Amazing food and service. Maybe I just came at a good time because most of this time it's packed but it wasn't so crowded and service was great around noon time. It's the first Friday of lent, let's get to IHOP for pancakes! Yay! We haven't been there in like forever! Great idea! Upon arriving and waiting for the greeter to come back from seating someone, the music at the entrance was ungodly loud! I was like wow! He returned and uttered something, we just gestured, two. I'm hoping he asked how many? I couldn't hear, honestly! We were seated and ordered coffee. It took probably ten minutes to actually get the coffee. Then we realized, oh crap...no cream. We then waited another 5 minutes to actually see anybody in the dining room that resembled an employee. Luckily someone who appeared to be the manager who was greeting tables asking how things were came to our table. We asked for cream and a waitress so we could order, we hadn't even seen a waitress anywhere the entire time. Another 10 minutes and I'm on my second cup of coffee we finally place an order with a waitress who was from a different section. We realized the waitress in our section was either new or just really slow, not to mention having zero personality or just a rough day by the way she was talking to another table. Luckily we didn't get her. The food arrived in a decent time, rather quick actually but we were amazed at the small portions. My two over hard eggs I think were pigeon eggs from the roof! The smallest eggs I've ever laid eyes on! No exaggerating I'm guessing 3" across and wafer thin. No way these were two normal sized eggs. The hash browns literally were finished with three fork fulls. Now the pancakes.... Oh my, what is this? Flavored syrup? I loved this as a kid! I haven't had blueberry syrup in years! Strawberry too? Score!! Wait, the strawberry won't pour out! No way! I look at the tip of the spout to see if it's empty or clogged and there's hair on it! Awesome! In defense of strawberry it was frigid cold this evening so I'm sure this little lad was just trying to grow a beard to stay warm, can't blame him I guess but tonight he's riding the bench. I'll stick with blueberry who's actually my favorite of all time but not until I examine the follicular situation of Mr blueberry. This little guy appeared to be clean shaven, awesome! Now here's where the visit really gets bad. As if waiting for anything at this place wasn't enough and having bearded syrup didn't do the trick, the bill arrives and we waited for about ten minutes to have our bill and credit card taken to cash out. The waitress disappeared, to where I don't know. The greeter walks by and asks if he can take the bill for us, sure thank you. He grabs our bill and credit card and walks away. A few minutes later we hear three women behind us saying "that's a cute card, but who is Laura"? What? Wait is that ours? What the hell? We turn around and the lady says, is this yours? Umm, yes! Luckily this table wasn't seated with crooks! They could have easily grabbed our card and left the restaurant or stolen the number. WTF?! Bottom line this was an all around bad experience. Horrible actually.... Do yourself a favor and steer clear of this place. The food is overpriced and the service is lacking badly. read more

Wait time inaccurate. Would not recommend. I was told a flat 15-20 minutes and ended up waiting a little over an hour. Those who do not have cars and arrived by Uber or Lyft or Cab or Bus should be able to wait inside as well. Only two servers were available but it does not take two people to sign in guests either. My friend and I came in today and had Kimberly as our server. She made it very clear that it was the end of her shift and that we were her last table because she mentioned it periodically throughout our time there, including the second she got to the table. She made us feel rushed, setting down our bill five minutes after we got our food. Then she hovered the table as we were signing the slip and figuring out what to leave her for her service. I've never felt so unwelcome at a restaurant before, and being a server, I would never make my customers have a rushed experience while trying to enjoy a meal. P.S. The service and food were just ok. There were five of us and we got sat at a booth. We had to ask for an extra table so we all could have a place to eat. In order for the waitress to clear our plates, we had to stack them at the end of the table otherwise she would have just left them in front of us. None of my party had a complaint about the food, but then again no one thought it was the best breakfast either. read more

