Between the cold food that was somehow both burnt and undercooked and the outrageously slow service, this experience was extremely disappointing. We wanted a good hot breakfast, but we were seated at a dirty booth and overall my family of 4 and I felt very uncomfortable with the waitstaff's attempts to seat and serve us well. The server brought out one meal at a time, with a good 5 minute pause in between each person's food. I understand that sometimes the cooks can be swamped sometimes, but at 8:00 on a Tuesday morning, this IHOP was NOT hopping. The bathrooms were almost cleaner than the crusted up counter-- not a good look. We politely asked how much longer the food would be, and were not really given an answer, except that some of our food was ready, but just sitting there waiting for the rest. All four of us ordered hash browns. The burnt outer layer of potatoes did not fair too well with the cold, mushy inside. The over easy eggs were not at all over, or easy. When cutting into the egg, the yolk gushed out along with either water or raw egg. The translucent film was really enough for anyone to put the plate aside. The Swedish crepes sounded appetizing, but really tasted more like buttery fried tortillas. A close second. The sausage resembled boiled hot dog bites, and didn't taste much better. In all seriousness, the one star came from the wonderful chocolate chocolate chip pancakes. (But, why the chocolate chips on the side? Long wait for food. Lukewarm when arrived but didn't send back due to long wait initially. Coffee cup remained empty for long periods of time. Of the 3 breakfasts ordered 1 did not have all the ingredients that it was supposed to. Wrote to the company and 2 days later the manager called. Now, I was not looking for a freebie, but all manager said was sorry and next time we come in we should identify ourselves and he would take care of us. As a long time restaurant professional this is about the worse thing you can do, in my opinion. Either offer to send certificates out, or don't make a gesture at all and just apologize. By putting the responsibility on the guest it makes them uncomfortable. Who wants to ask to see the manager, try to explain who you are and that the manager promised to "take care" of you when you returned. It makes for an embarrassing conversation so chances are the guest would never have that conversation, which also means that that guest will probably not return. Also, what does "take care of you" mean? Are you buying my meal, are you picking up a round of coffee? No either apologize and leave it at that-which I am fine with. Or make a concrete offer of "restitution" (I hate using that word but can't think of any other appropriate word at this minute) by offering to mail or email (which he had) a coupon or gift certificate for. read more

Horrible, we walked in and had to wait 10 minutes to get seated at a table. We waited and waited for 45 minutes to get our order finally taken and another 45 minute wait to get our food. The service was lazy and was very bad. We missed my dogs vet appointment because of how long the wait was, but the food was fine. read more

Maybe it was just due to low expectations...but lunch here was delicious! I had a cheeseburger and onion rings that were pretty darn good (never would've guessed they came from IHOP), and my friend and I shared an order of blueberry pancakes for dessert. And these weren't sad, flat, boring pancakes, but big and fluffy and stuffed and topped with blueberries -- yum! Service was perfectly fine (granted, it was 3pm on a Saturday, so not super busy), and lunch including dessert totaled $30. It's an iHop... If you've been to one you know what the food is like. What sets this one apart is its service. For one week each July about 700000 people and 8000 airplanes converge on Oshkosh for the EAA convention. Through it all they still manage to seat you quickly and get your food to you in a timely manner. The waitstaff is efficient and despite the hassle remain cheery and welcoming. The food was good, but I did not appreciate the new "pay at the table" idea. I don't care if someone ate and didn't pay. Me and my party ended up staying at the table for an extra twenty minutes just sitting there. Then when the waitress saw us getting up, she rushed over and stopped us, saying she'd be right with us. Hello, I would like to complain about my sevrer and the whole restraunt of people working today. For one, Tammy, (our waitress) was very unorganized and didnt have her mask on ever. She was very rude, forgetful, and she looked like she was blackfishing. None of the kitchen staff were wearing there masks, there was 3 people in back other than chefs not wearing masks either. Worst dining experience ever! Oshkosh, Wisconsin IHOP. Took the family in there for supper, Lady Sara (blond lady with glasses) didn't even seem to want to sit us, like it was an imposition. Then after seated found that same Sara was also our waitress. She was not pleasant at all, never once smiled. Wait time was good, she filled drinks which was good. When we got our orders found 2 of the kids meals and one adult meal was screwed up (which could have been server or cook error) when I pointed this our to Sara her reaction was like oh well you are bothering me but I have to fix it I guess. No real apology. When we checked out Sara rang us our ( go figure) she was rude then didn't offer any apology or to do anything about screw ups. I called IHOP 10 minutes after I left , phone rang and rang and rang. ( yet the only people there when we were there was us and one other couple) I asked to speak with a manager and was given to a Sara whom when I asked stated she was not the server we had. Was supposedly a different Sara and apologized a lot claimed she would email some kind of compensation that same day, yet ironically have yet to receive anything. Come to the Oshkosh location at least 10 times. I'd say 9/10 were pretty bad. 5 stars for service (each time we had the same waiter/server and he is awesome) 1/5 stars for quality of food. 3/5 stars for correcting food. Usually do a breakfast for dinner there anywhere from 5-8pm. It usually slow/dead and food takes forever to come to the table. Orders are not normally ever wrong, however food comes out inconsistent. Sausage, always fine. Hash-browns, either under-cooked, or burnt to charcoal. Get's sent back, and get back something just barely overcooked or under-cooked. Bacon, ask for it crispy and it's usually always crispy. However every time I go it's seems like it's getting saltier and saltier. To a point where it tastes like pure salt. Remedy, cut it up to small pieces and mix it in eggs/hash-browns so I don't have to salt those. Eggs, usually okay, never under-cooked but many times overcooked/rubbery. Pancakes are just pancakes..nothing special but at least cooked correctly. Can't speak on waffles. Crepes, the crepe itself it usually just fine, but fillings/toppings are always just...odd. One particular case I ordered crepes with a chocolate mousse filling. It looked great in the picture on the menu.. When it arrived to the table, it was 1 flat/squished crepe, no filling, and pure warm chocolate liquid running all around the plate.....seriously? That was the 9/10. In 1/2 cases food was corrected and done better, the others it was no change or just as bad. My one good experience was going with the country fried steak meal. That was perfect in every sense of the word. Nothing wrong with it. I suggest owners/management do something to make changes such as remodel, updated format, consistent cooking and chef's that know how to cook the simple items on the menu. Because, buying pre-made stuff from the grocery store and putting it in a fry pan at home yields better tasting and better cooked food. I'll try again in a year or so. IHOP is my all-time favorite breakfast menu with so many favorites that i struggle with picking just one. This was our first visit since they enhanced their menu selection to include lunch and diner items which includes sandwiches and dinner plates. My wife ordered the Big Brunch and it immediately rose to the top of her favorite burger selections. I ordered the Bacon Temptation Omelette and we both couldn't finish it all. Ordered food over the phone for pickup, the girl was an absolute delight and even offered extra time to accommodate travel times (to make sure food was warm when i got there). But to my dismay, my food wasnt ready, even though i was already ten minutes late. Come to find out, the nice lady on the phone FORGOT to put in my order. After another fifteen minutes, we were finally able to leave with our food and get home to eat. I was pissed when i saw that my sides were wrong,pancakes were cold, didnt get the extras i had so clearly been charged for. All in all, id never call in another order from here. This IHOP is the same as the hundreds of other IHOPs, Dennys and Perkins all over the country.The food has a lot of grease, is bland and has thousands of calories. If you want to eat healthy, go for the iceburg salad. The service is good and friendly, the restaurant is clean but the menu leaves something to be desired. read more
