish them I realized after I looked at the menu that they add in their pancake batter to their scrambled eggs I guess to make them fluffy or something but it just leaves a weird taste in your mouth after you eat them. My friends thought their meal was OK but really was wondering if it wasn't supposed be better. Probably won't go to this IHOP again for a while. Let's wait and see if things get better. I do go to other IHOP's that are typically my regular spots and I've never had problems either one of those so I'm gonna wait and see if this one just gets better.. read more

After they first opened this location I ate the chicken fried steak with eggs or mashed potatoes. Always good. I moved to the next town and just got back this way and ordered my usual. I had way over cooked chicken and the gravy which a always get extra off was milk colored water. Did you run out? It was disgusting. Today, my family and I decided to go to IHOP after a very disappointing experience at a local, popular restaurant on Depot St. These are two very different restaurants, but the food was good, the waitress was, and we were created warmly. Yes, IHOP can be slow, and I've experienced that side of the business, but today they weren't. After, we thanked our server for he hospitality and left her a very nice tip. Chain establishments and locally tun one's really can't be compared for menus, but our food was good. What impressed me was the hospitality. Our party of 50+ arrived for a team breakfast following a Saturday morning soccer tournament. Our server Sophia had her work cut out for her, single-handedly managing to keep a team of hungry 16-yr old boys and their families satisfied, but she knocked it out of the park! Every one of us received our orders correctly and everything was delicious! Certainly no easy task to handle a party of our size all at once, but Sophia was a total rock star! She kept a smile on her face and worked her butt off the entire time we were there. Absolutely demonstrated grace under pressure and exemplified how to deliver exceptional service. IHOP just opened in the former Friendly's building right along Route 109 in Milford, minutes from Milford Center and even closer to Exit 19 off I-495. And it was just about time.... the closest IHOP to here, in Framingham, is a good 25 minutes or longer to get to, so it's definitely much more convenient to have one in this area. Large parking area, not busy, and pleasant interior. It's a bit smaller than most other IHOP restaurants I've been to, which could only possibly be an issue during busy times. They upgraded this space nicely though.... it's much cleaner than during Friendly's tenure in this space. Staff and management are especially friendly, efficient, and professional. I had been sent via email that was only supposed to be used at another IHOP... the manager gladly accepted it. Food was standard IHOP fare, was very quick, and was just an overall pleasant experience. -1 star only for the small interior and the extremely sticky menus. Those did not seem new and everyone at my table was grossed out by how there was seemingly syrup all over them! 4 stars. IHOP is surely welcome to Milford, and I think they will provide better and more necessary service than Friendly's ever did! read more

We went in the other day for lunch. One waitress was on. The place was nearly empty about 4 tables of people. The air conditioning was sooo cold and people were complaining. We looked at what was being served to the people there - their plates - none seemed appealing and there seemed to be little food when the plates came out. The waitress was thinking she was doing a good job... and there you have it. We walked out. It was dirty. Tables weren't set up or cleaned. Usually things are in place when you go into any restaurant - they were all over the table. It seems to run by kids who just didn't care. Sad. Such an opportunity for a great IHOP... but, the regional director or the manager seems to have checked out. Four of us went here for dinner two nights ago at about 7:30. We were the only ones in the restaurant. The only server was a high school kid who was nice enough but not very competent. Whoever was doing the cooking was way worse. It took forever for our food to come out. Then it took forever to get butter for those that had ordered pancakes or waffles. My husband asked for sugar-free syrup which we always get at IHOP. The server said 'sure' then came back saying they didn't have any. I had ordered the chicken strips but was served the chicken breast instead. That was fine....until I cut into it. The inside was completely raw! When I told our server, his response was "Damn. That IS raw." Also, the broccoli was not cooked, the mac & cheese was cold, even the gravy was cold! I sent the whole thing back and he said he would bring the chicken strips (since I said that was what I had ordered). 15-20 minutes later, he did indeed come back with chicken strips - ON THE SAME PLATE AND WITH THE SAME BROCCOLI AND MAC & CHEESE AS BEFORE! This is the worst IHOP I've ever been to. We've come 3x and so far every time has included significant delays being seated, being served and major issues with service. This past time they quoted us a 25-30 min wait and the restaurant was understaffed and the kitchen was admittedly backed up beyond the wait time they were quoting. The last time we went we asked them to put in my toddlers food first, and they said they did, but his food came out 10+ mins after the rest of our tables food. Employees don't care and there is no management in sight to help talk to customers and set expectations. It's embarrassing a place with historically good customer service and good food has such subpar locations. Stay away if you value your time. read more

I LOVE Ihop so I was excited to learn they had a new location near me. Decided to get a waffle while my husband has an appointment. Walked in and place was very clean but ZERO customers. Two women were seated in the corner and one had an Ihop shirt so I am guessing they were employees... The counter had a sign that said wait to be seated so I stood there. No one was at the counter but the women kept looking over at me. After a few minutes, I got out my cell and CALLED the restaurant thinking that would bring someone to the front counter. I stood there with my phone listening to the restaurant phone ring about 3 feet from me. No one answered No one came to the front desk and the women just looled at me. After about 6 rings, I hung up and called again. For the second time, no one came to the desk and no one answered the phone. I understand that this place opened a few months ago, but realistically, please retrain the staff. The host merely put down the menus and left without saying a word.. I ordered the app sampler intended as an "app"; server thought it was my main meal so had to retract my wording... which I was afraid of because the food timings wasn't spaced out and got everything within 5 minutes of the two separate order runs, so the table was filled with food at the same time. Food runner had to ask me if this is what I ordered twice.. so I'm assuming they aren't 100% knowledgeable on table numbers? Server was non-existent for the most part. No pre-bussing. Check came and I caught on an extra addition which never came.. server lost points by putting blame on the runner. Gained it back by comping.
