Turkey on wholegrain
Rose D.

Ihop is Ihop and this location is no different although I was pleasantly surprised to see a healthy option beside salad on the menu. I ordered a turkey breast sandwich on wholegrain bread with mustard L&T. My waiter was even gracious enough to bring me more of the grilled turkey when I showed him the scarce amount on the sandwich. I enjoyed my meal.

Breakfast for Dinner! :)

IHOPped into a terrific Tiffany proving her veteran waitstaff superiority in one simple statement tonight at the Oceanside location. 'Why just pick one style when you can split your order 2 by 2 to have both at the same price'. Nothing like knowing this is an option at this establishment. As an ex-waitress myself for many years in a family friendly restaurant chain...only those who truly care about customer service and satisfying any/all clientel would quickly give a solution that also helps their establishment with a slight up sell...on a take out order at that...with ease ;) Yes, takeout tip $$ worthy! Total brownie points if I were one of those secret shoppers. She was super friendly, efficient and was even smart enough to carefully, late at night to make sure all was packaged just right. All needed items down to utensils were bagged, nothing a miss or had to be requested. She made sure without asking to package all toppings separately, so by the time you got home you weren't facing a mushy, sloppy mess. Fluffy pancakes still hot and intact with their accompanying fillings: caramel toffee and cheesecake flavored mousses. I opted to order a side of their tasty shredded style Hashbrowns; half order (2x) of the English Sticky Toffee Pancakes & half order (2x) of the NY Cheesecake Pancakes. Can you say breakfast for dinner and dessert! Both tasted great and weren't too sweet, maybe because I was controlling the amount of extra caramel sauce, strawberry and whipped toppings that were to be drizzled on. Fluffy tasty goodness, with plenty left over for breakfast & lunch tomorrow. All in all a quick super easy score with very little waiting time in the 8pm hour. Think I'm going to keep this location in mind for those late night breakfast for dinner cravings. Note they also have burger like offerings on the dinner portion of their menu. So regardless what time you go, there is something for everyone around the table. Tip: If you are also a Groupon+ participant this location offered a 30% off 1st visit, then 10% each additional visit till accepted offer expires. For 2+ meals for me about $14 in the end after cost of goods, tax and tip for great service, it doesn't get better than that. :)

Chicken tenders with waffle. And the breakfast sampler that came with sausage, bacon, 2 eggs, hash brown and a waffle.

The breakfast sampler usually comes with pancakes but they charged us extra since my bf wanted waffles instead. The chicken tenders were crispy and well done. The food was great and the provided us with everything we needed.

Had a great time here for lunch with the kids. They all had pancakes and I had a jalapeños, avacados and tomatoes omelette. Very picante! Delicious and fun. The server, Lorena was patient and friendly with the kids (who can be quite loud and active). Chris at the front was excellent managing to keep social distancing without creating a long wait time. The kitchen was good too, they made me a great omelette. Overall an A+ for this IHOP.

Burger, poorly assembled. And sampler breakfast in the back.

Food is okay. I got the western burger and my friend got the breakfast sampler. The burger was quite tasty although the bun was kind of dry. The fries were crispy, no complaints. My friends food was very greasy, not nasty but just too fatty tasting. It's good if you're in the mood for diner food, that's really all it is. Our server, Robert, was very nice and attentive. He checked in on us a few times and quickly brought anything we needed.

Coffee is a morning necessity.

This was a friendly really nice IHOP! We have a great time eating the red velvet pancakes with the yummy egg white steak omelet. Great wait staff too!

Ever since the leave had a fire and was redone it's never been the same. The food is lacking. The service is horrible. My last trip I ordered banana Nutella crepes (see photo). My food arrived. The first two bites were just crepe. Knowing that sometimes the ends don't get filling I went right to the middle of the crepes. They give you two criss crossed over one another. Well there was some warm banana in it but no Nutella. I tried a few other spots on each crepe after laying flat next to each other. Nope. Nothing. Nada. So basically they made crepes. Through a few pieces of banana in the hot crepe. Rolled it up. Squeezed Nutella over the top, laid some warm bananas down on top and sprinkled with powdered sugar. Like it was some masterpiece. Smh. My 2 year old niece was done with her food and I honestly was so pissed off I didn't want any other food from them. So when the waiter came by I told him my issue. He said oh no ma'am that's how they are made. Trust me I know. When I said that's not how they're made. The filling is supposed to be in the crepe and that when I had it at another IHOP it was made right. He continued to say no no that's way it's made. He went to ring me up and the manager walked over to him and the waiter told him what happened. The manager said oh she gave you the card don't take it off then. Oh well. He had to m or I was in earshot. Needless to say I won't go back here ever again.

It's the "sister" restaurant to EGP Land and Sea in Island Park, NY--and honestly, both spots deserve your business. EGP Oceanside is a big step up from your typical local pub. The food quality, presentation, and menu choices really speak for themselves. On my last visit, I had the French Dip from the specials menu--somehow even better than the French Onion Dip I usually go for. Mussels (Black Pearls) are always a winner. If you want to eat a little lighter, the EGP Salad with caramelized d 'Anjou pears is fantastic. Their wings can go toe-to-toe with anyone's, the burgers are crazy good, and my all-time favorite sandwich, "The Thick Chick," better never leave the menu (same goes for the Steak Tidbits). Everything is made fresh, and the owners and servers are always friendly and welcoming. In the summer, the outdoor space adds another bar and often live entertainment, which is a great bonus. Great selection of craft beers. Plus, there's plenty of parking in the back. Just a consistently great place to eat.

The French dip seemed to be the most popular item, but with a larger group, I wasn't confident it would arrive at its peak, so I decided to go a different route. I ended up ordering the blackened scallops with vegetables, and wow this dish was excellent. The Cajun seasoning was bold and flavorful, while the scallops themselves were buttery, delicate, and expertly cooked. My only small critique is that the foot (that small side muscle on sea scallops) wasn't removed. It didn't detract much from the dish, but it's always a nice touch when that's done for you. My partner ordered a salad topped with Cajun salmon, and it was phenomenal. The true standout was the salmon, cooked to a perfect medium: juicy, flavorful, and served in a generous portion. Major kudos to the kitchen for executing both dishes so well. Several others in our group ordered the French dip, and seeing those plates only confirmed that I was happy I trusted my instincts. Maybe I'll try it during a quieter lunch service someday, but it's going to be hard to pass up the scallops and salmon.

Roast beef was good, the roll tasted like it was store bought the day before and the au jus was a little on the bland side. French onion soup was just okay. I tasted a few bites of an eggs Benedict that someone else in my party ordered and that was very average as well. Home fries were a little dry and the hollandaise sauce was missing that "pop" I was looking for. The steak tidbits (which was sliced London broil) was alright but again, the hero bread it was served on tasted like it came out of a plastic bag from the grocery store and was possibly a day old (or more). The ambience of the restaurant was pretty cool and it had a rustic vibe to it. We had 2 waitresses and they were both very pleasant and attentive with drink refills and making sure we were taken care of. Overall, I left there somewhat underwhelmed. My 3 star rating is for the entire dining experience and if it wasn't for the really good service we received, I would rate them a little lower.

This spot has one of my favorite fries, but what really does it for me is the dipping sauces. The garlic mayo and pineapple sesame are what you need to get when ordering their 3 sauce medley. Use the 3rd sauce to get something that works for you, but don't just fall back on the ketchup. These fries deserve more than that. As per our servers recommendation, I got the #2. It had turkey, Brie, roasted peppers and garlic mayo. It was the most amazing pressed sandwich. Shout out for some amazing ciabatta bread.
