I have eaten here many times and I have no compliments. I've never ordered anything other than breakfast but it's always been delicious.

It's pancakes people, very hard to mess that up. Also this is a major chain restaurant, there's no reason to have lipstick on the glassware you serve or duct tape holding the seats together. This location is a dump. It's one thing to be low on renovating funds, it's another to be low on renovating funds and be filthy. IHOP in Spring Valley, NY. While the general service has been ok thru the years, as best one could expect from commercial, we will never be returning to this IHOP again. In short, when the Hostess was taking us to out table, we noticed another clean open Table in the corner booth. We asked the Hostess if we could sit there, she obliged but then the Owner, Mark Epstein came over and said no. He said, "If you stay at this table, you will not be served". I asked why, he had no answer. So we left. Also, I e-mailed IHOP Corporate about the incident and they never bothered to reply. Hven't been to an IHOP in years and I know the crowds was a major reason why. It was crowded but these restaurants always seem to be crowded, esp. on a Saturday. The service was decent but could have been better. The food was eh - ok I guess. May be better to go to a non-chain pancake house if you can, or even a diner. The restaurant itself is not a bad place. If anything the only gripe I had was with the incredibly unruly people sitting behind us with their kids throwing food everywhere and jumping on the seats but can't blame the restaurant for that. The food was pretty good except for the fruit cup (looked like the fruits were all dead but I noticed that's a thing with Ihop). Other than that, I have no complaints. read more

I went here today with some friends. We had a terrible experience from start to finish. The servers were fighting over who got to take the table, which I found to be very unprofessional. Our food took forever to arrive, and the place was practically empty, so there was no good reason for it to take so long. Then when the food finally did arrive, one friend's food was missing. When the server finally brought it, she said "sorry, they never made it. They're idiots." Again, unprofessional. Everyone's drinks were empty for a very long time, and we didn't get any more water until we specifically asked for it. I asked for my refill on fries, which was advertised on our table. The server said she wasn't sure if they still did that (which is ridiculous, because as I said, it was advertised on the table). After waiting for about 15 minutes, I flagged her down because she certainly didn't come to check on us. I asked about the fries, and she indicated that she had forgotten. She finally brought them. We finally asked for a check, and she never came back to take our money. We went to the hostess to ask her to run our payment, because we got tired of waiting at every step of the way. Everyone had cash except me, so I asked them to put $13 on my card and take the rest in cash. I signed my receipt for $13. Tonight, I looked at my credit card account online, and there is a pending charge for $13, and ALSO a pending charge for $56 and change. If they ran my card without my authorization, I will be contesting the charge. If they ran the charge accidentally and then reversed it, they should have told me about it. I now am very close to the limit on this card because of this mistake (at best) or theft (at worst). I would not go back. This experience was one of the worst restaurant experiences I have ever had. read more

This is the worst experienced I ever had at this IHOP, I ordered 4 cups of hot water because we don't drink the cold beverage, just hot water, no tea bag, not even a piece of lemon, end up they charged me $6.18 for the hot water. Of course, I asked the waitress the reason why she charged me for the hot water. Her response was... giving me 1 tea bag took off $3.09 off from my checks and said she needs to put the hot water as an order into the system, and "hot tea" is the only option in the system consider as a "hot water" in order to enter into the system, and 1 "hot tea" cost $3.09. Came in for a breakfast fix and place has gone to hell. Tables smell because they use the same cloth to wipe over an over again. Pancakes were not thoroughly cooked, French toast was dry and service was lacking. Won't be here again! read more

This place has a lot of damaged furniture. It's an eyesore. The tables and menus aren't cleaned properly so everything is sticky. In avoiding all of that, my next issue was that even though the place was basically empty, it took the server quite sometime to make his way over to us. That was very upsetting, especially since he was sat again directly after us, but took their order first. After all is said as done, the food itself was good. Pretty standard IHOP here! The service was quick and the food was ok. It is very convenient to shopping as it is located in the shopping plaza. Love this place! I come here about once a month with my husband and daughter. Service is always great and our food is even better. We are always greeted with a smile. Yes, it is crowded on the weekends but that is a good sign for a great place. Even with the crowd I have never waited longer than 10 minutes. I highly recommend. read more

