Visited Bareburger and had such a fun experience, especially with how decorated they are for Easter right now. The whole space is fully decked out with seasonal decor which makes it perfect for families, kids, or even a fun outing with friends. There are so many photo opportunities and the atmosphere is really lively and welcoming. We started with drinks and tried the hibiscus refresher and a dirty soda. Both were sweet, refreshing, and a great way to start the meal. For appetizers, we ordered the nachos which came loaded with jalapeños, beans, queso, sour cream, and more. Every bite had something on it and the portion was generous. We also had the mozzarella sticks which were super cheesy and came with parmesan and chipotle aioli. The sauces really elevated the dish and made it a standout. For our entrees, we had a cheeseburger that was cooked perfectly, juicy, and paired with crispy fries. We also tried the truffle Philly cheesesteak which was packed with flavor and came with a side of onion rings. Everything was well portioned and satisfying. I usually don't leave reviews unless the experience is really good or really bad, but unfortunately my visit to Bareburger in Rockville fell into the second category. I came in expecting a casual, enjoyable meal, but instead walked away shocked and disappointed. The biggest issue? I was actually served what I believe was expired beer. That's not just a small mistake -- it's completely unacceptable for any restaurant or bar, especially a brand with the reputation that Bareburger is supposed to have. The waiter honestly wasn't the problem here. He did his best to handle the situation, and I could tell he felt awkward because there wasn't much he could personally do. But the fact that something like this happened in the first place points to a much bigger issue with how this location is being managed. It makes me question how carefully they're checking dates on their drinks, and it definitely makes me wonder about the overall attention to detail in their kitchen as well. A customer should never have to second-guess whether what they're served is safe or fresh. Bareburger Rockville really dropped the ball on this one, and it turned what should have been a fun, easy dining experience into a complete disappointment. I used to love this place. I took my brother here last week so he could try their "honey brussel sprouts", and of course the burger I must say the experience yesterday (7/22/2025) was lacking. As soon as you walk in you shouldn't have to wait standing around and there's someone at the counter. I proceed to ask if it was okay for me to sit and took a table at the corner. AGAIN another 10 mins wait. Understandably the male attendant was at another table fielding heavily loaded questions about everything on the menu. I guess the lady at the counter finally realized I might want to order?!?! Shocking. I was about to leave but decided I'd order the burger and bring it home (I didn't cook ... girl's gotta eat) so I placed my order. She left water on the table but no glass to drink it out of so it was game over! I asked to have my order switched to takeout (I mean why cancel and walk out when you are begging them to take your order ... silly me) ... I ignore the eye roll and wait for the order. Good evening, the king is back in town. Today me, garbage disposal, and Doctor Bs wife decided to catch up! We walked around Rockville centre for a good 20 minutes looking for a place to satisfy our hunger. Suddenly the ogre went into outrage and we blindly ran into Bareburger. We were greeted with pleasant people and a welcoming atmosphere. When we were seated the little kid in me was filled with excitement after Pokémon was on the tv in front of us. I wish my good buddy Bezos was here to experience this.. Unfornately he had to hang out with his "Greek friends." Okay what? Greek friends? Why can't it just be friends. I thought we were friends. I wish I was Greek. When we got our water I am not joking when I say it was actual sink water. Everyone's bottle was clear and ours was mud and tasted like it. Anyways we had a good plan to get an appetizers of the guac and chips, then when our burgers came out to have a huge basket of fries for all of us to share. When the guac and chips came out, it was a disappointment. Almost every chip was stale and to get even ONE bite I had to jerk my neck back and forth like a dog to get a piece of my chip. Doctor B's wife and lard A.K.A ogre, shrek, monster, garbage disposal also agrees. Onto the entrees! Now I will say before I am a sucker for grass fed organic meats. And they had plethora selection of so called high quality meats. I also enjoyed the option for vegans with the sweet potato kale burger. Menu was definitely eye opening. Doctor B's wife and the ogre both got build your own turkey burgers on a brioche bun and then added a bunch of stuff of their liking. I enjoyed that you can choose as many veggies as you want free of charge. I ordered a grass fed beef burger on a lettuce bun with a couple veggies. They asked how I would like it cooked and I said medium. It came out well done.. Now to the reviews! Ogre: I was content with the meal. "AHHHHHHHH" Doctor B's wife: it was very pleasant but I definitely need a shower after eating there. Me: like it was alright, nothing crazy burger over cooked and like yeah. Highly recommend you get the Super Loaded Fries, those are jaw dropping and taste amazing (more than enough for a group of people, we took ours home). The office ordered from here and everything was thoroughly enjoyed. They had the Matadors and I the Duchess. Sides of cauliflower bits and fries. I was told the Matadors brought the heat and were prepared perfectly medium rare. I was stunned by the Duchess, it was prepared rare. My taste buds and eyes lead me to believe I had eaten a rare beef burger. So much so I had to call and confirm that this indeed was a plant based burger. He assured me it was a PB burger. The burger tasted like it was frozen and they just flash cooked it, I wouldn't be surprised if it was microwaved. They have signature burgers here or the option to build your own. A small touch that I loved it the waiters recommendation that we do half sweet potato and half regular fries for our order. I wasn't a big fan of the Moscow Mule I had though, next time I'll just get a bottle of wine since it's half off during Happy Hour (which I thought was an insane deal!).