I've given this place many chances over the years and they still don't answer their phones. The other day I called from nearby to place an order so I can quickly pickup after shopping. No answer. So I drove over, walked in calling them again. The phones there WORK JUST FINE. There was no hostess in sight. There were about 5 tables seated, and I could see 3 servers in the kitchen talking and giggling. Phone is still ringing. No one cares. When the hostess did finally show up I mentioned the phones and she claimed that sometimes the phones don't work. They've learned to tune them out!! Very disgusted. She was at least very nice and quick with taking my order, but I was so livid for a while. Why hasn't this place gotten better?? The staff working there is a joke. I can't imagine what the managers must be like to not give a crap either. They're not answering phones either. I'd order more food to-go, but I literally can't if they don't answer. We had a wonderful experience here on this busy thanksgiving morning. Although the food the first time around didn't come out perfectly how I wanted it, the waitress Chelsea seen it in my face and took it back without even having to ask. The manager Dan bought the fresh, remade plates back out for us with a warm apology and spoke to us very politely, telling us happy thanksgiving and really making us feel welcomed. That's a big thing for me, staff making us feel welcomed! Dan and Chelsea did a great job and thanks to them we will definitely be coming back frequently along with recommending them to our friends and family! As soon as I walked in the hostess was rude to us and proceeded to seat people that came in after we did. Her and other workers here were speaking about how much they get paid and other matters. The hostess was also very unprofessional and running around like a little kid. And while us and other people were waiting there was plenty of seating for everyone waiting in the waiting room. I've tried for days to place a phone order with this restaurant. To not answer the phone is simply poor customer service. It rings continuously in the morning and continuously in the early afternoon. The phone was answered one time on Tuesday early afternoon to let me know that they were not taking phone orders that day because they were short staff. I understand that, but answer the phone or leave an automated message stating that you're not taking phone orders. Do not assume that you're reaching all customers just because you have online ordering. Don't assume that everyone is able to do so and don't make a conscious decision in telling your employees to not answer the telephone. So I decided to go in, called, and heard no phone ringing though I selected the option to place an order. The woman that took my takeout order was nice and quick. I saw her even handle an irate customer that returned because she left her phone and was trying to blame the guy that cleared the table though it was found in the restroom. So customer service from my experience was good when I walked in, but pretending to have a phone ordering process isn't right. read more

Terrible service. Last time I came here was 5 years ago. There was a wait to be seated. 45 minutes after we sat down we still had not been acknowledged by our server, so we left. Tried again today. There were less than 10 tables seated in the entire restaurant. It still took 10 minutes to be greeted by a server, an additional 10 minutes to bring our drinks. We asked for some extra napkins since we had our 1 year old with us and he is a messy eater. Again, it took 15 minutes to get some napkuns delivered to the table. The baby was getting extremely fussy and we couldn't even locate our server to see how much longer it would be. If you want a low quality breakfast, it wod probably be much faster for you to go to the grocery store to buy some frozen breakfast entrees, THEN go to an appliance store to buy microwave to cook it in, THEN go purchase a new home to cook the frozen dinner in. To start, it took 20 minutes for us to get our drinks and over a half hour to finally get our food, which our server didn't even serve us. Then we had to ask another server to get our ketchup and we had to ask him for more drinks while our server was just walking around the restaurant not assisting us at all. I had to ask the server several times for an extra side of Nutella in which she spilled before handing it to me. When we asked for our bills she mixed them all up and had to redo them. We have been at the restaurant for over 2 hours just waiting on our food and drinks. The table next to us waited 45 minutes just for their drinks and ended up leaving without ordering. My family and I walked in around 5pm and waited about 10 minutes to be seated and no one came to help us. My husband had to call for someone to come and help us even thought many employees watched us waiting. We get to our table and wait 70 minutes, not exaggerating, for our food to arrive. While we waited that time, we saw many other people come in, get seated right away, and even got their food BEFORE we did! My kids food came first which they finished before the adult plates ever came out. Such a dissatisfied night that was supposed to be a fun family night on Father's Day. When visiting this IHOP