We had to wait 20 minutes to sit, tables were open. The waitress didn't put in my wife's order.. there were 5 of us. The order came out 20min later. The server never came back with the water I ordered in the beginning and never got my daughter butter. This place was not busy and seemed to have plenty of servers for tables. My family and I went out to eat here for a weekend get away, the waitress was okay at first. We ordered my husband's meal and gave specific instructions on his allergies, and they still put those ingredients in his meal, I had to rush and get him Benadryl, in that process my food got cold, the waitress did replace my meal but when she brought my meal back it was not correct and to add to it all my son never got his pancakes because the waiter assumed we didn't want them since I complained about them taking long. They did remove my husbands meal and my sons pancakes. When I complained to the manager she said the cooks were very tired. On our way out after paying our waitress Stephanie seemed pleasant but since my tip was not reflected at on the receipt and I was in the process of handing a cash tip she proceeded to yell " my service was not good enough"and I still tipped her because I'm better than that ... very unpleasant experience at this restaurant!!! Very disappointed in the service here. When my boyfriend and I came in the hostess didn't even great us. She walked away talking to a co worker when she saw us come in. Then when she came back about 3 minutes later she still didn't great us. She just says "come this way". She puts our menus on a table and keeps walking away. She put us in a booth that was so close to another I could touch the family next to me without reaching. They weren't happy either. Then my waitress didn't even come to the table other than bringing our food. We had to get her to ask for anything we needed. Everytime we went to find her she was in the kitchen eating. To say the least I'm Disappointed. We got there and it was PACKED but the waiters and staff were to busy talking to one another and joking NOT trying to seat us. The waiting area was filthy the seats were smelly and had holes in them, the management just looked the other way and put black duct tape on it. After Ten minutes we were seated and the seats were also dirty with holes in them. We ordered our food and waited and it came out relatively quick. When I started eating my Country fried stake and it was very easy to tell that it was microwaved it was SOOOOOO chewy it tasted disgusting and the eggs were cold and tasteless. One of my party members got the neutela crapes with bananas and they put like 2 thin little slices of bananas. Our waiter (His Name Was Israel) was Very rude to us he was very inattentive he came like once throughout the whole meal. I also got pancakes and there was no syrup so we asked the first waiter if we could have some she told us she would bring it right away. After 10 min we still had no syrup and our pancakes were getting cold so we asked another waiter for syrup another 10 min and STILL NO syrup then finally we Saw OUR waiter and asked him for syrup and told him what has happened, then he started giving us sass telling us that we have done the wrong thing by asking and how annoying it is when guest ask other severs for Stuff and was just plain annoyed at us. We got very annoyed at him because then he didn't bring us our syrup after another 10 MIN and he was still obviously annoyed at us for bothering him. I am well aware of what IHOP is and I respect it for its place in the food industry. It was one of my few monthly guilty pleasures when it came to eating out at places that I know serves cheap, low-quality food. But no more! Well at least not at this location. A few months ago I went for breakfast on a busy Sunday morning. I had been there several times prior to this time and I had decent experiences. But on my most recent visit, I found the most disgusting thing in my scrambled eggs. A little black curly hair. I kid you not. I nearly threw up onto my plate. I showed it to my waiter who was embarrassed and brought me another order of eggs. Needless to say, I had lost my appetite at that point. Went for dinner about 7PM . Food was generally good. Service was slow and inattentive. Manager was no where to be seen, until she came to respond to a complaint and then was loud, rude and aggressive. She was not a good listener, but liked to talk and say she had no authority to do anything or she would get fired. The bathrooms were clean (although one soap dispenser did not work) but the rest of the place is going to hell: most seats now have duct tape and some seats seem to have more duct tape than vinyl. Ate here a few times. Very good food and good staff. Have always had a friendly wait staff and food has come out warm/hot, even on busy days. I came today to IHOP to have breakfast alone and I waited 15 minutes. I had given my name when I first walked and sat down only to get up to ask why other ppl were going before me. The gentleman at the desk stated that they were seating ppl first come first serve. So I ask him but it's just me and I provided my name when I walked in. He then proceeds to state that they aren't using the list anymore. So I asked him what was the purpose of me providing my name is you were going to use it? Today this IHOP is a mess. Who ever the manager is totally sucks. There was a lady here who placed and o line order and was told to pick it up at 10:30a.m and guess what when I got here at 11:15a.m her order wasn't ready and the manager didn't even show his face to apologize. Once I was seated my waiter was amazing I must say. I honestly don't have a problem the with servers it's more with the ppl in the front and quite frankly today was the first day with such a mess at the first desk. 3 of us were travelling and thought we could stop in for a safe dinner. It took maybe 10 minutes for the waitress to even come to the table to ask about drinks. Food came what I would consider a little late, but maybe I was just hungry. One of our diners asked for a water refill (had to ask!) and it was maybe 7-8 minutes before it was delivered with a "sorry" attached. Meanwhile, the host/hostess/management was loudly counting the till in the vestibule and he was telling a group that they couldn't sit where they had moved to from across the restaurant, then stomped over to let them know. When we finished, the waitress was no where to be seen. I let the host know that we needed her as we were waiting to leave. He went on about his business with another group, then told another person to let (name) know that table (number) was looking for her. 5 minutes later, the check was finally delivered. read more
