Solid place for build your own poke. We have ate at many authentic Hawaiian poke places throughout the country (including HI) and this place suffices for Central MA. They have ample parking, online ordering, and dole whip if you're into that. If you decide to visit during weekday lunch hour, parking gets pretty busy--so watch out. There's a Starbucks nearby so watch out for the crazy coffee hunters screaming through the parking lot. There's a Chipotle in the same plaza too so watch out for those DoorDashers and college kids tearing up the streets. There's a daycare within the plaza too so folks, please take it easy. Yes, going on a rant a bit but wanted to emphasize those items there. We always go with spicy tuna and it meets the needs of hunger. If you're into brown rice, they do it right at Island Fin. Many other places, brown rice tends to be dry as the Sahara. But you'll be good here. Dining in during lunch is chill enough. Good seating. I was looking for a place that I can order ahead, set a pickup time, and quickly get food within a small window for a work meeting. Island Fin Poke was very convenient with the online ordering on their website. It was my first time here and I was excited to try it out. I chose to build my own Spicy Tuna Pokebowl and the online selections made it very easy. There were also a variety of add-on options to compliment the entree. I chose white rice and spring mix, spicy tuna, furikaki, corn, OG sauce, cucumber, togarashi, sesame seed, chili flake, sea salt, crispy onion, roasted garlic, and Nori strip. Keep in mind that all bowls come with 3 scoops of protein of your choice. I couldn't leave the order without also getting a Dole Whip Cup! I got the Orange flavor to try out. I drove to the location and the store was nestled inside a nice plaza with large parking lot. I was able to park right up front. I went inside to pick up my food at my selected time of 12:00 pm. They were just finishing up dispensing the Dole Whip into the cup. They were right on time! Note: you can specify curbsideside pickup on their website or even call when you arrive and they'll bring it to your car. The pokebowl turned out to be absolutely delicious and filling! I like a little heat/spice, so the Spicy Tuna Poke was perfect. The Orange Dole Whip was a great way to end the meal. I definitely recommend ordering from here with the order ahead option and selecting the most convenient pickup time for you. I've been wanting to check this place out for awhile and finally got a chance to today! Masks are required and there are four outdoors tables. You pick your base and protein and toppings in sort of an assembly line fashion. We went at the lunch hour so they were working on online orders in between in-person customers. It looks like they are doing great business during the pandemic. The owner explained what different flavor each of the sauces were since my "poke artist" was a little newer. Everything tasted super fresh... I liked this place better than Atlantic Poke in Shrewsbury. There are so many choices that anyone is bound to be happy with the final product. The kind lady was so nice to give me extra seaweed salad (I love seaweed salad). By the way, the OG veggie mix is BRILLIANT. Would go back just for that. I was also given a free sample of the Dole soft serve. They were so nice because I mentioned I wanted to try it but definitely could not finish an order, so they brought the sample over. With that being said, there's now three very valid reasons to come here: Delicious poke, delicious VEGAN soft serve, and quite exceptional service. 5/5 would recommend. Super cute new place in what's apparently called the "trolley yard" in northern worcester. They're on the west side of the lot, they do have a sign but it's kinda small I think! They have about 8 protein options, and some mix ins that basically make sushi in a bowl! All the good stuff without the fuss. Also just a welcomed option on this SUPER hot July weekend. We made two make ur own bowls- a spicy tuna with a savory take, and a salmon with a sweet take and enjoyed both. I think I'd like it with a little more filler tho - like some mixed veggies in the future (base is either lettuce or rice, whether or not it's considered "authentic" (and no, in my mind the "OG veggies" I.e onions and jalapeños don't count). There is corn, edamame, mango, pineapple, onions, seaweed salad for filler, but most of the options albeit good - are really only about a dozen sauces, crunchy toppings, nori, sesame seeds, crunchy garlic etc. for $12 for 3 scoops of protein (found out after u can mix and match them) it's not a bad deal. either way though, everything was yummy, the staff are super friendly, and they came around with samples of dole whip... which we couldn't resist. They always have pineapple, and then rotate another of ~8 flavors. This month was yummy strawberry. $4 for a huge serving. Super needed on these hot summer days! Poke sushi is exactly what I wanted tonight and I didn't even know it. Island Fin Poke is the concept of going to a burrito bar where you select all the ingredients you want.... but instead it's a sushi restaurant doing the same thing with sushi ingredients. All my favorite ingredients are here: octopus, seaweed salad, spicy ahi tuna, jalapeños, pickled ginger, edamame, picked veggies, nori... and all sorts more. If these ingredients scare you, don't worry they have more "normal" ingredients like chicken, shrimp and more commonplace ingredients. It's like getting 4 premium sushi rolls for the price of one. I love their poke especially their togarashi sauce. It kills the boring flavor on the salmon since they dont have spicy salmon options. But what they need to improve is the bowl size (not consistent). I came here several times and always order the same thing and find out sometimes my bowl is in a good size. Sometimes is only half bowl. My advice is they need to train their employees to keep the bowl always the same amount ALL THE TIME. Because its $12 bowl which is kinda pricey.