a few weeks ago, I simply ordered a fairly typical breakfast (pancake, meats & eggs) with a cup of coffee. The overall experience was OK. There was a 15-20 minute wait, but of course this was on a Sunday, so it was to be expected and understandably it's beyond IHOP's control. The waitress was also OK. They were cordial and didn't make it seem as though we were a bother, but they also didn't go out of their way to be friendly or offer exceptional service either. But again, given how busy they were, maybe they were simply exhausted by the time we arrived and didn't intend to come across the way they did. As far as cleaninless, there was one thing I didn't like. The utensils provided to me still had stuck-on food from the people who used them last, as if they were only half cleaned (if they were cleaned at all). Otherwise, while the place wasn't spotless,they weren't bugs flying around, old food left on the floors or sticky seats/tables. The coffee was pretty good. So overall, I would describe my experience as "meh." I was fed in a relatively reasonable time at a reasonable price. It is IHOP, so expectations should be kept in check. None of the other nearby locations are terribly impressive either, so I wouldn't object returning to this IHOP. read more

September 4, 2016 - We needed food and my girlfriend loves the crapes at IHop, so in we went - never been before. First off, we waited for about five-minutes before the hostess came to greet us, which wasn't pleasant and we were told there would be a wait, so I went to the men's room, which seemed to not go with the restaurant - more like a really bad truck stop in the middle of nowhere - absolutely the dirtiest I had ever seen - it was so bad I used my shirt tail to touch anything at all, but it gets worse - my girlfriend went to the ladies room and when she returned she had a disgusted look on her face, so I stood up and said; "Okay, let's go." I knew she too felt what I felt - if the restrooms are dirty - just imagine the kitchen...too bad because we have been in some really nice IHop's and it appears that a district manager or even an owner is - absent - for lack of a better word? read more

It took 22 minutes for someone to come to the front & see that we needed seating. Then after we got a table we noticed a strange moldy smell, behind us the had the ceiling tiles removed with a later & buckets of water. It was disgusting, so we relocated to the front. THIS LOCATION IS TERRIBLE!!! For starters, when you walk into the restaurant, it takes FOREVER for someone to even come up and greet you whether you're picking up carryout or there to dine in. When you try to call on the phone, they rarely if ever pick up, then leave you waiting on hold until the point you can't take it anymore and hang up. THEN, ordered through them using DoorDash and got several things wrong and/or missing, things we were charged extra for. Sure, the doordasher is supposed to check the orders over, but the things wrong should not have even made it to the driver picking up the order (cheese missing from eggs, 5 pieces of bacon when you're supposed to get 6, missing pancakes and syrup). Then when I tried to call, AGAIN, took forever for someone to answer, then left me on hold until I hung up. The food itself is usually pretty good.... IF you get it, ALL of it that you ordered!!!!! The staff at this location is extremely friendly. Even on a crowded Sunday we only waited a few minutes for a table and when the wait time for one of the meals was longer than expected, it was not only on the house but brought out by the manager with a personal apology. Long story short the waitress/hostess was extremely rude to her other customers and cut me off when i tried to explain the problem when she brought us the wrong food. The service was extremely slow and the food was soggy and cold. The bathroom was DISGUSTING. There was pee all over the floor, the toilet paper holder was destroyed, the walls were caked in dirt and the mirror was a giant mess. it was covered in water marks and filth. It looked as if someone hadn't cleaned that bathroom in about a week. It's IHOP. Nothing fancy. Servers usually are either super busy or uninterested. Again, it's IHOP, it's not as if you need constant service either. However, the other weekend a friend and I came in here late night. We waited in the lobby to be seated... and waited... and waited... finally a woman (Zynyia or something with a Z) came by to give a gentleman in front of us his carryout order. He asked for extra sauce and you could almost see her rolling her eyes as she walked away to get him what he needed and moved at a snails pace to get him out of there. On top of that, she never once NOT ONCE looked up to acknowledge us, seat us, or get someone who COULD seat us. My date actually laughed about how BUSY it was at 1am with all the empty booths... but yet she couldn't say "I'll be right with you" or anything. Eventually I asked another worker