Guiness Espresso Martini & Corned Beef Smashburger
    Amy G.

Stopped in for lunch as I saw a St Patrick's special on their Instagram, a corned beef smash burger. The burger was so good, if you want corned beef but want a change from the traditional dish or a Reuben on St Patrick's day, I absolutely recommend getting this! I also had an Irish Whiskey Ginger Highball & a Guiness Espresso Martini. Both drinks were good, and I usually don't like Guiness but if I didn't know that was in it, I wouldn't have guessed by the taste. The staff was great and I will absolutely be back again!!

Hidden gem in Oceanside ! Food is amazing. Wings top notch and the brunch is delicious !! When you step in it's like you teleported to a tiki bar it's great. Staff always attentive and the food hasn't ever taken too long. Also, their drink menu is crafted so well.

I was excited when I passed by the Bungalow for the first time because there aren't a lot of restaurants like that in this area! I tried it recently with my husband and it hit the spot! I love a good cocktail and these were delicious! They used fresh ingredients and unique flavors. The staff were nice and attentive. I got chimichurri steak, with street corn. The street corn was delicious, the chimichurri sauce was different than I'm used to, but complimented the steak well. My husband got some kind of shredded steak or pork dish and that was delicious too! We went at an odd time, so I can't speak to how busy it gets during dinner time. They have their own parking lot, which is convenient.

It's the "sister" restaurant to EGP Land and Sea in Island Park, NY--and honestly, both spots deserve your business. EGP Oceanside is a big step up from your typical local pub. The food quality, presentation, and menu choices really speak for themselves. On my last visit, I had the French Dip from the specials menu--somehow even better than the French Onion Dip I usually go for. Mussels (Black Pearls) are always a winner. If you want to eat a little lighter, the EGP Salad with caramelized d 'Anjou pears is fantastic. Their wings can go toe-to-toe with anyone's, the burgers are crazy good, and my all-time favorite sandwich, "The Thick Chick," better never leave the menu (same goes for the Steak Tidbits). Everything is made fresh, and the owners and servers are always friendly and welcoming. In the summer, the outdoor space adds another bar and often live entertainment, which is a great bonus. Great selection of craft beers. Plus, there's plenty of parking in the back. Just a consistently great place to eat.

Roast beef was good, the roll tasted like it was store bought the day before and the au jus was a little on the bland side. French onion soup was just okay. I tasted a few bites of an eggs Benedict that someone else in my party ordered and that was very average as well. Home fries were a little dry and the hollandaise sauce was missing that "pop" I was looking for. The steak tidbits (which was sliced London broil) was alright but again, the hero bread it was served on tasted like it came out of a plastic bag from the grocery store and was possibly a day old (or more). The ambience of the restaurant was pretty cool and it had a rustic vibe to it. We had 2 waitresses and they were both very pleasant and attentive with drink refills and making sure we were taken care of. Overall, I left there somewhat underwhelmed. My 3 star rating is for the entire dining experience and if it wasn't for the really good service we received, I would rate them a little lower.

The food, however, was a bit of a mixed experience. The French onion soup was tasty on its own, but I was disappointed that it was topped with melted mozzarella instead of Gruyère cheese. Without the traditional Gruyère, it really feels more like onion soup than a classic French onion soup. The bread they bring to the table at the beginning was actually very good. Unfortunately, the fried calamari and the cauliflower crust pizza both tasted like frozen food you might buy at a supermarket. They reminded me of something from Trader Joe's rather than freshly made dishes. On the positive side, the Prosecco was excellent -- cold, bubbly, and exactly how it should be. Would I come back? Probably not. If the food tastes like frozen dishes, I could easily have that at home. That said, the total bill was around $60, so the price was reasonable and I can't be too upset about it. Was it worth trying? Yes. Would I return? Probably not -- but I'm glad I gave it a shot.

I knew Press 195 and am in love with their Bayside location. They have a solid menu including their notorious knish sandwiches and the amazing hand cut fries. This spot has one of my favorite fries, but what really does it for me is the dipping sauces. The garlic mayo and pineapple sesame are what you need to get when ordering their 3 sauce medley. Use the 3rd sauce to get something that works for you, but don't just fall back on the ketchup. These fries deserve more than that. As per our servers recommendation, I got the #2. It had turkey, Brie, roasted peppers and garlic mayo. It was the most amazing pressed sandwich. Shout out for some amazing ciabatta bread. My husband got the brisket knish sandwich, and he was comforted by the heavy meal. The kids meal was just a legit as out meals. Coming with apple slices which definitely scored points with Bubs. I also want to note that this place is also family friendly. Our server notified me of the family bathroom located in the back. What a good move and very much appreciated.

The owner and his wife are usually there working and they're both so warm and welcoming. We started with the chickpea fries with smoky hummus and the crispy tuna tartare -- both were incredible. The chickpea fries were different in the best way, perfectly crisp, and that hummus had just the right amount of smokiness. The spicy tuna hit the spot -- fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. For mains, I had the chopped gem salad, which was so fresh with the best tangy dressing -- light but full of flavor. I also ordered the lamb kebabs, but I was so full I had to take them to go. Great food, warm service, and a cozy atmosphere. We'll definitely be back!
