GO TO WEST MONROE! Monroe has the sorriest ihop in the world!! They treat customers trash. They can't remember orders, 4 customers came to the counter, the person that took the order couldn't remember, Trina, then claimed the customer lying about what they had. No cashier, everybody is the cashier. It wasn't that packed to say I had to wait 45 minutes for a to order when I had ordered it 30 minutes prior to me getting there. NEVER have this problem in West Monroe. There cursing in front of children and I mean dropping the F word at that. Why is is this establishment still open with such bad reviews and bad service. Food was Ok, but service was very bad. Manger treated employees like they were inmates. It took 25 minutes to get a waitress and over a hour to get food. There were about 10 to 15 people that left before getting their food. Other Customers said they would never come back. Very noisy, the Manger kept screaming at the employees. We were outta town, saw this IHOP and decided to eat here. From the moment we walked in til we finished eating and headed out, it was very pleasant fast friendly service and very delicious food!! Awful. Only 3 tables seated including our family of three. There are currently 3 tables that have not been bussed yet and we have been here for almost an hour. It's obvious that there is no intention to clean them off until close. Breakfast should be quick. Waitress had to come back 3 times to ask us about our order, which was not complicated or customized. Update. They just bussed one but not the other ones. Busser couldn't even stand while bussing. Sat lazily in one of the chairs while making all kinds of racket cleaning off the plates and moving like Eeyore. Coffee was the worst I've ever tasted and I'm not picky at all. Well...Normally IHOP has wonderful service and even better food. Sadly this was not the case for this location. It was around 10am, we had to be somewhere around 11 so we decided to call in our breakfast order. When picking it up we noticed the place was super busy and multiple people were waiting. A couple got seated and we saw a man walk up to the front who asked where his place in line was and the host laughed and responded "i couldn't read your name so I skipped down to the next person". (It was a handwritten list) We also heard the same worker tell his coworker not to answer the d--- phone when it rang. Worst food ever. Lobster bisque was off; it just didnt taste right, texture was all wrong. The lobster tail was absolutely disgusting and not even edible. The shrimp linguini had no flavor at all. There were only 3 tables of people, yet service was extremely slow. Staff was friendly. We were in town for the ball game and based on the crowd, I think the locals are know better than to eat there. Waited forever for a seat before we actually left, a bit over 30 minutes on a weekday afternoon. The employees just didn't seem like they had it together. They were just yelling at each other and fighting in the kitchen instead of clearing tables and getting people in and out. I don't know what it is about IHop lately but many of them have just gone down hill. Long waits, bad food, and horrible service across the board. This place is SERIOUSLY lacking proper employee training. The person that took our order "really" needs to wear gloves, as her obvious skin condition overshadowed her waiting on us. The slow response from the waitress after we were seated was 13 minutes and there were only 2 other tables occupied. The arguing between staff, that was going on in the back area, TOTALLY made us question if we wanted to stay and eat. The food was very good but the concerns about sanitation issues were overwhelming. My husband, myself and my son stopped for breakfast at 8am we had to drop my son at the airport at 9:30. at 8:30 they brought my son's breakfast. It was cold. 1st time my husband and I ate here I bypassed the smell thinking maybe it's just the front area food was okay that day. Next time my girls and I arrived there the second we walked in it smelt horrible. We plan looked at each other and we're thinking the same thing. Went the day after Christmas and had the worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant. Our first server was visually pissed off that we were sitting in her section and paid more attention to the other tables that were of color. The rest of our party arrived and we didn't have anyone stop by our table for 15 or more minutes when finally a new server came over and started serving us poorly as well, while our previous server served her other tables. We had to ask for refills and never got some of the things we asked for, of course that's when we actually saw her. There were plenty of empty tables so it wasn't like she was swamped. Got up to go to the restroom and there was our server chatting away with another coworker and on her phone in the foyer of the lobby! Needless to say will never stop there again. I ordered chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes. The potatoes came out on the side with no gravy. My steak didn't even have enough gravy to cover it with a thin coat. This is one of the best IHOP's I have ever been to. One of waitresses was so helpful and had memorized our order and the orders were all correct and no mistakes were made. She also continued to check on our table to make sure everything was alright. I don't know why most people have given this restaurant 2 stars because the employees there were so kind and helpful. If you get this waitress please make sure to give her a generous tip. We can tell that this young lady will go on to be a great waitress and do even bigger things. Sitting behind us in the booth I noticed the ladies were having to ask for to go boxes several times and had to have their ticket fixed numerous times. We placed our order after waiting forever, only to realize it would take even longer to receive only parts of our order. One of the ladies at our table didn't receive her coffee until after our meal had been delivered. When we told her we no longer wanted the coffee she got an attitude and said my gosh I apologized when clearly she hadn't! How freaking embarrassing for the entire community. The male hostess is wearing a serving apron, when he turns around his entire backside is out--sorry but put him in the kitchen where he is hidden from the public eye. The phone has been ringing off the hook and he says "ya'll keep calling, we ain't answering." No "Hi, Welcome to IHOP." He has greeted every single party the same way as soon as they come through the double doors and before they reach his stand "Ya'll know it's a wait." No, really? They probably thought we were hanging around as door greeters. A waitress is begging for strawberries from the kitchen and being ignored, the cooks think it's funny and the manager told her to be quiet. And the other waitress--yes, there are only two, is fielding complaints that people have been at their table for an hour and have not been served. I was excited to see this location back up and running after rumors they permanently closed. It is very clear, not a single person here knows anything about service. Again, it's very embarrassing because everyone here is black except one person of Hispanic origin. We can and should do better as a community. I will fully support any business, not just black owned and operated, but my hard earned money and time will not be wasted because we can't get it together. read more

This restaurant needs some work. First the floors could use a good scrubbing and the seats need to be replaced as they are ripped. The bathroom was filthy with trash on the floors and the walls need to be power washed. The staff was nice and fast, but I wish there were positive things I could say. The hashbrowns tasted like they had been precooked then heated up in the microwave. The omelet, and I use the term loosely, was a stack of precooked fried eggs with chunks of bacon and cheese thrown on top. The oat nut pancakes were a little burnt, too. This is the worst IHOP I have eaten at. I ordered the country fried steak with hash browns and eggs. The steak was worse than Great Value steaks. My hash browns was late and under cooked and tasted like grease. I was only able to eat half my meal. We were given booth seats that were broke. Had to find a spot that did not sag. Outside was nasty with more grease than their food. Employees parked in the Handicapped and take out reserved parking. I will never go back there again. FIRE THE MANAGEMENT!!!!! read more