I saw if she could get someone to seat us as it had been almost 10 minutes (not kidding... I really wanted French Toast). The food was fine and our server (I don't recall her name but she'd mentioned she was a night manager to another table) was friendly and seemed very concerned about us being ok with having a better experience after that rude issue. I heard her reprimanding the other woman about the issue in the kitchen at one point, which was fine, however then I hear the woman (who clearly knew it was us since it was maybe 4 tables in the place) making threats about fucking the manager up and who does she think she's talking to and whatnot as she walked past our table. Entertaining as that was, I really do wonder how some people maintain employment in a customer service based industry when they obviously have no sense of self control and lack basic interaction skills. I was once upon a time a waitress, and I sucked at it, I didn't take it out on my customers... it wasn't their fault I couldn't remember the orders, specials, and what came on what... I just found a job I was better at. So, yeah, I'll be waiting a while before returning to this location as I am sure I'll get a nice spitwad in my drink if I get the right waitstaff. lol I generally go to the one downtown anyways. let me start out with one word. Pitiful. Ihop is one of my all time favorite, go-to quick eats. So naturally, when that lunchtime hunger set in; I thought, "Ihop!" So my significant other and I grabbed our coats and set out. When we arrived we waited about 10 minutes for a busser to finally notice us and ask if we've been helped. When we told him we hadn't he said he would grab someone to seat us. after about 5 more minutes we were finally seated by someone, who i might add was not too friendly. We sat down and were looking through the menu when we heard a waitress screaming at the costumers in the booth behind us. Not too pleasing but none the less we stayed. at about 1:50 I told my significant other, "if we don't get helped by 2:00 we are leaving." surprise surprise we didn't get any acknowledgement of our existence so we left that place. Just sat at Roseville's ihop for 20 minutes and not one person came to take even our drink order. All of the employees were eating, except one who was bussing tables and one of the employees was screaming at one of her coworkers and not one person said a word as we walked out. This was a very unsatisfactory experience. I am a very reasonable person and understand that people make mistakes but no matter how you play it , there are only three strikes and your out in the customer service ball game. We waited around 10 minutes before we were even greeted by our server Roberta. She then proceeded to bring me the wrong beverage to start off. I mean apple and orange juice are two different colors. We then waited 35 minutes for two omelettes. After receiving our cold food to the point of the cheeses on the omelette not being melted our server didn't come check to see if our order was to our liking. So we proceeded to eat some of it and boxed the rest to finish cooking it at home. We stepped out for a smoke break to return to our cold food and all our belongings being taken by management without anyone telling us what was going on. They received Payment for our food and wrote us off just as quick as the check was cashed. The only staff member that was truly helpful to us was the bus boy named Steven. It may have been that he was just young and untainted still that he was still able to show signs of great customer service but when he approached management they didn't listen to what he was saying. Not only were the managers not listening to a guest complaint but they were arguing with other employees in the kitchen visible to all other guest seated and entering the dining room. A manager finally came and stated that another manger assumed we left our laptops and other belongings on the table as if we were leaving them as a tip. I can't even think of a third world country that would assume something like that. When we were asked for some type of compensation for the experience we were only offered 20% off of our next meal. Why would I want to experience this again for 20% off. It was a waste of time, money, and my respect. The guest should always be top priority. Managers should be touching tables making sure things are ok, and servers should be communicating with management to work effectively and efficiently as a team. I wouldn't recommend Coming here if you want to truly decent experience. I would rather get a grand slam at Denny's and have a peaceful night. read more

I eat here almost every morning when I work in Detroit. I travel to a different city every week and always stick with the same breakfast every morning from Ihop. It's the only routine I have when working because I fly to a different city every week. The IHOP in Roseville, MI is always my favorite. Best service! Best poached eggs!
